I saw a story about him a couple years ago.. What a cop should be. Many in the field (especially the rookies) should learn from his attitude and career. This man honored and loved his job!!! RIP BUCKSHOT!!!!🙏
Sadly the hiring requirements have been lowered to get folks hired. So the quality may go down. Plus its a calling ,that not all are called to do. Plus like in my area,a field training officer back in the 90s was telling me to much NWO garbage in the Academy. So who knows. The good cops ,like buckshot are the norm. But the news media only shows the cops accused of doing wrong. And those cops are in the minority. But if the news only hypes them up,folks will think its normal.
R.I.P. Buckshot. I never met you in person, but your legacy speaks for itself. The Good Lord called you home so enjoy your retirement! You've certainly earned your wings kind sir.
R.I.P buckshot I’m a sheriff’s deputy myself out in California thank you for your service and you will always be apart of the brotherhood you will always be remember!
@690yioghklbmThe era he came from was extremely racist. Nobody is assuming most white people IS racist but most white people WAS racist back in the 1950s... Especially in the south
I keep getting recommended that video from about three years ago that gives background on him. Finally watched it like I think back in January, and I gotta say I'm blown away by the heroism and stamina that defined this man. I only know about him just because of that one video. I wish He had had more exposure! R.I.P you earned it, chief!
Awww….😢 I saw videos of him a couple years ago and could just tell what a wonderful person he was. He’ll always be an inspiration to so many. Rest in Heaven, Buckshot. ❤️💙🇺🇸
Wow. He was a real romodel. Retired at 93 and passed at 95.. What a romodel. May L.C. “Buckshot” Smith RIP. I’m sure he is. He lived to serve as a police officer for so long. I think I’ve been either news or some RUclips ride along with him but I don’t know.
Damn, I’m very saddened to hear about this considering I watched his little documentary about two months ago This is someone that truly lived life to the fullest. You can finally rest Mr. Buckshot
I believe had he stayed on he would still be alive. People would be surprised how our mind works. When we have nothing to strive for, everything starts winding down. And law enforcement was his passion. It kept him going even through illnesses I'm sure he had. No one drives in their 90s anymore. That is very rare. But I'm sure God will use him in whatever capacity he deems. Godspeed Buckshot.
Thank you for your service and your example, not only as an officer, but what a man is. My condolences to his family, friends and fellow officers. I have no doubt that when he opened his eyes in Heaven, the first words he heard were, "Well done, my good and faithful servant".
Heard about Buckshot about a year or two ago in a different video. A truly amazing man, Buckshot was a living legend whose dedication was beyond compare. God bless that wonderful men for serving for over six decades, making this world, just a little bit brighter and leaving it better then he found it. Rest in peace Officer.
He wouldn’t retire unless the good lord told him too or took him, he told him too at 93 and he took him at 95, his legacy won’t be forgotten and he will be missed for many years to come. God bless buckshot smith.💖
My first time ever hearing about this guy but I respect my elders and at 95 it doesn't get much more "elder" many times I wish I was that old so I could've experienced maybe the best period of human history and a War where there was no doubts about why they were fighting...I hope u resting peacefully my man..i mean that

What a man. I respect this guy SO much for what he did. Thank you for your service, Chief Buckshot. You'll always be the chief officer on the force in my eyes.
He made national news for this. He was STILL driving at 91
I believe he retired last year.
He was still driving a squad...Guy was a legend.
There was a WW2 vet still driving at 109 just fine, Richard Arvin Overton.
I’d be terrified to be in the roadway if someone that old is driving
