No one is saying it’s ok to mistreat the “privileged” class, i was simply pointing out the man’s level of humility compared to his peers. If you want to argue about how corrupt capitalist elites are that’s one thing I can agree on, but to go as far as to say blacks are the real privileged class in this country is mind numbingly dense. You’d have to ignore nearly every race study in economics, policy, policing, judicial, generational wealth, etc. And gaslight your own minuscule problems to believe so. He has a sense of purpose, a reason to get up in the morning. For him its putting on that uniform and walking that beat. Getting to interact with the folks in his community rather than withering away in retirement with nothing else to look forward to. Because he is so active and appears to be healthy I imagine he will have some good years left in him. His drive to keep doing what he does in my opinion will give him many years.

Purpose is absolutely the biggest driving force of survival. If you have something to live for and truly want to live for it, you'll often find a way.
It's also the most effective way to avoid or get past depression. Having a purpose.
It's so easy to feel like you lack a purpose in this day and age. Working 9-5 day in and day out, in a job that could not exist and life wouldn't change.
Find someone or something to take care of and make that your purpose and you'll be surprised how fulfilled you can feel.
