Now, English is not my native language, but i find it very easy to understand what you're saying. The way you articulate words makes it very clear, without sounding like you're talking to a 5 year old. This is something i find very important, both in general and specifically, when creating You Tube content, as even if your viewers understand you perfectly fine, it makes a world of a difference to memory and actually understanding what you're saying, taking in the information, per say. Honestly, i feel like teachers could take a page out of that book. Point is, i think everyone should strive to speak as clearly as possible, because it just makes life easier, and increases the overall quality of conversations. Just another one of those "life hacks" i suppose... Props for leading by example.
There is a trick I learned that may help you. I took 3 years of Spanish in school but cannot always understand it when spoken because it goes too quickly for me to follow. Enable subtitles in the other language if available(English,in your case, Spanish in mine). It helps because it is easier to understand a written language than a spoken language.
Some versions of GT 1030 already come overclocked but all those are REALLY light overclocks. You can really improve the GPU performance greatly , especially the GT 1030 if you spent just a bit of time finding the proper overclock values for your system.
Not in my experience. I had to manually overclock it just like any other card to make it run better. Maybe that was a overclock upon overclock if what you say is true but either way it ran much better and I managed to find the stable values in short time.
Idk if what you say is true. I highly doubt it. because plenty of people out there have overclocked their GT 1030s. Either way... Try it. Who knows what will happen? If it's unstable just adjust it till it's stable. You said it yourself , the default overclocks are very light. If it works , free performance for you. Wait.. is your gt 1030 from gigabyte? Then yes! It will work! The default overclocked version they give is super light. Use the overclocking software from their website.
Yeah as I expected, that's what the gigabyte version does. It also only increases one clock. It leaves the other untouched. Plenty of untapped potential there. Make sure to change the change the fan speed curve for a more aggressive overclock and do check with both the haven and valley benchmarks.
This needs to be tested with those Corn GTX 650's that are always on Newegg for like 35 bucks each. They are already a huge bargain for their results just as a solo card.
This is very interesting! Never knew it was possible. I wonder if I could use this on the PCI version of the GeForce GT 610 on my old PC which doesn't PCIe slots?
PhilsComputerLab It should work with older cards but I'm not entirely sure about XP. I believe Vista is the oldest OS tested according to the forums but it's worth a shot. Thanks for watching Phil!
Great informative video, as always, thanks Oz! :) Really kicking myself for not buying a second 1050ti when I built a computer for my parents... ~£50-70 has been added to the cost since then... oops... guess my own build will have to wait...
NZAnimeManga While two 1050 Tis would be awesome, I think you made the right choice not picking up a second one. Video card prices are coming down so an affordable upgrade might be closer than you think!
ik its been 5 month but in farcry idk which one maybe 3 or 4 i used Cheat Engine to get in game money and get everything i guess now you can but it or something... (not sure)
I love that you do videos like this. Not many bother to do something unique or tests for fun, just to see what's possible. There's always people like "but whyyyy". WHY NOT! True enthusiast channel.
Pretty cool - I had no idea this could be done. But, one thing to point out: since these low-end GPUs don't have a separate power connector, you may want to be careful about power draw from the motherboard. The 24-pin ATX connector only supplies 2x 12v wires, so you could put a lot of stress on that (keep in mind, there's more than just the GPUs that those power). The 1030s shouldn't be of any concern, but a pair of 750Tis might not be a good idea.
That's a nice find Oz. Well done. I just hope SLI and Crossfire returns with new improvements, like being able to actually combine vram from two different cards. Imagine having 8GB vram from 2 1050 tis :)
Please if anyone could help me..... Yesterday I bought a Gt 1030, previous I had a Gts 450, I updated my drivers and deleted my old drivers yet my 1030 still runs like a 1030 Specs: AsusPrimeB350E motherboard 500W Bronze PSU 8GBDDR4 AmdRyzen51400 1TB
I've been curious about how a pair of gtx 950s would perform for a while. Thanks for this video. Now if RUclips would send me notifications of your videos again that would be great.
Bought a GT 1030 a couple weeks ago from Amazon for $70, they're a hard find but they're out there. The best budget gaming GPU on the market, especially since 1050s are now ~$150 and 1050TIs are ~$200.
The GT 1030 is just awesome, cheap as candy, strong as chili. It's just insane how much performance such a "low-end" card can push out. - Put "low-end" in quotation marks as that is a hard underestimation of such a card.
This would be useful for rebranded GPU's (ex: 760/670, 680/770, Titan/780ti) and it makes sense that the 1030's scale right under a 1050ti, as it has the same amount of CUDA cores (1030=384(x2=1050ti)
Given the price of a 1030 against something like a second hand 760, this seems more like a cool idea that sorta works rather than something anyone should ever actually do to their daily driver.
This is real genius idea as now cant get any better graphic card in the market. GT 1030 is the only available with reasonable price. This SLI 2 card can easily beat GT 1050!!
Thanks a lot for making a RUclips not many black tech RUclips channels man again thanks a lot you give hope for ppl like myself will be watching your videos man
I bought two 660 Ti's (both MSI Twin Frozr) for 90 USD from craigslist and run them in SLI to provide me with beast performance (somewhere between the 1050 Ti and 1060) for a bargain! Even (much) easier than doing what you're doing with the 1030's since they already do support SLi :-)
I used DifferentSLI when I learned that certain brands of video cards can't SLI EVEN IF THEY ARE THE SAME CARD. So to get my 970 Zotac to work with a 970 EVGA I had to DifferentSLI it. They worked pretty well, but honestly there were only a few select games they would truly shine in. A lot of the time they would spit out sub 60FPS with 40% to 60% loads between both cards... Other games, like Tomb Raider, actually used them well.
I saw that list in the video for the Quadro FX 4600 and my prayers were answered, ive got an old Q6600 workstation with dual FX 4600's but the board doesnt support SLI. I can say, it performs similarly to an RX 550 with a mere 768mb of video memory. Not too bad for essentially 40$ in GPU's
SLI-ing passively cooled GT 1030 seems interesting, distributes the heat hopefully a bit better across motherboard and no dust issues, very interested in a review of this, heat-wise... hmmm....
Oh you should try and see what kind of performance you would get from 1050ti sli, I have like 3 laying around lol its kind of a bummer really. I have always like sli and crossfiire, but they are becoming obsolete sadly. That won't stop me next winter I will build a rx 580 8gb cross fire pc with a ryzen 7 2700x. It will serve as a decent gaming rig and a heater.
Im saving up for a R5 1600X but if i can get that R7 1700 (or the X version) it would serve me for VERY long. Might only have to get another RX470 to Crossfire with.
See if you can do this with two GTX 1060. This would be interesting since Nvidia strategically............ removed SLI from this card. Please.... I love this type of video.
I want you to make a video on gamepad controller which work best for pc (cheap third party, xbox, playstation, etc) and make a comparison for the best value for money! I just can't find a similar video on RUclips!
You said this works with different cards, I wonder how would it scale with like, for example, a 1030 and 710, can you dive deeper oz? Awesome video has always!!!
I ran this with a gtx 760 and 770 together (you can even use an SLI bridge with them) and got virtually the same synthetic benchmark scores in Firestrike and Heaven as my lightly overclocked GTX 1060 3gb
So if I understand correctly the drop in support for SLI and Crossfire is not so much about multiple GPU support no longer being a thing but more that SLI and Crossfire are no longer the only way to utilize multiple GPUs at the same time.
Thanks for the clarifications, i'm using a 1030 and i got another 1030 that came with a new computer so i thought i might use the two of them rather than getting a 1050 because prices skyrocketed (a new 1050 ti is 340 dollars in here).
Cool! Now throw a mGPU benchmark at the dual 1030s. I believe Gears of War 4 and Sniper Elite 4 support it, and Ashes of the Singularity benchmark supports it too.
Sandeep Desaraju Yeah that’s decent. It’ll depend on the game but for the most part, you’ll be able to play at 720p high settings 60 frames per second.
Extremely.. My setup is ALMOST like this. I just need a bit more money for RAM upgrade and that Video card. LowspecGamer was able to play PUBG on low 1080p although
I know that this video is about SLI but dx12 has sport for multiple gpus. Mb you can compere dx12 multigpu sport to software SLI :) but keep in mind that stronger card for dx12 need to push frames to monitor ;) Have a nice day
Issues I see with this program is its LIMITED to Windows 10 , a lot of people with older cards are still using LINUX , Windows 7 or Windows 8 and refuse to downgrade to win10
Trouble being that while devs are supporting SLI less and less no one but a few (Ashes, what else?) is actually doing anything with dx12 / vulkan multi-gpu support. so yeah, SLI is dying and it isn't being replaced.
You know what would be pretty cool? SLI with an eGPU GTX1050 and the built-in GTX1050 in an XPS 15 (probably wouldn't work, but it would be cool to try)
so what you are saying is I should take my evga 1050 ti that can OC to 2025mhz gpu clock and 3883mhz memory clock and I should buy another and sli them while also liquid cooling them? sounds like fun
I got two GT 1030 a few days ago for 40 dollars each ;0. I couldn't pass up that steal! They where both still in their boxes, used but have everything.
On Ebay i found 2 1030 for round about 60€ (ca. 70$), the cheapest 1050ti costs about 100€( ca. 115$)? is this a good choice? i am just playing cs go and some other light games like Age of Empires 2, my mobo has two 16x 3.0 lanes
I had an idea that I haven't seen tested anywhere. What happens if you use a PCI-E splitter to put more than one GPU on a single slot? Would the computer recognize it as a single GPU? Would the computer recognize it at all? Miners put four GPUs on a single slot all the time. But they aren't using the cards the same way and they have different BIOSes designed to do that sort of thing.

If u sli two 1030 u get a 2060 which is a next gen 1060. Ur welcome

Sandeep Desaraju Yeah that’s decent. It’ll depend on the game but for the most part, you’ll be able to play at 720p high settings 60 frames per second.
Yep it is! I suggest going for a Ryzen 3 2200G instead
That's perfect for 720, even for 900p is decent honestly.
Extremely.. My setup is ALMOST like this. I just need a bit more money for RAM upgrade and that Video card.
LowspecGamer was able to play PUBG on low 1080p although
What's the bargain GT 1030 prices in India a.t.m ?
The future!... because good luck getting anything else.
I know that this video is about SLI but dx12 has sport for multiple gpus. Mb you can compere dx12 multigpu sport to software SLI :) but keep in mind that stronger card for dx12 need to push frames to monitor ;)
Have a nice day
Great for Frankenstein builds!
How old can a card be to be supported with DifferentSLU?
And is it compatible with the SLI hack for 30 and 40 series chipsets?
1% lows definately took a punch
Issues I see with this program is its LIMITED to Windows 10 , a lot of people with older cards are still using LINUX , Windows 7 or Windows 8 and refuse to downgrade to win10
Trouble being that while devs are supporting SLI less and less no one but a few (Ashes, what else?) is actually doing anything with dx12 / vulkan multi-gpu support. so yeah, SLI is dying and it isn't being replaced.
they don't support sli? but my 750 ti has a connector for an sli bridge...
Very off topic but where’d u get the shirt?
Joshua Venturina my local thrift shop!
This is amazing! It’s the real hack we need!
hello.but if you ran both like gtx 750 and gtx 660 sli by this way.what will the driver you able to use ?
