What rpm are you running this at to gain control of tool. Just purchased one of these for a project and this thing grabs and jumps all over

Hey Dawn! I would suggest it runs at a speed in the 9000 RPM - 12,000 RPM range. Also, you may be working on end-grain, which can make it a little hard to control. Feel free to shoot us an email with more information, and our team can assist. Cheers!

I just purchased and installed the TurboPlane, but it is not cutting the way it shows here, and there are definitely no wood chips - it throws a fine dust. When I feel the 'blades', they are not sharp. When the product comes, is it necessary to sharpen the blades first?

I see that you strongly recommend place the guard a 45° in order to operate the tool safely. However, if you uses it to plane a surface, I asume you should place the tool just flat on the surface, shouldn't you? If so, I underdstand that there is a higher risk, because you are using que whole disk, including the sector where it is dangerous. Am I tight? how can I manage to deal with that risk?

Hi there, we always recommend that you use the guard, with a bit of practice you will be able to plane the surface reasonably flat. If you are hoping to get the surface flat and need extra control then the TurboPlane can be used with our Power Carving Unit (link below). This comes with a Levelling Guide that allows for precise depth adjustment and is perfect for levelling off small and large areas.

Will the dust shield work with other grinders?

Hi there! The "dust shield" only comes with our Power Carving Unit, and we cannot guarantee that it will fit on other angle grinders.
