For everyone saying this review is unfair because you need to run High Output batteries on FUEL tools;
Milwaukee itself promotes the 6.5" FUEL saw with the XC5 used in this review.
You don't get much for the extra weight of a H.O. 6, see here - ruclips.net/video/CWB3BGIQkDc/видео.html
Not everyone wants to run big batteries on small power tools.
I could have boosted the DeWalt on a Flexvolt 6 too, but didn't for the same reasons.
See ya!
People just hate on Makita for some reason I’ve got all three brands of all their tools and I like all of them. I do have a little bit more Makita Because they never die I never have a reason to get anything else I have to hide them So I can try to get the new versions I still got the old nine. Six slide and battery one still works I got the first 18 V one. Makitas batteries die on me faster and their chucks mess up but the drills or motors never die. Now the Milwaukee Their batteries seem about the same as makitas But the tolls that I have that don’t work are Milwaukee’s
well said...also using different batteries would un-level the playing field. great video.
And again, you've nailed the test - quick, short, sweet, smart, business only, no bs. Thank you, sir.

Makita been out since 2014. I bought one the day it came to market 8 years ago and have put 2-5 charges through it every day 5 days a week since. Still kicks ass.
What do you do that requires so many cuts!?
dawwg will hunt
Damn that little saw has earned itself 100 times over
Have had the makita for several years now and potentially millions of cuts and its reliability is good and it's a great saw .Great video
I love mine too. Haven't touched my 7 1/4 since i got the makita 6 1/2
Millions?…….. MILLIONS?
Makita is definitely the best 6 1/2 circular saw I've used and I'm usually a DeWalt girl 😅 I love my Makita
Thank you! I got the Milwaukee free because it was "broken" just needed the trigger cleaned. Nice to see it's a good saw even if not the top
Great saw!
I have used all these and let me tell you guys......I own this exact makita saw, and is a freaking beast, trust me on this its so ergonomical, smooth, quick, light, powerful etc, really recommended, it is literally my favorite tool I own
Should have tested Dewalt XR Flexvolt if they were testing top of the lines. Other tests are showing it destroys Milwaukee's at least
the Flexvolt is a 7 1/4, see the gen 2 here - ruclips.net/video/CWB3BGIQkDc/видео.html
@@toolrev oops sorry missed that
got virually all the makita cordless saws, but the 165mm is used 95% of the time at home and on site ,its light, well balanced ,used from roofing (with other saws ,i might add) to second fix trim work, most used piece of kit i own, cheers
I have used the Makita brushed version and it was great as well.
Milwaukee saws I don't personally like ,they use bulky blade guards and have bad sightlines etc ,horses for courses 😊
Excellent review, covers all question I had for the Makita and Dewalt, thank you
Good test 👍 Very time consuming work so thank you very much for doing this comparisomn test CB video
The Makita XSH03Z is amazing. It is also the closest way to get a Left Blade guide rail saw with the track adapter and dust collection fitting (196952-2 and 196953-0).
(It amazes me to see righties use a right blade track saw. Stretching, leaning, twisting... everything wrong/unsafe. I'm a former lefty, and we had it good getting right blade track saws.)
Really good review. I just recently changed my tool brand and am with Flex. I am impressed with the Makita. I am on the fence for a 6 1/2 saw. Flex makes one with a new type of drive. It is belt driven. It is longer but more powerful. Flex has the most powerful and long lasting run times for tools and their price is on point. I love competition so Dewalt and Milwaukee will have to step up.
Over priced in my opinion
Great test, exactly what I was looking for!
Makita haha, not a bad tool from them yet. 9.6v - 14.4v - 18v now.. Can't beat it IMO
Makita looks good. Good review video. Thanx
gotta use the high output battery on the milwaukee but solid review nonetheless
Makita all day everyday. Best built, and smoothest. Have the rear handle 7 1/4 as well which is legendary for a reason.
You can small high output batteries, they are not necessarily bigger.
What about cut accuracy, which one of them has a true square and true 45 cut? Thanks..
They all cut straight
Great to know,,, thanks.
Yeesssss. I just got the makita on sale! Beautiful little saw.
Anybody else have a trigger connection problem with the Milwaukee? Or know how to fix it?
Take apart the trigger but be careful because of the springs.
Clean the contacts.
Apply Dielectric grease (there are two separate contacts so dont use a conductive grease because it might shortcircuit)
Got the Milwaukee with a 5 Ah battery for $89 at Home Depot. Can’t beat that
Damn that is a steal
Brushed version for That price
I have had the Makita for years and years and it is a great saw, I like how light it is, very good for certain applications where you need to cut in odd ways like over your head or vertically / sideways ect. I like it but have moved away from Makita to dewalt because I am finding akitas build quality has gone to the dumper the last couple years. the drills especially are just junk now.I will go ahead with the dewalt circular saw and see if I like it but I will probably miss the nice light weight Makita.
The 6 1/2" Makita Circ.Saw is my all-time favorite cordless power tool for two reasons. It's the least squirrelly circ. saw ever and it's light as a feather.
I have the 36v but I need an extra saw on the jobsite. the 6 1/2" is $199 so idk if it's worth getting it or just buy another 36v bundle for $50 more
I just got the DeWalt today and I think I messed up
@@sirslasher8189 I got it for 149$ on Amazon, sold by Amazon... they go on sale often. I got mine since the day it came out, so I buy more for my guys at the jobsites.
@@dangrimes5078 lol
cual es el código del adaptador de polvo ?
Makita makes an amazing saw all my tools are dewalt and ive been disappointed every time I grab my saw to rip I try Makita a few times from coworkers and trust me I hate to admit it but Makita takes the win on drills and other tools dewalt is my choice
Is this a Makita 680 please ?
yeah
Would be perfect if Makita had a blade right version of this same saw. Sometimes it's a bit awkward having the blade on your side as a right handed person and not having the dust exhausting at you which is a mess at times. Affordable enough that you could have a set of both to chose from depending on the job.
Great content as always, always look to you for info whenever shopping for new tools........Thank You.
Nice, thanks JT - this Makita 18V sub compact might be THE ONE - www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-18-Volt-6-1-2-in-LXT-Lithium-Ion-Sub-Compact-Brushless-Cordless-Circular-Saw-Tool-Only-XSH04ZB/305309072#overlay
They do, DHS660 in the European market at least
good video! thanks
Very informative video. Thanks
This was incredibly helpful, thank you for your detailed review!
You Bet!
My old craftsman had a nice laser that showed Exactly where you're cutting, even on beveled cuts. Too bad the batteries are so rare and $$$.
Makita works great
Can’t beat makita
Good review
The Milwaukee circular saw is the only Milwaukee tool i dont like. Its not a terrible saw, it works well but compared to the makita I would choose the makita very time
Good video
Makita 💪🔥👍
The absolute best 6.5" Circular saw is definitely flex the performance out gun almost all 6 1/2", the depth of cut is beyond all 6 1/2", no saw even comes close.
They could be. But the big question is how will it hold up in 5 years? They are new in the tool business so there is the big unknown. Makita has done an excellent job for decades perfecting their tools with a great balance of power, ergonomics, and reliability.
Flex is not new in the tool business, they started in 1922 and they invented the angle grinder. But that line of tools is new.
I started buying Milwaukee tools now, but this Makita 6 1/2" is not only way cheaper, but really destroys Milwaukee, and Dewalt in terms of durability
@@PepRex Obviously you're not a professional buzcashi player.
@@PepRex it’s magnesium just like the other two… he even said it in the video around the 1 minute mark
I prefer makita overall but this version of the skillsaw I find dewalt so much better, can’t stand the feel of the makita one
Makita fan
You need the high output Milwaukee batteries for the fuel tools. It's a much more efficient battery with more power. You're running 21700 cells against very old 18650 cells in the Milwaukee, not a good comparison. I have both the old 5.0 and the 8.0 HO. The 8.0 runs the tool much cooler and with more power because it's efficiency is much higher. It's like night and day.
Same thing for Dewalt. Longer lasting/longer chsrge time w/batteries though.
The 5ah battery on dewalt has 18650. The 6ah one(20v) has 21700
They are all using 5amp hour.
You're making Milwaukee fans sound like babies.
Milwaukee ain’t the best at everything. Just take an L for this one lol
@@minhdaubu2363 you're right Milwaukee isn't the best at everything, but this is like putting kerosene in a diesel engine... Will it run? Yes, absolutely. But you definitely won't get the power and torque that you would from diesel.. This saw being a fuel tool is specifically made for peak performance with 21700 cell batteries.
Макита рулит!!!
I'll keep my Dewalt
Dewalt is still king
