I've watched NL for a long time and sometimes I'll try some of the games he plays. This one though... This one has captivated me to the point where I'll achievement hunt, try different builds on different characters, etc. My friends and I will sit there for hours streaming each others games on Discord while we just chat because of how easy and accessible the game feels
Just 100% this game. Once you realize all the upgrades, it's pretty easy. Loved every hour
When you have bought all the power ups it does not necessarily make it easier, but keep you alive much longer. Makes getting achievements easier too. Took me 5 runs to get the 2 new achievements, the onion evolution and the birds fusion.
@@aquaventus You really only need 3 GOOD items to win a run. I've done plenty runs where I've just gone for greed passives and gone for shitty items for achievements. Evil bible + Hellfire/Upgraded Axe can win you any run no matter how bad/non combative your other items or passives are.
@@floofzykitty5072 I prefer evo Axe + evo Onion/Bible. Depends on which one i get first. My last run i only managed to find Axe around the 25th minute, even though i already had Chandelier since minute 5. Evo onion was pretty interesting, albeit hurts to look at for me.
@@aquaventus 5 runs for the new unlocks? How? Unless you were nuking your own runs how in the world. I did it on my first attempt simply because Mortaccio on Library is basically an auto win

Really hope they give it an evo soon. Maybe some split lightning on the ground outgoing from where the initial ones hit.
Seeing as how Garlic and the birds just got evos, I'm hopeful it'll come soon. I like lightning ring too, but I feel like it really wants cooldown.

@@joeyondakeys I find that if you max it out and feed it the +area item it's very good. Better than santa water, magic wand, late game garlic, and daggers. I'd say its pretty equal to cross. It's not enough to carry a run though.

I was thinking the same thing chain from strike would destroy even more than I does already with area increase and speed and cool down it gets crazy.

As of the most recent patch, the Peachone and Ebony Wings will evolve into a Vandalier bird. When they do, it then frees up a spot for another weapon.
Pentagram is only good because you got it after everything else and were able to upgrade it instantly. If you take it in a regular scenario it just stops you from leveling up
For the upgrades, you can buy the most expensive ones first. Because everything gets more expensive by a % whenever you buy an upgrade.
Im hoping this run will cause more runetracer and less lightning ring in the future.
Fair warning, the bird upgrade has 8 levels. And frees up another Attack Slot.

I feel like VS is more like a tower defense game and you're the tower and it can move and upgrade. It needs more weapons for sure and different enemy types with skills and more maps, but I think this game has pretty decent potential here.

COD is the exact same game every year, Battlefield is COD but slightly different, Assassin's Shmeed became a grind-a-thon, open world games with generic questing and base raids are all the exact same game but with different models, it's so dull. Indie games though? Now that's where experimentation and ideas can flourish.

There's a 10% markup every time you buy a powerup so it pays to refund all and purchase the top tier expensive items and consolidate your position.
They should change the markup to be based on gold spent.

Imo the evo didn't feel like it changed anything, getting 1 hp every few seconds doesn't move the needle at all. And it didn't seem like the damage was any different either. Garlic is still autopick for me, but I'll seriously consider skipping Pummarola when I have it since that upgrade also does nothing in of itself

Do you know there is an update that added Garlic evolution and Peachone + Ebony Wings evolution? Just asking cause I didn't see the two added weapons during your chest-opening animation

Hey NL, the shop upgrades get more expensive by a percentage each time you buy an upgrade. So to get the most bang for your buck you have to buy the most expensive upgrades first and cheapest ones last.
Wish I knew this before I spent 11.5k on the duplicator upgrade
I typically sleep on repetitive games, especially when there's no story, but this is mesmerizing. Fingers crossed on GOG stocking it by full release day.

Oh here me out. Have a chest on the ground ready, but don't open it. Have a level 8 pentagram thing. At 30 minutes JUST as dracula spawns in, walk into the chest and get the pentagram upgrade. This will activate the ability, possibly killing dracula?
Fully upgraded, pentagrams cool down is one minute. NL had his trigger at :22 every minute so he would just need to last 20 more seconds with dracula
It's not Dracula, it's Death. And Death has no hp. And IIRC every 30 secs~1minute past 30mins spawns 1 more Death so even if the pentagram deleted him more would spawn. I've seen many people stall till like 32 minutes by using the Freezing Lancelet but you can't beat him since the Dev hasn't added anything more past 30 mins.
Also Pentagram has no evolution, so if he got it to Level 8 It would never appear as a selection, it'd need to be 7 for the plan to work, since once you max items they never appear unless they have evolution available if you have the needed passive item. Else you only get the option to choose 25 gold or a chicken for 30 hp every level up once you're maxed.
You can perma freeze Dracula with the clock and some laurel upragrades.
However, every 20 seconds or so abother Dracula shows up and ruins your day

It's hard to survive to the end and not reach the point of everything being maxed out. But it might work

Honest question, ive been binging some of this guys videos for all over one day and I gotta question: Does he change his voice on purpose or is that just how his voiced changed over time? Sometimes he sounds like he has a canadian accent, a new york/east coast accent, and in his earlier videos he talks way faster and sounds nothing like himself now. Genuinely curious lol

Back when Luna wasn't there, he had much more energy during his videos hahaha jk but yeah he pretty much holds his accent back while streaming I guess because it's the majority of his talking during the day
You need candlelabra with lightning and it will melt the screen as well that upgrade area makes it powerful.

Yea DMC 2 was really bad but from DMC 3 onwards the series got their full charm going instead of kinda being a resident evil bootleg. DmC reboot is a bit weird in comparison to the main series though. Would be pretty cool if you did a playthrough of 3 and beyond, DMC 2 story isn't really important but DMC 3 explains why Dante recognizes Vergil in DMC 1 since it's a prequel.

I love the roast of crappy content on youtube during the mid part. It's so sad but true. And worst of all? RUclips removing the dang dislike counter so people watching that type of horrible content that gives bad advice can't be immediately flagged that it's straight up bad advice by looking at the number. It used to be an immediate cue in that something was fishy if a video has more dislikes than likes. Not anymore. It heckin blows. It wastes so much of my time now watching crap content that fries my brain instead of being able to zip through videos skipping all the sketchy disliked ones until I found something worthwhile. Still salty about the change if you can't tell.
On an actual game note, the ring of hellscape books is actually pretty pog. You should try out some bird strats even if people hate on them.

OK I am 26:08 in and the non evolved fire wand is just saving him while that useless useless lightning ring does nothing. I just don't get it. Why would anyone take that thing?

Please for the love of god someone tell NL that this game is not only about the evolutions... that there are actually items you should always take cause they synergize with every item. Like Spinach. Spinach is a must take. Every time he skips it I die a little.

Garlic decreases enemy knockback resistance. Do with that as you will :3

I am actually getting upset about the chests at the start of this video. Also lightning seems terrible. I have no idea how good the upgraded version of it is but the lower levels seem like a real drawback.

My best run last night, which I think is the 'optimal' build. It went: start with Runetracer and grab Cross, bible, Fire wand, magic wand and axe. For upgrades grab Duplicator as often as it appears as well as Tome, Candle, clover, spellbinder, spinach.
After 15 mins I could afk and be fine.
What happens if you try to pentagram the reaper?
The upgrades you buy in the menu get more expensive the more you already have, so if you refund you upgrades and buy them from most to least expensive you'll might be able to buy more.
