    Scarlett, I've been loom knitting for quite a while now, but I've never had the nerve to sew a sweater. Until now!! You've made this look so easy! Your instructions are very easy to understand for anyone who has a basic loom knitting knowledge or knows where to find the novice videos or written instructions. Thank you so much. I almost wish I had a toddler to knit this adorable sweater for! Almost.

    Thanks for the video! I followed this to make a 4T size sweater for my son and it turned out great. I'd only ever made scarves on a loom before and I was able to finish the sweater in 6 days.

    I've loomed this once before for a 12month old, he was a huge boy, and sadly just about a year out of this. I now have an adorable nephew, he'll be 2yrs old in February, my sister wants a baggy jumper and I'm curious if I just added about 10 rows to make it longer, and then about another 10 rows for width would what work for him, and maybe 8 rows for sleeve length??
    I've not been able to find any loom projects for a 24-30ish yrs old, you have fabulous jumpers, clear but soft voice, but excellent instructions as I consider you one of the top looming instructors I've ever made something with!! I very much would love to make this for his Xmas time a with matching scarf, and if I can find mittens for toddlers. My sis would love a matching set as well, only made one jumper for an adult but with a tape measure I know I can do it in a box style, not the best, but my sis is very petite so it'll be the best way IMHO to suit her slenderness. If you have another way, please let me know.
    Thank you for your time and possible help to make the baby jumper bigger.Thank you especially for all your hard work and excellent teaching!!! xxx

      Usually to enlarge a pattern like this requires swatches, measurements, and lots of calculations in order to enlarge it. I have been trying to include this in my recent patterns so that having a particular loom or sizing needed is not a requirement if you are willing to do the math. I do not have this sweater in front of me to even be able to do the calculations to help you but I could figure it out if I had the sweater in front of me. I am lot more advanced today, then I was when I did this pattern. Not so restricted on figuring out sizing changes. If you message me on my facebook loom muse page I might could work with you on this. I at least need a swatch and could get you some formulas to change the sizing. Right now I am fixing to do an adult tunic pattern, it will be for a plus size like myself but I plan on including formulas for sizing changes.

    • @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse
      @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse  9 лет назад +2

      +Faith Rodgers Sorry had to think about this one is why I am getting back to you today. Do your body on your 29 or 30 peg loom and do 5 rows a stripe instead of 7. Still use the 24 peg for sleeves and still do 5 row rather than 7 for each stripe.That should give you a newborn size. :-)

    Hi there, thanks so much for sharing your tutorial. I have been watching the video for over an hour whilst I write down everything you are saying, but I am slightly confused with the end of the body piece.
    Its during the last colour change, you say to straight stitch and decrease by one either side (there are 20 pegs with yarn on at this point) you say to do these 2 rows 3 more times giving a total of 8 times, but if I decrease with each row 8 times, then I am left with loops/yarn on only 6 pegs? Is this correct? Or would it only be a total of 5 rows rather than 8?

    • @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse
      @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse  9 месяцев назад

      If you would like to see a written pattern there is a link to my blog for it written out in the info box below the video. You decrease down to 9 stitches and place stitches on a holder to put back on later. Then you will add the back.

  • @TaylorPariseau

    Thank you for the video! Question - I am working on the decrease now and my sweater appears much smaller / tighter than yours. Any suggestions on a looser stitch with this method of knitting? I am used to the loop (wrap) knitting with super bulky (6) yarn. I am using medium (4) yarn for this project and am knitting as you are in the video. Thanks again for posting this video! Excited for my first sweater :)

      You could try a u knit or true knit. I have a very loose flat knit that rubs close to a u knit , that might help.

    Are there 3 or 4 pieces to loom together? It looks like there should be 4 from the video (8 pegs each) but I can't seem to get 4. I only have the body and 2 sleeves. Maybe I am missing the back?

      @@kareniles4974 okay sleeves decrease down to 7 stitches and the body should be down to 12. You will have an overlap peg where you will have two stitches on four pegs. This is where the part edges will do a slight over lap. This helps with keeping it solid when you go to see up the body later.

    When doing the sleeves how many rows of each colour before you start to flat knit. So far I have 3 rows green and 3 rows white X

    • @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse
      @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse  9 лет назад

      Margaret Gordon it is actually 2 rows of each color, but 3 is good it will give you a longer sleeve, found my sleeves were just a tad short.

    • @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse
      @ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse  9 лет назад

      c&m Yes pretty much changing the amount of rows you do between color changes, you want to decrease all points down until you can get the sleeves front and back all lined up together on the loom with just an overlap of 1 peg for each section. Hope this is helpful.
