@@gilbosdiy I know for sure I need to replace the transmission mount which is located on the driver side if I understand it correctly, do I need to replace the engine mounts on the passenger side if it's still OK or should I wait till it wears out or fails to replace it? I thought the parts were cheap but the dealer wants an arm and a leg for the parts. What do you advise?
@@magellanmax More than likely the passenger side has failed as well. That side tends to fail first. Especially if it is the OG mount. If you watch the other video of the passnger side mount, you can see how I check if it has failed. I ordered my mounts online from Honda dealerships that have online site (Honda parts online, honda OEM parts online, Honda parts now, etc..) Probably like 10-15 sites. Just spend some time and check the different site. Even online it varies. Just remember to include the shipping. Some sites shipping is better than others. Way cheaper than my local Honda dealerships. Tends to take like 7-10 days to get parts. So keep that in mind. Yes price was more expensive than cheapo ones. I plan on keeping the vehicle for a while so I went with Honda. Didn't want to the headache of having to change it out 10k-15k mile down the road.
I loved all three videos !!! Excellent job indeed !! Would you be kind enough to tell me if all three mounts are for the manual or the automatic ?? Any differences bet. the two ?? Thanks !!
Thanks, glad that the videos helped. My vehicle is an automatic. Sorry, I am not sure if it is the same for a manual or not. Thanks again for watching, please hit the like and subscribe button.
Hello @gilbosdiy after watching the 3 excellent videos you made for the Honda Civic motor mount replacements, how long would you estimate it would have taken you if you weren't filming yourself? About 4 hours?
If you don't live in a rust prone area and prespray the bolts down. I'd say 3-4 hours tops, might not even be that long. Glad the videos helped. Please hit the like and subscribe button. If you have any more questions just ask.
Do you have a floor jack with a piece of wood underneath the transmission? 2:32 into the video. You might need to raise or lower a smidge. Actually, which bracket are you referring to. What time in the video?
The black bracket at 13:14 the middle long bolt won’t go in by hand. Yes I have the wood under holding the transmission. I’ve tried lowering and raising but wont budge.
I changed for you guys, the viewers. Sure I could have reused the old nuts and bolts. If a viewer lived in the rust belt, they might need to replace the nuts and bolts. Then, they would have been left unable to finish the replacement, with out the part numbers for the nuts and bolts. Thanks for watching. Make sure to hit the like and subscribe button.
Per Honda's repair manuals, you have to replace every single nut and bolt you ever remove (makes no sense, but I'm sure that it's a liability issue). I usually reuse them if they are in good shape
Nice work and 3 part series. You're very clear and well spoken. Thank you

For some reason I can’t get the bracket plate lined up with the mount 😢

@@gilbosdiy well now I’m pissed I cross threaded the back side of the mount where the bolt goes. 😭😭 fml 🤦♂️
