I've practiced throat singing for a couple years now after watching Batzorig Vaanchig and Huun Huur Tu, and I've always wanted a Morin Khuur to accompany that. Oui pour un gaucher on inverse tout, pas seulement le sens des cordes mais aussi la construction de la caisse, la position des chevilles etc... Donc pour un gaucher il vous faudra un instrument de "gaucher". Je peux vous aider à vous en procurer un :) Sinon vous aurez à jouer comme un droitier! :)
How is the tuning supposed to sound because whenever i try to tune myself it sounds weird and when i tried a tuner app (a morin khuur tuning app) it told me to tighten when i couldn't tighten anymore and loosen when i couldn't loosen it anymore and i don't know what the tuning is supposed to be or how to get the proper tuning?

Yep exactly, the hide was in water for one day or so to be totally wet before putting it on the box then kept the moisture by puttin a bit of water every 20 30 minutes for the next 24-28 hours or so to be sure that the skin was drying equality on each part.. :) Also put some "rubber" around the skin to be sure it wasn't moving while drying! ^^;
@@jonaslang8578 First let the skin in water until it was totally soak and soft... Then took measurement and cut the part (still totally soaked with water), then put the glue on the wood and applied the skin on it while also using "rubber" to help putting pressure and strength on the skin so it would apply properly on the wood, then applied water on the skin in order to have it dry all together (from the extremety, the part in contact with the wood) to the center. So had to apply water on the middle of the skin (inside side) every 20 30 minute because if the skin dry from the middle first later it will not be in tension and also will crack more easily :) I hope it helps :D
@@uuguul Ok, now I understand, thank you :-D But I have another question on the glue: I don't have hide glue, but bone glue. It's similar, but sets quicker and needs to be warmer when gluing. Do you think I can use that, maybe if I soak the skin in warm water so I have more time when gluing it on?
@@uuguul yea, of course. I'd say I could put about 15 mins a day in. But how does it compare with more generic instruments like the guitar or piano. Plus yours seems to be the only learning program for the Morin Huur that exists in English hahaha

Yeah tuning is done by turning the peg to increase of decrease tension on the strings.

Are your strings nylon or horsehair? When you are not playing, do you loosen the strings tension?
I use Horse Hair only. No I don't loose the string of the instrument :)

@@jonaslang8578 i used warmed glue as well :) u can maybe try first with a little piece of skin on some wood just to try and see :) ^^
