In which we became demons to other religions and why we have issues showing others God Grace.

Luckily, the kid's group I grew up with just had us watch Veggie Tales and Dinosaur Train. Because the woman in charge loved Dinosaur Train...and Cosmic Brownies, she always had them.

From what I remember this cartoon was made by some small time animation company wanting to make a quick buck by taking advantage of the Christian market. The whole show feels very tongue in cheek and condescending with its christian messages and I wouldn't be surprised if the racist sushi was just the creators seeing what they could get away with, cuz at the end of the day this kind of show is gonna fly LOW under the radar.

And that instrumental song right there it also played at the end of the movie when the detective saved the Chipmunk and Chipetes from an attempted kidnapping from Claudia and Claude. They deserved to be arrested after they sent a bunch a kids to do their dirty work for them, they were after the diamonds and money. That’s what happens when you talk to strangers, you get yourselves in a heap of trouble. It was hilarious of how Alvin was asking for the money as a reward for turning in the crooks cause he wants money after what they been through. They almost got killed over the diamonds, Alvin should’ve at least been grateful they were save from harm. And heroes never ask for anything in return, doing goodness is it’s own reward.

I used to absolutely *adore* these movies as a tike (yes, including the sequels), and I still really like the first one despite its now-obvious inaccuracies! I’m from Cleveland, and I used to take huge pride seeing him (sort of) at our museum. Possibly selfish, but I even took a bit of pride when I found that my own hometown is the reason why Balto and the crew got a slightly better life at the end (though I doubt it was a great exhibit for them, given typical 1930’s Zoo standards, alongside the noted fact that it was not his home still). However, it was also odd when I first learned about Balto at the museum and learned about his life after the serum run. Yes, there was the whole “he didn’t talk and be raised by a goose and polar bears” shtick, as well as the whole Togo situation, but I also felt this mild sadness and confusion when thinking about the sequels in particular. Like, you’ve got a Balto who grew to have a bunch of kids and all, but then you had the real-life one that not only never had puppies or Jenna (or even met a Jenna), but was straight up sent out of Alaska and into abuse, neglect and exploitation. I’d even have this horrible thought of what the movies would look like had they actually followed his story after the run, like seeing animated animal neglect and totally writing off Jenna and his family. Sort of like “The Plague Dogs”, but with a happy-ish ending only in the sense that the abuse is gone, yet still far and away from Jenna, his family and his loved ones, never to even see them again (unless they’d coincidentally see each other at the Zoo again? Maybe Boris and the bears, but Jenna?).
Wait, if a piece of sushi is talking does that mean if they, for example loose a tooth or accidentally get a notch on there fin it suddenly gains sentience. That's creepy.
