    • @crappusmaximus1268
      @crappusmaximus1268 2 года назад

      @@maighdeanachniluanaigh5149 Hello! I dont know what you mean by waxed? It may be because you need to put rosin on the bow. After some time, it will apply to the strings when you play. But don’t worry if it doesn’t sound right, it will get much better over time.

    There seems to be so much sadness in the timbre of this instrument... kind of reminds me of a cello but just higher in register (more like perhaps a violin?). It's like a grandparent trying to teach they younger ones about life with zero sugar coating... that's the feel I get.

      not sure about sadness. it is more melancholy, and introspection and some loneliness. these are the themes run through the Mongol long song.

      1) If you are not in Mongolia, perhaps the best option is online. There are various online sites you can search. a. Steven Morel, b. Morin-Huur.com site, c. Mongulai
      2) If you are unable to find someone in your area who's a Morin Khuur musician, then internet, books, videos, etc....you could also try to find someone in a university who might focus on Mongolian studies.
      3) Agreed. His playing is definitely soothing.
      I'm also thinking of learning Morin Khuur.

    • @onur4055
      @onur4055 3 года назад +3

      You should definitely learn this. The Mongolic Morin Khuur and the Turkic Kobyz are the direct ascendants of all the bowed instruments. Even violin.
      Turkic and Mongolic people are the first fiddlers on earth!
