- This is the result of browsing reddit at work.
I have a ton of cheap nvidia video cards that do not support SLI, but if they did, they would perform modestly, especially those dirt cheap GT 730s and 640s that have 2 GB of VRAM. So, I pulled out my trusty GT 1030s (yeah this is like the 5th GT 1030 video on this channel, they’re just so awesome), and got to work to make this a reality.
Also - I'm pretty sure I’m wearing the same shirt I wore in the last video. I hope you guys don’t think I’m slimy or anything. It’s purely coincidental!

1030 x 2 equal 2060 minus 1010 is 1050 quick math
1030+1030 - 420 + 69 + 1050 = 2759
Now, English is not my native language, but i find it very easy to understand what you're saying. The way you articulate words makes it very clear, without sounding like you're talking to a 5 year old. This is something i find very important, both in general and specifically, when creating You Tube content, as even if your viewers understand you perfectly fine, it makes a world of a difference to memory and actually understanding what you're saying, taking in the information, per say. Honestly, i feel like teachers could take a page out of that book. Point is, i think everyone should strive to speak as clearly as possible, because it just makes life easier, and increases the overall quality of conversations. Just another one of those "life hacks" i suppose... Props for leading by example.

There is a trick I learned that may help you. I took 3 years of Spanish in school but cannot always understand it when spoken because it goes too quickly for me to follow. Enable subtitles in the other language if available(English,in your case, Spanish in mine). It helps because it is easier to understand a written language than a spoken language.

PhilsComputerLab It should work with older cards but I'm not entirely sure about XP. I believe Vista is the oldest OS tested according to the forums but it's worth a shot. Thanks for watching Phil!

Really kicking myself for not buying a second 1050ti when I built a computer for my parents... ~£50-70 has been added to the cost since then... oops... guess my own build will have to wait...
NZAnimeManga While two 1050 Tis would be awesome, I think you made the right choice not picking up a second one. Video card prices are coming down so an affordable upgrade might be closer than you think!

And I'm still angry for not going for 32 GiB RAM when I made my current build. Would've been only 65€/$80 more.
This needs to be tested with those Corn GTX 650's that are always on Newegg for like 35 bucks each.
They are already a huge bargain for their results just as a solo card.
650 sli is bad i have tested 660ti and it is performance like 680

The GT 1030 cards have very good temperature control. You can really overclock them beautifully !

Some versions of GT 1030 already come overclocked but all those are REALLY light overclocks. You can really improve the GPU performance greatly , especially the GT 1030 if you spent just a bit of time finding the proper overclock values for your system.
Not in my experience. I had to manually overclock it just like any other card to make it run better. Maybe that was a overclock upon overclock if what you say is true but either way it ran much better and I managed to find the stable values in short time.
Idk if what you say is true. I highly doubt it. because plenty of people out there have overclocked their GT 1030s. Either way... Try it. Who knows what will happen? If it's unstable just adjust it till it's stable. You said it yourself , the default overclocks are very light. If it works , free performance for you.
Wait.. is your gt 1030 from gigabyte? Then yes! It will work! The default overclocked version they give is super light. Use the overclocking software from their website.
Yeah as I expected, that's what the gigabyte version does. It also only increases one clock. It leaves the other untouched. Plenty of untapped potential there.
Make sure to change the change the fan speed curve for a more aggressive overclock and do check with both the haven and valley benchmarks.

I just happen to have a 1050ti and a 1060 3gb, also have a x370 mobo with a sli chip, do you think I could run the 1050 as the primary to utilize the 4g of vram and the 1060 secondary to boost performance in a very vram hungry alpha game (star citizen)
hey ozzy i have a strange issue i know you might not even see this so if anyone in the comments does and knows how to help reply, so i built a new pc and when i click on anything the blue circle from the mouse never moves and it hangs sometimes when i click on the search bar any ideas why this is its very frustrating.

Would it be possible to use different sli auto to test 2 identical gt 630s? I tried to sli the 2 gt 630, but had no success and yes the pc was in test mode! tried it on two different computers, one with win 10 x64 & the other with win 7 x64

I have a DX12 Modification that can enable amd+Nvidia multi-gpu in games where DirectX12 is supported but still they loose around ~25% on scale and it's doesn't works on directx11 games...

That's a nice find Oz. Well done. I just hope SLI and Crossfire returns with new improvements, like being able to actually combine vram from two different cards. Imagine having 8GB vram from 2 1050 tis :)

Oz, thanks for your wonderful videos. I not a "computer building" person, and my computer is nothing fancy. I a photographer and do photo editing on a HP Pavilion 500-214. It gets a little sluggish sometimes when rendering photos so i won't to give it a little help. I don't game at all do I just need a slight boast. I had an idea that I haven't seen tested anywhere. What happens if you use a PCI-E splitter to put more than one GPU on a single slot? Would the computer recognize it as a single GPU? Would the computer recognize it at all? Miners put four GPUs on a single slot all the time. But they aren't using the cards the same way and they have different BIOSes designed to do that sort of thing.
Can we flash a gtx 1050 ti bios with the bios of gtx 970 or a gtx 1650

Pretty cool - I had no idea this could be done. But, one thing to point out: since these low-end GPUs don't have a separate power connector, you may want to be careful about power draw from the motherboard. The 24-pin ATX connector only supplies 2x 12v wires, so you could put a lot of stress on that (keep in mind, there's more than just the GPUs that those power). The 1030s shouldn't be of any concern, but a pair of 750Tis might not be a good idea.
So I've been watching your channel for a long time and I have a little cousin who wants to play fortnite on pc with at least 40fps on 720p. What would be the best prebuilt under 100 usd that would allow me to put in my old 750ti for him or is there a better gpu to fit with the pc suggested thanks in advance.

This would be useful for rebranded GPU's (ex: 760/670, 680/770, Titan/780ti) and it makes sense that the 1030's scale right under a 1050ti, as it has the same amount of CUDA cores (1030=384(x2=1050ti)
