Yea I made a PyroLIVE thumbnail, sorry. The only video I watched related to this topic was Odd's EBR video, so sorry if I retread some talking points that have already been brought up. There were some more things I wanted to talk about but I started to feel really under the weather when I went to record, so I omitted some of my thoughts. I've been enjoying making gameplay videos without having to worry about this kind of stuff, and I hope I don't have to make any more "problem" videos in the future, but I'm not optimistic.
We aren’t the greedy ones we just control literally everything because they created the game. Understandable but hopefully they won’t have any players for much longer. Hopefully this boycott makes them come to some realizations
The more exposure the better imo. Especially with the CCs as they give a lot of exposure for their game so their opinions matter and get around. They are basically gaijins free advertising and gaijin would probably want to maintain that
These content creators are part of the reason the game is terrible. Just stop playing the game and feeding the devs. You can't have your cake and eat it.
when i first read that gaijin said that i was like "wow so players give feedback and instead of fixing it you threaten to shut down the game .....lol" really blew me away like imagine a game dev doing this back in the day when were on ps3/old xboxs.
Imagine pulling all of the rebar out of your building's foundations to sell it for a quick buck, then being surprised when it comes crashing down. Gaijin's decision makers are simply out of touch or indifferent to the community. It won't end well.
i can honestly see war thunder being a dead game within a few years, by dead i mean developement wise, hell it already kinda is, since the gameplay is the same it was 3 or 4 years ago, just newer shit to use
The thing is, there's a lifecycle for any commerical operations, most company eventually became less competitive throughout its lifecycle and got phased out, and its normal to the investors, in that case they would just scrap the company, liqudate it and leave with the remaining money, same goes for games, if Gaijin's investor believes that the commercial operation that is War Thunder is about to end, they will try to squeeze out everything before scrapping the game. The only misjudgement? There's no direct competitor to War Thunder, WoT can hardly pose any threat because of the simulation nature of WT, its not even halfway of its commerical lifespan becasue of this, even with diminishing returns it can still provide a good amount of profit and there's no clear successor for this game, especially not Enlisted, so at the end of the day its still in Gaijin's interest to keep the playerbase reasonably satisfied. When Ford had an almost monopolistic control of the market they got complacent and they just keep producing the Model-T untill its too late, with more and more car manufacturers emerge during the 20s everyone became uninterested in buying Ford cars, and it took some serious reform and a talented management to save the company, Gaijin is on its route to become another Ford.
move to better games , i done in 2018 and not regret it , first week is tough as you got used to playing it every day, after 2 weeks where i found other time sink game i never looked back
I'd say I'm in a similar boat but also not; my stats are above the average player, and I've played very casually on and off for ~8 years. But my highest line is 5.7, and I don't see myself ever going beyond that. Income, RP, heck even crew skills, all these things seem completely unobtainable, even for a decent player. The entire top tier scene is something I only witness through content creators; it might as well be a different game as far as I'm concerned.
@@davidfans5852i belive you and I'd suggest getting Hacks. Get something to get your PC/Console back online when banned Auto Account creator Hacks like aimbot and wall hack + a hack to unlock all vehicles right away. Gaijin doesnt deserve ANY mercy.
I've sunk nearly 4000 hours and more money than I care to admit into this game, and this whole gaslighting and blaming the playerbase situation makes me regret doing so. If there was one time for Gaijin to listen to the community, it's now. Instead they spit in our faces and tell us that we're the problem. This is unbelievable
I mean it’s a Russian company that uses a very predatory revenue model. I stopped playing before I could get a P-51 years ago because they clearly don’t care about us. If you want to spend big money on a military sim, get a basic HOTAS and track IR and play DCS: World. It’s a lot more fun and the community is super wholesome. You might say that’s too much money, but with WT that money holds no guarantee of fun, I would argue. With DCS, you’re pretty much guaranteed a good time.
@@bob38028 _>"with WT that money holds no guarantee of fun"_ This is 100% correct. No matter how much money you spend on this game you're still bound to suffer, albeit less than a non-premium player. _Money_ does not translate well into _fun_ in this game.
@@bob38028 The company being Russian has no real meaning behind that other than you being racist to Russians lol. There have been many companies who have done worse than Gaijin and they were mostly Korean, American and Swedish, so really it can be any company and not just their race lmao.
Honestly, it's kind of impressive how Gaijin can take a game with such amazing bones (War Thunder is still a good game at its heart, nothing will ever tell me otherwise) and just pile-drive it into the ground with terrible management. It's the golden goose all over again.
A ton of people seem to hate the game because of the grind, but the core gameplay is so fun to me it doesn’t matter. Keep in mind that I am at tier 3 air so not exactly the most experienced player there is, but still
coming from a game where petty actions such as revenge bombing and airfield camping are often frequent, this has to be the most prime example of being the most pathetic thing one can see, and it's all coming from the game devs themselves...
Gaijin: "Stop complaining or we are gonna shut down the game" Playerbase: "Okay. Do it." Gaijin: "...Uh- You know you won't be able to-" Playerbase: "DID I STUTTER?!"
I love the excuse of "its overwhelming to new players" when in reality overwhelming new players with content is usually what gets them hyped up and excited, as in all that content they likely choose one aspect or playstyle they want to explore in your game.
And I think its also bs because In every tier and br you have to relearn the game. In my experience knowing the stats of a couple of hundred planes each IS overwhelming. So its not like you have to learn the basics and then you are good to go to the top tier. Because everything is so different. It could help if you could easily play all the planes so that you would know what they are strong at, because for a noob like me the only way to experience this is when I get shot down and its not fun to fly for 10 mins to get to the middle and then getting one shotted in br 2.3... Honestly I had the most fun with the biplanes where everone sucked at the planes were similarly bad.
@@notrather5514 you're basically falling for their lies by saying that. you tell yourself that the game is so radically different at higher tiers that it justifies the grind for people to "learn the game by grinding"
@@unowno123 No. I say if there were less grind then I could try out more planes therefore I could learn about the game way faster and easier. Because playing with the same plane for 40 hours just to get another one you wont really learn that much. And there are PLENTY of them. Edit: And also this also means that the grind in lower tiers means nothing because higher tiers are too different so the skill you get go to waste.
I wouldn't say that's right, overwhelming is overwhelming. I left many games because of that before and while some are probably good games, I just can't be bothered to learn all that from the start!
My favorite part about all of this is how Gaijin said: "Guys, review-bombing us is not the answer or way to get our attention." But then immediately proves themselves wrong, reversing changes just like in the past. Gaijin has proven to us that the only language Free-to-Play companies understand is money, threatening them with bad PR and potential revenue costs is the only way the community can get its point across or be heard at all. I say keep the bad reviews coming until we get a good game.
If any political movement ever has proved anything is that when the people in power tell you to stop protesting in a certain way, it means that it's effective and *we shouldn't stop*
Yeah I have played WT for 10 years now and they literally only respond when the community riots like this. And then they do this 'oh golly gee, you guys are really upset, hopefully you can move past that' type of response.
This is breath of fresh air from all the gameplay videos. Don’t get me wrong I like both but I would like to see more videos like how bad was x vehicle.
Underrated comment tbh, like how certain vehicles/introductions have just overall effected everything, one that instantly springs to mind is the R3 lol
Recently started playing again. The worst things for me are: -Planes in Ground Battles. -Extremely slow, unfun grind. -Russian Tanks. -High Repair Costs. (Literally being punished for playing) -Pay to win mechanics (like Leave Camos) Probably going to stop playing soon.
as someone who got to try this after 2 year break hoping game got better (it dint). Saw same maps as the day i started the playing this (2015), more p2w premiums, cas still being extremely OP and unbalanced (especialy in ground battles) seeing 7~10 planes in ground mode isnt rare. Russian bias completly out of hand they just rolfstomp anyone in sight within 3minutes in higher tiers. Air battles are just premium vs premium...awful 0/10 overall game is 2/10 for f2p player, maybe 5/10 for premium players and 10/10 for whales.
The BR changes that just dropped made me leave for now. I just came back a week ago and they hit me with this BS nerfs to my entire lineup making my ancient relics face future tanks.
Amazing game with lots of potential still but has greedy developers doing anything for a profit. It's great that the playerbase is fighting back now and that more content creators are talking about this. Hopefully Gaijin makes some proper changes
As a former Wargaming player and Supertester I experienced a similar situation with the infamous USS Puerto Rico scam and later even worse situations up to the mass exodus of Community Contributors. Gaijin is following the same path but in a more intense rate, a very, very worrying pace! This is a like hostage negotiation and both sides are failing miserably...
As a guy who browse WT sub reddits regularly,I’m both proud and surprised to see this normally considered toxic community can be this unified. Gaijin simply can not slip through this time like they always does. Edit:I was wrong 💀
The amount of stupid people who regurgitate plebbit talking points is amazing. Ask any of the loud people what was the economic change about and they’ll say anything but give you specifics. Many platitudes, a lot of empty words but nothing specific. Worse you’ll get someone playing 1 jet saying how his (f3h is the only example I’ve seen used) got expensive. Yes but no one talks about how the su-17 and su22 got boosted, how the su-25 in rb almost doubled the SL gain, it’s alright cuz the SB (so like 0.0003% of the player base) went more expensive so now revolt
i saw this happen at least 3 times since 2016 when i started. I was vocal about their shit and ignorance and scummy practice all the time. But community as a whole will forget in 1 or 2 months. We will get f15 ir su27 and they will buy into new f14 or or whatever other new premiums like they always do. Gayjob has not fixed basic systems like volumetrics in 5+ years, they have not fixed server issues for another few. They just keep piling up problems ignoring old ones and people get irritated from time to time but i can guarantee, 2months later you all will be talking about some new premium and what to buy on summer sale instead of this. And gayjob will continue to be greedy scum they were for the past half a decade at least
@@arandomfawn5289 first of all its the tanks and naval that was most affected not air. second of all, it doesnt matter if this update was the worst one or not. for years now gaijin has been repeatedly nerfing SL and RP gains. The game a few years ago was much more customer friendly. Nowadays I am always short on SL even with a premium account. It was the straw that broke the camels back thats all.
It's also BS that we can't sell vehicles after we have to purchase them, AFTER we research them. At least let us get a percentage of the cost back. They really suck.
You and all the other content creators need to keep talking about this and put the pressure on. You are free advertisers and many players play the game/come back to it because of y’all. You have very loud voice for this community and can make things happen
i agree (even tho i bet gaijin is so entitled that they'd rather shut down the CC program and attempt to mute the former members than admit they're wrong)
Gaijin couldn´t give less shit. You guys are aware that they delete Forum posts and RUclips videos of content creators when something goes against their liking? They even have a Content Creator discord where people actively get silenced or threatened to be expelled from the cc program.

Gaijin: No, we don't want that! Players not needing to grind for the most basic vechicle functions? We want them to suffer without these for as long as possible, to make them pay for instant acces! Even if it will just piss players off, we want it to stay that way for a while! 10 years at least!!
@@MinqApoc What do you mean Heat-FS where everything is virtually immortal to it is shit stock ammo? You need to pay 5K SL per shot of APDSFS friend, or buy this premium that does get it as stock
I decided to stop at rank IV. Because of the fact, that after 6.7, you cant count on the armour of an tank. The only thing, that matters is "who shoots first". Apart from that, CAS is frustrating. Moreover Gaijin is hypocritical: showing bombers like they were flying fortresses, but nerfed them, so they became paper planes. Saying that they dont want to add mockups or paper tanks because they are not realistic, but let a jagdtiger or Tortoise fight tanks of the cold war. In addition, they added New nations for showing how mannifold they are, but they know that only the big nations are played so they dont want to make the other nations more attractive. Gajin peeves somehow.
The worst thing we found out during this is the localization team gets insanely bad treatments. The Chinese localization team started in 2012 and only got recognized as "official" (meaning start to get paid) in 2019. They are basically treated like volunteers for translating news, blogs, and in-game content. And the "reward" for their hard work is a mere 500GE for 100 lines of content.
Who would've thought a shady eastern european company who's entire existence revolves around milking money out of their userbase could ever treat employees anything less that fairly!?!?
@@lunasakara7306 yeah put mine up, and honestly I had the answer for a long time. "Would I recommend this game to anyone?" No. Because I pretty much already spent 10 years playing this game, experienced its highs and lows, and note how much this game effects me. And even heard how this games deliberate frustration mechanics had actually sent some people to the Emergency Room. I don't recommend War Thunder out of malice. I don't recommend it because I don't want people suffering. And I sit in a somewhat better position economically with over 15 million SL. Used to have over 18 but spent over 4 mill when buying a bunch of vehicles when discounted. And a good chunk of them were high tier vehicles around the 9.0 br range that I'll never play anyway because how much a mess high tiers. Gaijin doesn't give a crap about 3D model changes, I reported the wrong camo on Premium Fokker D.XXI when it first shoved up in dev-server. Literally only thing they had to do was to palette swap Finnish green to Dutch brown as it was one of the Dutch-built planes before the production started in Finland.
I just hope this doesnt blow over. Everyone needs to keep up the pressure, constantly, for gaijin to take this as more than 'just a phase', like they did with the 'free abrams' thing. Genuinely express your thoughts about WT's and Gaijin's many problems until they either get fixed, or until they go under. *Do not let up.*
The thing about the Abrams was it wasn't free. The community was just dumb enough to fall for it. I trust this community to be normie cows as the community has been replaced with cows over the years. Consume produce, get excited for new product.

Just so long as people stop treating gaijin like they can't handle the negative feedback, they're not sensative they're just abusive (like EA). Besides it seems they're probably pulling the game from steam due to the review bombing which is a good sign (amongst other reasons of course).
It makes me happy to see so much of the community stand up and let Gaijin know that what they are doing is ridiculous. I hope that the game can be salvaged and returned to a point where people buy premium to support the game, not because it’s become a necessity.
They're so pathetic, every single statement they make is either condescending or passive aggressive. Encouraging people to use the forums instead where we know the feedback will be entirely ignored, even on their feedback tracker valid complaints are repeatedly shut down by condescending mods - they don't even try to discuss things. Like the part about review bombing, "if the game is shut down, no-one wins" - like they're threatening to stop altogether just because the community is voicing their opinion and doing so in a way they know will get their attention as otherwise history will only repeat itself, any and all feedback goes entirely unnoticed. You know. They could make way more money if they would cut it out with FOMO and being hostile toward their players. Make every single event and removed vehicle purchasable with gold eagles. Problem solved.
I love that both Gaijin and Wargaming are doing EXACTLY the same things to their games, EXACTLY at the same time, and their answer to the community is EXACTLY the same thing (AKA stfu). Gaijin and Wargaming hand in hand on their way to kill their own games.
WG completely shelved something like half the benefits from WoT+, to the extent it doesn't really provide a benefit. I don't know why they released it instead of changing the service. Uptake has been somewhat low.
Funnily enough the WoWs economy changes caused a massive inflation which wasn't all that bad for many people 😂 (though of course the game has many severe issues, but the economy is fine)

They basicly insulted us on how we were too dumb to understand their mental gymnastics on how this was all good for us. And threatening to shut off the game if we keep doing it was the last straw. Keep review bombing their steam page.
Y’all keep this pressure up. I’ve seen devs and corpos do this before: they’ll push too hard in their greed, their customers lash out, then the culprits issue an apology, publicly cancel whatever change brought things to a head, maybe give a small “good-will” token to the offended community, then slowly creep the exact same shit into their product at a later date in smaller increments. This will not stop. Not until you hit their wallets so hard that they can’t continue to disregard your influence on their product and profits. Until Gaijin realizes there will be NO more income if they not only stop pushing this method of monetization, but actively _rescind_ the previous terrible economy changes, they’ll absolutely try this again in a few months when they think they can reasonably get away with it.
4:30 a good example would be the new jedi survivor, it had mixed reviews but almost all of the negative ones were complaining about the bad performance and even they had caveats that the reat of the game was really good
I was looking to get the game and I saw the reveiuws were bad. Having played jedi fallen order it looked weird to me so I had a look at what the revieuws had to say. Gajin is on a load of bullshit rn and should just make it easier and more fun for free to play players.
If a game looks interesting to you but it has bad reviews you will still look at the reviews. If you ignore the game simply for a bad score (and recent one at that) that means you never really were that interested in the game
Thank God for Spookston, Im a casual WT player and have been hearing about the economy crisis. Instead of going to another channel or read a blog, I'll just listen to this man because I know he will explain it in a clear and concise manner. Your vocabulary is stunning
I stopped playing about 5 months ago. It was the ridiculous grind and pure greed for me. Once I got to the cold war era it felt like I was losing SL even if I finished in the top 5 of my team on tanks. Even with premium the rewards were lacking. I was in the WW2-Cold War era for 5-7 months it felt like. It didn't help that I was constantly being shown premium vehicles that cost the price of an entire game to make the grind less painful. It isn't about learning the mechanics of the game and being good at it it's about how much money you'll cough up. That's why people leave, games damn near as bad as diablo immortal
Gaijin is just like (almost) any government, basically. They announce some decision they've come up with, gaslight that it's good for you when it's obviously not, after backlash (if there is any) imitate that they back off and then implement the spoken policy over an extended period of time and/or give you an illusion of choice where either option is awful.
Very thankful for all content creators who speak out against Gaijin and their shitty response, this situation wouldn't have gone so out of control if they just took not only our feedback but even feedback from their own content creators. Just don't freaking make the game worse.
This game could be downright the best military vehicle combat game ever made but they don't care. There hasn't been passion or care about quality involved in years. As many have said, it's just about money, anything else literally means nothing to them. Feel bad for the few devs they have who probably do care and try to make the best of what they have control over.
I have to say, even before the grind was unbearable. Imagine spending hours just to EARN for one of many tanks you already UNLOCKED, but can't buy, because whenever you try to earn money you get destroyed by bias, premium tryhards or rng... or all at once. There need to be some changes, because if this continues, people WILL quit. Not because the game is bad, but because they can't play it.
I have 10s of tanks that are unlocked but couldnt buy. Mostly rank 6 and 7. I dont get much SL even if i carried the match and i lose SL if i make a mistake. I stopped playing my fav lineup because i lose SL or gain nothing at the end of the day
Imagine me playing russian top tier and trying to earn money to buy my new tanks - imposible. I can never earn money reliably, whatever I gain I loose in repairs. And if I have a good game, it's like 10k of benefit. Good luck buying a 1M tank. Stopped playing this shit until it gets better. I don't want to play the 5.7 I've played for YEARS to earn some fucking pocket change.
@@klei7263 meanwhile russian top tier has one of the cheapest lineups in the game, if not THE cheapest in repair costs. Most minor nations like Japan, France, Italy, etc. have almost double the repaircosts for their vehicles. Just to break even in many a game you need to get 5-6 kills and 2 caps...
The community response is well deserved. I've watched gaijin slowly but surely put all of their emphasis on their business model. It's no longer about whether the game is enjoyable, we have all become nothing but numbers and percentages over the years. Gaijin is a perfect worst case scenario of how developers can lose touch over time. It's disgusting.
The problem is not Gaijin. The problem is American Capitalism. They are legally obligated (with actual consequences) to make as much money as possible for shareholders *at all costs*. They don't have a choice. If a shareholder says "you can do better" they either do it, or they have to prove it can't be done. Oppose the system, and we might see games that prioritize anything but profit... Maybe even one day games that see and treat themselves as Art. Edit: As a helpful comment pointed out they are not publicly traded, but they are owned by a Russian-based former Gazprom Oligarch. This makes it all the more confusing that they act this against their interests unless that owner is the one applying the pressure himself. Same problem, different mechanism I suppose.
@@RobinTheBot I feel like that's taking a problem over a video game to heights that a community of this size can't reach. Just to weigh in on the "give players everything" portion of their statement. For players as old as us who have been around since the Beta 10+ years ago, Tier 20 allowed you to get MULTIPLE vehicles all at once when you levelled up and I know it's not the same as having everything all available to you from the start but that system made it so fun to actually play the game. I will never forget getting the ME-163, 262 etc all at once, it was so exciting and it just made me want to continue with the other nations, which I did. This system also allowed for friends of mine to hop in and play casually and unlock multiple vehicles all at once, these friends won't even touch this game anymore due to the large investment needed to actually get to vehicles you want without paying for a high tier premium to maximize your grind potential. I just don't understand how they can sit there and say something like this with so much confidence and arrogance that they are right and we're wrong.
As others have said, I am happy to see the content creators standing with us just as many have in the past. It’s a comfort to know the CCs aren’t Gaijin fed puppets and actually care for us and the game.
Im ashamed of the amount of money I have spent on Golden Eagles to catch up with my friends that had been playing 8 years before I was....and now they wanna make it worse? Smh.
Same I've been playing from the beginning and had to take breaks from it over the years because the grind just gets to the point of being exhausting and feels like a second job.
The way Gaijin's responded to people's reaction is the same way Ubisoft did when they announced their Quartz/NFT bullshit. "Ohh the players just don't know it's better for them!" "WE know better than the userbase!"
I've been encouraged to see big creators like you, Odd, and Phly talk about the state of the game. When even super positive Phly straight up tells people "getting higher tier vehicles won't bring you happiness or fun. It's not gonna be what you think it's gonna be". Like wow Watching creators like y'all convinced me a while ago I genuinely don't want to play past 8.0 or so. I just don't want to deal with the nonsense
War thunder just takes too long to get to tanks that players actually want to play with, the grind to 9.0 takes so long most people just quit while ahead. It’s not a good model to base a game around
i feel like every update is about top tiers or make even higher br... lmao how much is the repair cost for like mig-29 ? what u need to shoot down entire playerbase to have any kind of income . lmao i hope gayjin shuts down their game but i feel like all they gonna do is removing it from steam so they could not get butthurt over bad rewievs. i never even played anything higher than 4.0 br and i have this game for ages now
Honestly, I would rather just buy the game for like 60 bucks and plenty of dlc just for it to be semi normal instead of not being able to finish grinding even if I was immortal with a premium account.
I think something that would really help both us and gaijin’s standing with us would be a restructuring of their internal teams. They need to change who’s actually in charge of pushing ideas and changes because obviously the folks who are currently in those positions are completely disengage from reality.
This happened to all big game companies, managers call the shots, and they are driven by one thing and one thing only: profit. But in the past devs had a say in things.
@@KYDEX97 and? Assault my boss. Or have the whole team Quit. What’s he gonna do? The whole team Gang fucks him. He retires. The whole team quite. The game dies. He loses everything. And the Team can move onto something fresh, with their families, and just ignore the Ignorance
I really hope the game gets better, especially the BR decompression. I cant even play the f104, f100 or f3h-2 without being clapped by all-aspects of jets that all are from 1960-70’s
I hope we can keep the momentum up so that Gaijin doesn't get away with it this time like all the other times in the past where players just seem to forget that they were screwed over.
In these sorts of games I often find myself grinding 10 different research paths because the incredibly slow gain of things at high levels is just too slow and I keep starting new tech trees after getting bored.
Kinda depressing that this happened a week after I put down a solid chunk of change on the pack sale, but it should say something that someone who has been logging in every day for something like 120 days and just barely spent a bunch on a pack sale immediately lost their desire to play because of Gaijin's unbelievably tone deaf response to the situation
Yeah, I too spent a good deal of my hard-earned cash for the 9.3 Merkava during the summer sale. I was actually beginning to feel some satisfaction with my purchase, considering how much trouble I was able to bypass with that free 15d premium account. And when I heard the news, I was absolutely mortified. Seriously though, had I known this earlier, those $30 would definitely have found better use elsewhere
@@APunishedManNamed2 I bought mine from the in-game overlay using my Steam wallet. And it's been almost 10 days, so I'm not sure if I can get a refund
3:49 exactly my experience...this game would be the game I always wanted to have, but after realising that it takes years to unlock only some of the tech trees, I decided that I would not invest so much of my lifetime or money just to drive a virtual leopard or abrams tank. I only play it for some times every few months anymore on the lower tiers and I am glad that I didn't get sucked into the grind.
What I like is that all the CC's are on board with the playerbase and see the issues even if they don't experience it the same as a F2P player. But then you get EuropeanCanadian who mocks the community and sides with the changes😂
They just want you to leave feedback on the forums so they can delete all the negatives, then say that “oh all the people love this update” happens with these kind of devs all the time
The grind imo should be about 2 weeks for 1 medium vehicle. Like, a day or so to unlock new vehicle early, but late br vehicles about a month of casual play.
@@Watergiant95 And now WOT gives you so many rewards and chances to get premium tanks for free that you don't need to pay them money to progress. WOT is still pay to win, but atleast you can play for free

Great point about bad reviews. I like bad reviews because they're either just somebody complaining about a feature they don't like, which tends to make the feature more appealing, or they're highlighting some kind of legitimate concern or problem. Like you said, bad reviews tend to happen when something changes, and it's nice to have the heads-up..
I hope something changes. This is so so bad, and they're obviously trying to make the game as bad as possible (grind wise). They have a form of monopoly and know they can do so so much. I hope it comes to an end. I hope we can make a change. Thanks for making a video on it
Gaijin has the gall to ask for feedback in the forums.. where they can just delete any they don't like. Or, more specifically, their 'unpaid volunteer' gatekeepers can while the company washes their hands of these 'individual actions'.
They are so so arrogant…I would not do a review to trash something out of spite but they sure pushing me to do that now! Are they out of touch with reality? They don’t even try to satisfy there customer base. Bad business model…
Appreciate you spooky boy, Appreciate you writing these videos even if it's against the machine and could lead to your loss of partnership. These issues need to be heard
I very rarely hit a like button or comment but I had to do both on this. This was such a well done and smart analyzation of the situation. I just got back into War Thunder from a hiatus and wanted to see what the economy change controversy was all about. I see nothing has changed with Gaijin since I last played several years ago lol. Thanks for this!
IDK why but I've missed videos like this cause it's really nice to have someone with at least a bit more power speak and set things into words for you. And no you haven't been too hard on them I have about 730 hours since last summer and I've played since 2018 and it has gotten to a point where you don't really grind anymore cause it feels like no matter how much you "grind" nothing really happens. The ONLY place I actually see RP coming into a plane or a tank I'm grinding is if I fully complete modifications to it and get the boost there and that's about it. But again thank you for being here and making these videos :]
They won't, as long as the tap flows with money, they have no reason to listen. Just pull a Bud Lite and put them in their place; then, keep them there, no matter how much they beg. Eventually someone else will make a better product.
So, I have been going around other Content Creators & I enjoy hearing so far the opinions of the people that desire the game to be better & Playable. Here are my thoughts. Gaijin needs to be reminded that their game is free to play, Because a Free to play game should have the incentive to be free to change the game for players that is going to attract players, Instead of having them constantly feeling the grind of going through the tiers & having so many vehicles in certain factions. (The U.S.) For example. Puts a complete Financial Block on what is causing this major Boycotting. There is a potential Risk that players are going to take cause if you choose not to play their game anymore, The potential of them shutting down the game is also possible. Undoubtedly, I find it immature that Gaijin's Developers are so neglectful they are blaming players as it's our fault that we don't have enough money to support their game because they make the game completely not worth playing anymore. Hell, I also have to point out that many players in the world aren't playing the game in general as is... So, They've been boycotting this game for more than 8 - 9 Years so far... As a player of War Thunder & I enjoy the game in general. Review Bombing the game isn't effective, all it's doing is causing more issues, and they review. But they don't take it directly to the source. The reviewers are only just people using words to discourage anyone else from playing the game, Which with no players, Means no economy, No money inflow ends up Shutting down the game, Then everyone else has to be penalized permanently for some immature agenda. But don't think for a second I am not thinking about the Free to play Model & The Premium status... I believe that Premium should be worth it, Because it is only a temporal thing that they allow players to 'Boost' their status and most players. (Especially Free to play players.) Are not likely going to invest into a game that is made free. Especially Gaijin's neglect towards the free to play model of the game. "Sure it's free." But do you really think that an individual will pay $50.99 a Month to play a video game that benefits nothing? - Some Highlights for Summary. - Gaijin needs to stop this Favoritism towards their patrons & Making it where you have to buy premium, But have no way for people to potentially earn their progression by unlocking tanks. - Gaijin also needs to realize the more vehicles you release, will require more Silver, Gold & Experience totally. (Progression makes a video game enjoyable.) - Gaijin should offer better premium deals & Permanent status for EXP Boosts, Increased Lions (Triple or Quadruple the lions earned for each destroy.) - Gaijin also should work on the Matchmaking... Players should be able to participate till the end of the round or "WIN OR LOSS." (I'll elaborate below) A player should be able to remain in the match regardless if it's Arcade or Realistic mode... If they are destroyed or "Killed" In the sense should be allowed to respawn regardless of their tank. Therefor it would give the player the ability to make progress on unlocking the tank's Researching, It will also give the player the ability to support their team properly. So on... Etc. - Gaijin also are required to listen to their fan base, Going in one direction and totally doing a 180 is completely immature & Unfaithful. Distrusting and shows how much they actually care... All I can hope for is they change the game on the player's request. Finally, actually listening & Changing the game to be enjoyable, Fun and progressive... I couldn't care less about it being competitive, Because if you want players to be able to play your game... "Skill or not." I have plenty of written down facts of War Thunder's progression, and clearly I have been playing for years and have not ever made it passed 6.0 & Had to create a new profile, Because of poor Economy.
I'd absolutely listen to the big old talk that Tim's Variety did recently on the system. He's a damn genius and seems like an amazing community ambassador for the whole gaijin economy situation.
I’m glad more content creators like you are speaking up. I’ve seen too many video game ccs defend predatory monetization or ignore developers being abusive monsters *cough* Overwatch *cough*. Great to hear your thoughts Spookston.
You are right on BP. First 2 battlepass were actually implemented pretty well. 2000 GE would give you 4 vehicles and you could sell all non-free ones on the marketplace. And you would get enougg money + some profit to buy the next battlepass again
I’ve been playing for 4 years and I’ve mostly played casually after the first. I reached 6.7 Germany and then started playing other nations a lot. Yet eventually I was forced to grind in order to have the fun I want and the line-up that shouldn’t take hours on end to procure. After all the time though, I have just now only reached the leopard 2a4 and the mig 19. I have barely been over a million silver lions for a few days before using it all on new vehicles, and I’m very lucky to even reach that number when thousands of others can’t even balance the budget. Every time I get a new vehicle, it’s usually very tedious to grind it out in order to make it good. I also have to pay attention to the repair cost in order to not be shafted. I have to spade them all as well. I’m beginning to get frustrated that it’s become so hard to fully grind out a tech tree and the high expense of it. They themselves said that you can basically get top tier by playing after “enough hours”. Gaijin, it’s been 4 years, I want to have fun and I want to be able to play all the tanks I always saw RUclipsrs playing when I was a kid. But the casual player won’t have that, I have to try hard, rage, and use all my time in order to actually get something I want, the grind serves to be tiresome and unfun because you’re forced to grind and do nothing else to play this game in the way Gaijin wants you to. Almost all aspects require you to be a pro, and that’s not okay. I hope Gaijin fixes their game, I really don’t want to quit after all this time, and I want to see the players happy and doing well for themselves.
@@Marder_IFV it’s designed that way. If you hate the game constantly you will just delete it, but if it’s mostly hatred and a little bit of dopamine, you will keep grinding mindlessly
Hey man, I suggest that you honestly just quit. The game isn’t worth it anymore. you shouldn’t be punished for gaijins greed. I’m a 5000 hour veteran, but I’m quitting as well. I’m done with it.
6:04 not to mention that it's a production tank and would have made a great tech tree vehicle. Also there's a prototype caernarvon with the same stabilized 17pdr that they could have put in if they really need that kind of tank in the BP
Also, a literal same vehicle but with 20mm coax is exist as a prototype. It's kinda baffling how gaijin would pick what essentially "centurion tech tree but with stab" instead of genuinely unique centurion.
It's even worst since the Cent mk1 is 6.0 and the mk3 is 7.3, and Britain has no medium tanks anywhere between there (well there is a few at 7.0). The mk2 is an excellent fit for the tech tree right between the mk1 and mk3 (imagine that), but no it is a one off event vehicle which just guarantees it will never be tech tree. :'(
I honestly play for the WW2 tanks, so the grind is not that bad for me; but man, if getting to 5.0 or 7.0 was a pain before, I can't imagine if I had to start over
I'm honestly amazed. I'm seeing creators actually have a shred of integrity and morality and instead of just saying "oh it's all fine, this won't affect the community at large!" despite the fact that they're getting Paid for and can essentially just request whatever they want from the devs....
Honestly, I'd be careful -- WarGaming had no issues with burning their best World of Warships CCs and throwing them under the bus, and then filling the now vacant CC positions up with yes-men. World of Warships went through this same thing almost two years ago, and it was enough that Little White Mouse (who spent her time doing ship reviews and trying to support the game community, and who was likely the very best CC WarGaming had) eventually quit and took the entire CC force with her. Gaijin will not hesitate to do the exact same thing.

i can honestly see war thunder being a dead game within a few years, by dead i mean developement wise, hell it already kinda is, since the gameplay is the same it was 3 or 4 years ago, just newer shit to use

@@notrather5514

@@unowno123 No. I say if there were less grind then I could try out more planes therefore I could learn about the game way faster and easier. Because playing with the same plane for 40 hours just to get another one you wont really learn that much. And there are PLENTY of them.
Edit: And also this also means that the grind in lower tiers means nothing because higher tiers are too different so the skill you get go to waste.

My favorite part about all of this is how Gaijin said:
"Guys, review-bombing us is not the answer or way to get our attention."
But then immediately proves themselves wrong, reversing changes just like in the past. Gaijin has proven to us that the only language Free-to-Play companies understand is money, threatening them with bad PR and potential revenue costs is the only way the community can get its point across or be heard at all. I say keep the bad reviews coming until we get a good game.

Only reason they say that is because they cant control the narrative & situation when review bombed unlike other avenues

The worst thing we found out during this is the localization team gets insanely bad treatments. The Chinese localization team started in 2012 and only got recognized as "official" (meaning start to get paid) in 2019. This will not stop. Not until you hit their wallets so hard that they can’t continue to disregard your influence on their product and profits.

I hope Gaijin for once will listen to us players and fix the bad digital economy.
They won't, as long as the tap flows with money, they have no reason to listen.
Just pull a Bud Lite and put them in their place; then, keep them there, no matter how much they beg.
Eventually someone else will make a better product.
@@lunasakara7306 I agree, Gaijin won't listen now but if we persist and or if leadership at Gaijin changes then there might be a possibility.
(Progression makes a video game enjoyable.)
- Gaijin should offer better premium deals & Permanent status for EXP Boosts, Increased Lions (Triple or Quadruple the lions earned for each destroy.)
- Gaijin also should work on the Matchmaking... Players should be able to participate till the end of the round or "WIN OR LOSS." (I'll elaborate below)
A player should be able to remain in the match regardless if it's Arcade or Realistic mode...
I agree
@@Ben-M112 me too.
I’m glad more content creators like you are speaking up. I’ve seen too many video game ccs defend predatory monetization or ignore developers being abusive monsters *cough* Overwatch *cough*. Great to hear your thoughts Spookston.
using that Command and Conquer Generals soundtrack was like having a key to my childhood
I have to
spade them all as well.
Same but I mainly have fun when I have good games like I don't die in the first 3 minutes
@@thatonelocalauthority2809 real
80% of the games or more I am in Top3 easily. Yet I cannot afford even to repair my sh*t in mid-high tiers. F*ck that
6:04 not to mention that it's a production tank and would have made a great tech tree vehicle.
I honestly play for the WW2 tanks, so the grind is not that bad for me; but man, if getting to 5.0 or 7.0 was a pain before, I can't imagine if I had to start over
"The customer isn't always right!"
Exactly. But no customer... no business.
Gaijin out here financially abusing the entire playerbase and trying to gaslight us into thinking we're the bad guy
Gaijin seems to forget that an angry customer is a lost customer
