Please don't ever take these two videos down. I have learned an immense amount of quiet and calm technique from you and appreciate it greatly!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
i love love love watching your tutorials! you have opened up my creativity by teaching me to let go of fear of failure! I am soo happy with my first portrait I cant believe I did it. when my husband saw it he was so impressed that he no longer balks at the money I spend on supplies...he he thank you
ALL of the best words to describe your painting techniques have been used, so I feel more than a *bit* inadequate to explain how much I love it!! Thank you for spending your precious time teaching us how it's done!! :D XOXO
Great info as beginners the shadows always look to harsh and scary ,and u think u have to overblend to get that soft look. Now I know better but it took hearing this over and over for it to sink in . Letting students know there is a ugly stage and to keep going is so helpful . You are building layers so of course u have to wait for the final touches before u judge it! Thank you for all the great advice
YOU ROCK!!!! Thank you soooo very much for the two lessons on Faces! Thank you thank you thank you. I have always admired your work and your teaching techniques. YOU are lively, fun and keep things simple. I do like that.!!! I am all about simple. If things look to complicated, I tend to walk away feeling deflated. :( You are a great inspiration. Oh and I love your little bird stamps!!!!! Happy New Year to you and yours.
I love this tutorial. I am so happy with my results. It was my first all acrylic painting and my first painting of a human face. I love this addition to my journal. Thanks bunches!!!
Oh my life can go on. Where have you been. This is just what ive needed. Thank you so much . You are absolutely awesome!!! I have found other artists but I am seeing now that you are way more my style. I have a purpose now.
I watched part 1 which was great. What part 2 really taught me was shadowing and letting my paint brush do the painting for me. I have a tendancy to be too controlling but I'm working on it. Thanks Dina. Luv ya!
Thank you for sharing this unique technique. I am trying to get away from real life expected versions of people and move more toward painting artistic versions. I will certainly purchase your book and follow you to learn more.
Why did I not know of this channel? How have I survived without this channel? OMGoodness!!! It's ALIVE!!! Or soon will be. lol You are a Goddess my dear!!! Thank You. Merci. Gracias. Danka. Or something like that. Gettin too far over the pond now, Thx Dina. P.S. And everything "tourguideali" said I cosign. even the... well XX's are sufficient I suppose, K? Keep on teachin me.
I have just come across this video and am definitely subscribed your channel your explanation makes so much sense, I really love your work. So thank you for this lesson it has certainly boosted my confidence Cheers
dina thank u for your videos!!!! these two the drawing and painting of the girls face were very good , I do many techniques great in my art drawing faces just frustrated me I don't think they will any more xoxo thanks again
LOVE your video! What great and simplified techniques. I also wanted to share how Amazed I was at the end of the video with the woman you drew, I saw my best friend looking back from the picture, only she has blue hair! You're right, she IS strong and amazing!
Well. I'm trying but mine sure doesn't look like yours. Your instructions, however, are super simple and I never would have attempted to draw or paint a face without your guidance. Thank you, Dina.
I appreciate that this was a good while ago but that's the brilliant thing about RUclips. It doesn't judge where we are in our creative journey. I'm actually doing an online & RUclips & FB course, with @karencampbell. I am sure you know her. She has been the biggest part of my drawing faces (that I believed strongly, "I can't draw anything, let alone faces"). I'll be eternally grateful to Karen, for this. Your previous video emphasised how much I have learned because the approach & basic principles are the same. Yay!! That's why I had to watch this one too. I am so inspired to stay on my current path of melding together my mixed media, with my need to draw. I was exactly how you described; using stamps or cut out images for faces. It wasn't long before I really had that 'need', to at least try. I still have a huge amount to learn and discover what does/doesn't work for me. However, the process itself is, for me, the best thing. An example is: 1 minute into this video, I hit pause and impulsively went to draw a face on a piece of cardboard!! I then stepped away "her" to watch the remainder of your girl. I cannot express how enthralling this is, and I have found a new enthusiasm, a raison d'ètre if you will? Sorry, I'm waffling on, I just get so caught up in the whole thing! Your girl is fabulous, so cool with the background & extraneous lines being part of her. The idea of adding a word is really appealing, might "borrow" that sometime, if you don't mind? Thank you very much for sharing your creativity! Caroline😃🐾
I'm new here ........You are too good to be true And a very talented lady you have my thumbs up. I love new Ideals to add to my face portraits and I'm practicing my shadows thanks so much......
