    Thank you! Saved me a trip to a service technician. The end of my throttle cable had actually fallen out of the slot, probably due to it being too loose and never adjusting it. Put it back in and tightened the screw to adjust and back in business :). Appreciate the vid man!

    Had a customer last week with the same issue. Never the less, great tip for those who didn't know. Thanks for taking time to make these videos for us.

    great video.. i could not find anything on any site including stihls sites for the throttle adjustment. Thanks for the great video. Now for another question. Why is it on these new 4mix stihl engines that the compression is low similar to a regular 4 cycle engine. I have three of these pole saws : HT101, and HT131 and they all have about 60 to 70 psi compression. I also just recently found out that these are 4 stroke engines and not two stroke so maybe because of the cam and valves the compression is lower ?? most lawn mower engines i have tested for compression all run about the same at 40 to 60, and most 2 cycle trimmers i test have to have over 90 to operate. Thanks for any input on this subject .

    Very good tech tip, never knew that adjustment was there either. Stihl liked the cable adjustment tip the best. Looking forward to more tips.

    Tried to do this on my FS 56 RCE , but I don’t know where the adjustment screw is. Mine doesn’t have that tension plate, nor the adjusting notch at the carry handle like other stihl models. Great video anyway. 👍

    Thanks brother love your work, I just bought a FS/38 second hand it has heaps of power but won’t idle. I’ll adjust the cable tomorrow & that should fix the problem. What do you think 🤔 champ?

      Maybe adjust the idle a bit higher and fine tune the low speed adjuster for air/fuel mix

    If you cant make adjustment there you can look on top of handle where slot is. There is another slot within that one , push it forward to take slack out of cable.

    So I want to know. Is it okay to lessen the power? Mine is off the radar way too much for me 😭

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  2 года назад +1

      Yes absolutely! You can back that screw off and will give less power, as the throttle plate won't open as much. Thanks for watching!

      @@EliminatorPerformance Thank you. I'm not having much luck. My toys are new. My mower will only start for a few seconds now then dies so I went to the *overpowered brush cutter which is now doing the same. I have so much respect for those who know how to fix these issues But why is it happening when these are Brand New 🤦‍♀️ Cost me all my savings too 😭😭😭

    Here's my suggestion for a Video.
    2 stroke leak test.

    • @EliminatorPerformance
      @EliminatorPerformance  4 года назад

      Testing for leaky reed valves or head gasket? Hmm I'll have to find one! Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @billlovett4256
      @billlovett4256 4 года назад

      @@EliminatorPerformance it's more like testing for crankshaft seals and base gasket leaks....just carb kits usually work but if there's a leak it's a waste of time.

    Run the motor a little richer on mix at full throttle you can hear it lean popping

    That whole cable guide looks completely mickey mouse. I have a stihl trimmer and so far so good, but the plastic cable run thing just seems to flop around in the breeze. Should still work since it's all about the relationship of the ends of the cable and housing, and it won't affect that. But a) it doesn't look very durable and b) I'm not convinced it was designed to be like that. Anyone else noticed this/got any comments? Maybe in fact it's a design feature with an ingenious purpose, but, I don't know...
