I’ve watched 4 times. Want to master this; I keep getting better and better. Thanks so much for the wonderfully simple instructions and tutorial for each step.
Hello! I hope you had a cheerful day! I was visiting my grandkids and all 3 of them tired me out in a happy way! I hope you have a gentle and kind week ahead! Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Wow! The tote bag turned out beautiful. The instructor Jess was very, very good at explaining each step. She definitely has a future in teaching! I was impressed and I'm inspired to try this project.
Jessica, you are a fabulous addition to the Missouri Star Quilt family! Your tutorial and demo was so good, I think I can do this. I am not saying that mine will look as professional as yours, but I think I could carry it with pride! Thank you so much! You look too young to know so much!
I bought the kit, read through the directions and decided to watch the tutorial. It was very helpful. I was not happy with the choice of lining material, however, It was thin and raveled easily. It was also beige and there was no coordinating color in the outside patterned material and the faux suede was gray. If I make this bag again I would pick a sturdier material for he lining and I would also use fusible interfacing on the lining material and pockets.
@@suzannekitchen3444 I have also purchased this kit and the faux leather was in two parts so it was impossible to get the four 28" pieces for the handles. I emailed MSQC....apparently there is a seperate piece of faux leather specifically for the handles....which I found after I emailed lol. The bag came together really nicely.
This is great! Looking at the bag I thought to myself there is no way I can make this. Jess makes it very easy and clear on what we need to do. I think I need to get a rotary punch. ;0)
My friend gave me this kit for Christmas. I was just getting ready to make it and the main fabric is in two pieces and there is no way to make the straps 28” long. The two pieces are 13.5”x25.5”. The longest possible is 25.5”. The kit says it’s supposed to be 25”x30”. That’s a drastic reduction in size. What should I do?
Hi Jess I notice you are using a babylock sewing machine which one it it? I am having trouble with missed stitches, I am using a teflon foot and have adjusted my foot tension. My sewing machine is a Janome Skyline S3. Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials.
on the straps - why not just cut two at 1.5" width and fold over? Just asking - does it cause too much bulk on once side? You can still top stitch on each side. Thanks!
I saw this comment before making and decided to try it - it works fine. I just added some basting tape when folding the faux leather over and used clips to hold it before sewing both sides. Didnt seem any bulkier.
There is not a 1/8" sewing foot. You will need to measure from your needle out and use a piece of painters tape or some kind of marking to identify 1/8" on your machine. Another great tutorial from Jessica. Jessica always does a wonderful job teaching her patterns. The only thing I did not like was the background music. I found it very distracting.

Great video, now I’m inspired to try bag making again.
That was a wonderful tutorial. So very well, explained and demonstrated. She’s an excellent teacher. Thanks. 🇦🇺
Jess-You are an outstanding teacher! Thanks for making things so clear and easy to follow.
You are a very good teacher. You made it look so easy. Beautiful bag! Thank you for sharing. God bless.
Love this series. Didn’t even know I desperately needed to make bags! 😅
I really like this style
Nice job with helpful tips and techniques. Thanks!!!
Awesome tutorial! The zipper did it for me as I'm going to add a zipper to a bag that has a velcro tap. Skip the velcro.
Nice tutorial…very good looking tote. The embellishments add a professional touch.
I so enjoyed this tutorial! Can’t wait to make it now! ❤️

Thank you so much! This is an excellent tutorial. I will be making one of these for myself soon.
Great project! Thank you😊
Outstanding 🤗
Another excellent tutorial. I cannot wait to make this bag. Thank you for your excellent, easy-to-follow instructions.
A really great lesson!

P.S. The kit's faux suede material came in two pieces so the layout instructions in the pattern did not apply.

She is using a Accomplish
You can also get missed stitches if you’re not using the right needle for your fabric. Maybe try one intended for thicker layers?
What kind of thread are you using?

is there a 1/8" sewing foot? and is there a kit for this bag, I love it

What is the recommended thread type to make the Sallie Tomato bags please?
I checked on the Sallie Tomato site, and Jessica uses 40wt polyester thread
@@MissouriQuiltCo Thank you. I can use my MSQC thread.
How do I get the pattern

It is on the back of the pattern
