    This is the ONLY free tutorial (video or written) of how to make a tank top that I have found in my weeks of scouring the web! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your time and effort- it is SO appreciated! I just started loom knitting and have lots of my own ideas, but have to learn the process of working on the loom first, haha, and your videos have been indispensable! THANK YOU!! :) Also, I'll be keeping a sharp eye open for any videos for shorts/pants, too- that would be so helpful, there are even fewer patterns and tutorials for pants/shorts, practically none!)

      Hey did you ever get to make the tank top? I'm thinking of trying it, but using a heart stitch and doing it on a loom with a smaller gauge so it's got a tighter pattern 😅

    Wow! Im very happy that I stayed to watch! I don't usually stay to watch without voice over? I usually try making doll's clothing and accessories, so this is going to take awhile to figure out how to make this into a small gauge Loom knitting project? Thank you so very much 😊! This is such a unique pattern! 😊😊😊😊😊

    Sharing my exoerience : my front panel was too tight :) so the back panel I made it looser by combining 9 E wrap, 9 U wrap, 9 E wrap, 9 U Wrap ( total 36 pegs) in each row. So its kinda strecher at the back but Tighter stiches ( less holes and strech) at the front (better coverage for chest lol ) loving this pattern and will make lots of tank top!

    I made mine on a Martha Stewart adjustable loom in oval shape. I used the same number of pegs as the video though and didn't make mine as long since I made it for my daughter. She loves it. It took me about a day, but I'm pretty slow at it. Very easy to make and a useful way to get rid of excess yarn haha.

    I had my best intentions to try this but I totally fail, for now. I am writing this so beginners like me are aware. First make sure that the loom you are getting works for the yarn you are planning to work with. The distance between the pegs is really important. I was planning to use a worsted / aran yarn but the loom's gauge I got its just too big. I would need a bulky yarn I'd say. The only knitting loom I found locally was a long one, not circular, maybe this was even worse. If I was living in USA I would buy Martha Stewart Knitting Loom set or any other adjustable that you can choose the pegs size and where to place them. At the moment, I am travelling around Asia and I can't be buying sets of looms and yarn, I have limited space, only one bag and one carry-on; but def going to try this later at some stage.

    Hey, so I don't have a 36 peg loom that looks like yours with one peg on each side of the anchor peg, I have one with a peg like on top of it, so, can this pattern still work on my loom, if so, how with the peg there, since if I try the front, I'm sure it will close

    • @michelleirby7587
      @michelleirby7587 7 лет назад

      I forgot to mention the gauge on the long limbs is much smaller than on the round looms on the oval loom that I used I cast on 40 pegs and got 15 1/2 inches across which is great because I making the tank top for my daughter who has a 29 inch waist but if you were larger you want to cast on more stitches

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Antonio Edwards hi there again! :) Sorry, I have no math technique. Here I used the maximum number of our biggest loom and it turned out in size M. We would need more pegs to make it wider... And depending on the weight of the yarn, the size turns out to be different too... Here we used DMC Natura XL Cotton

    I was wonder what size this pattern makes?

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  10 лет назад +6

      Hi Barbara! That's a good question, let's see if we can answer it properly.
      This pattern makes (more or less) a European M size because we took as a reference an M size T-shirt.
      We measured our reference T-shirt width and then we tried to get a knitted work of this same width + 2 cm more. For example, if our reference T-shirt was 40cm width, then we wanted a knitted width of 42cm.
      Before recording this video, we first casted on just 10 pegs and knitted several rows on them to see how wide was our work using just 10 pegs. Then, we could estimate that we needed 36 pegs to get our desired width, so that's why we work 36 pegs on this video. (if we had needed more, then we should had changed to a bigger loom).
      Then, once the number of pegs is decided, we cast them on and knit several rows on them. We knit this way until we get the length desired for the body of our tank top. This length should be the distance between the underarm and the lowest part of your shirt. Once you have knitted this lenght, you can continue with the other directions shown in this video (minute 4:02)
      Hope this helps...

      Maybe she doesn't speak English. Or maybe her voice s^cx. There are some knitting/crochet channels I CAN'T watch because of the channel owner's voice. (I'm a senior citizen, and DON'T appreciate being spoken to as if I'm a 3-year old!) Then, there are the obnoxious knitters who are so full of themselves. i.e., "This is so easy. It took 10 minutes to make this scarf." Meanwhile, viewers (primarily BEGINNERS) are struggling thru for hours. Not encouraging!
      I realize it's difficult to read the captions AND simultaneously do the stitches. You might try NOT reading and just watching the video. Slowing down the speed helps.
      GL!
