Percussion for Reggae? Check Nyabinghi riddim, it is the base of the percussion part in so many Jamaican productions.

Hi, a beat confused here: I thought the one drop was beat 3. So, in a 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and, the drummer leaves beat 1 off and hits beat 3. You said it's on the second beat. I would appreciate anybody helping me with this confusion. Thank you in advance.

Rockers :1 & 3
Steppers: 1,2,3,4

I think what you want is: 1,2, three, 4 is almost the same as 1& two& 3& four& (beat on the text) or even 1& two& 1& two& It's still the third beat of the count in all of these. It's just a matter of how you count it.
