Terrific video! Just curious, are the menus of SL3 and Q3 the same, so if you owned both cameras for continuity would you make the settings for video and photo basically the same [understanding there are some differences between the buttons and dials]?
No, the menus are different. The Q3 looks more like the SL2 and Q2 menu. They may adapt some things in the future. The video profiles, for excample, would be great. But The Q3 is a different camera with different dials and functions. It starts with the way you change exposure mode. This happens on the lens and the shutter dial, not in the menu. Then, AF and manual focus are also changed on the lens.
Can the SL3 be set up so that the shutter closes when the camera turns off, protecting the sensor? My M10-R does this, but my SL2 does not, so I have had problems with dust on the sensor when changing lenses in the field.
As far as I know, the SL3 cannot do this at the moment. I know the problems; I had the same with the SL2. I bought a sensor clearing set at one point. Of course, this is something you need to be sure you want to do yourself. I hope they add the closed shutter in a future firmware update!
Thanks for sharing and help to teaching others
Thank you!
