WOW Great timing as I had just bought ZMans & was saying a few "Sailor Terms" while trying to put the spiral keeper in the lure! GREAT TIP! Worked as you said!! Thanks again SS!
a method i've used is to heat a dubbing needle and make a hole that way. i do that at the bench before i go fishing and makes it a lot easier having all the baits prepared.
I love the Z-Man baits and always use them but they are...or were...a pain to rig. I wish I had thought of doing this because it would have saved me a bunch of pain. :-) Great tip!!!

Highly recommend going direct to leader. And make sure to use a loop knot so that it gets the most action in the water because that'll help generate the most strikes... here's the one I like best: www.saltstrong.com/articles/kreh-loop-leader-to-lure-knot/
I prefer the 3/0 sized hook with a 1/16th oz weight for jerkbaits like this in the 3 to 5 inch range. Here's a link to see a review of my favorite hook that I've tested so far: www.saltstrong.com/articles/owner-twistlock-weighted-hook-review/
Gosh you Americans have funny ways of rigging your plastics, here in Australia we don’t use that silly cork thing we just push the hook through the bait and make it weedless, it’s much easier
Do you have any good hooks with the weights on the shank over there? The weighted shanks have been a game changer for me when fishing the shallows, and this is the best hook I've found for rigging them so far.
Salt Strong yeah we do but it doesn’t have that funny cork thing on the eye or the hook, if you just search up how to hook a weedless soft plastic in Australia on RUclips you will find a much much easier and quicker way of rigging your soft plastics
That screw is very useful on traditionnal soft plastic materials. Holds better. But in my opinion it does not worth the effort for Zman material as it has too much memory (if the screw pops out after a fight then the hole will stay as is and the screw will slide very easily after that). I experienced that many times.
Great tip. Love Z-Man lures and now it's even easier to rig up!
Glad to see that you enjoyed the Z-man rigging tip. Fish On!
Appreciate the tip on rigging these types of plastics. Always watching your videos...Tight lines never stop!

I'm new to fishing so I really don't know different from salt to fresh water fishing. Is this for fresh water?

Cool!!
Thanks S.S. nice tip
Have you tried a mustad weighted grip pin hook? Theyre the easiest to rig imo. Seems like they hold on good too.
I have not yet tried Mustad's grip pin hook. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them on my next shopping spree.
+Salt Strong great tip!
What color is the bait?
Zman floting or sinking?

Would you tie and fish this directly to leader or can you use a clip. Thanks for this great tip. Been wanting to try zman on same style hook

Remember, "You gotta keep 'em separated".
Never mix Zman with other companies soft plastics. They will melt...

Not seeing any cork, sounds like someone though, has removed a few corks!

Thats old news lol they easy to rig even if you dont poke hook point in the nose of the plastics
