Just a quick check over all the parts that make up my 2018 Santa Cruz Jackal! It's been super fun to own and I think I ride it more often than my Enduro bike haha.
Holy shit haha. sometime around a year ago i ran into you and your jackal in watsonville, CA at pinto lake pump track. You mentioned you had an interview at specialized later that day, hope it worked out for you man! thanks for letting me ride the jackal too lol
Nice build. Don't need to change anything, but... I love my stealth hubs on my bmx, so I would change up the hubs for instant engagement and silent riding. Thanks for showing us another side!
I think it’s sick dude! If it were my dj bike I wouldn’t change a thing at all. Good the way it is for sure. I do think you would fit in quite well with that Carhart shirt here in NC. You could shred the dj in your Carhart shirt and get steezy with it! Haha no but sick bike man and can’t wait to see what the new bike is you have on the way!
Hope to run into you one day again and while riding DJs at Stafford, Lake Cunningham, or Pleasanton BMX park. Sick bike, love it. I have a P.26 with Diety bars, stem, seat, Profile hubs, cranks, and Manitou Circus coil. Although I love my bike this is the frame set I want because of the tapered head tube and threaded BB.
Nice. I'm at Cunningham park every weekend. The jumps are well maintained on Monday and Tuesdays when they are closed for maintenance. The pump track is dialed in and well packed. Dual slalom track is bumpy as I believe it's just watered down during the week. I think they should've built more dirtjumps in there instead of the track. The slope style jumps are dialed in as well. Hope to see you there someday.
If I changed anything I’d have to say Deity bars, stem, seat, etc etc. I’m biased because almost 100% of my dj components are deity, including frame. But I love their stuff, it’s some of the best out there in my opinion.
I would change the seat and seat post to a pivotal post and a big DJ seat like the Gusset s2 also the tyres I would put Maxxis DTH front and rear and probably cranks I would change them to the Shimano DXR cranks with a Hope 32t chainring. Also I would run a longer brake hose to wrap around the head tube for barspins and baller points
Hi Alex, cheers from Italy and thanks for the video. Would like to ask you how tall are you and which frame size are you riding? I’m 5 ft 7 in, any recommendations for the size? Thanks a lot!
Is it possible to get one of those fox 831 somewhere? Or should I reduce the travel of a regular 36? It seems that it’s impossible to buy it with dj presets
this looks like a robust bike, I approve of Renthal :-) I got hte same stem, stem holds on to the bar super long. IF it was mine I woudl swap the pedals to Pedalling innovations Catalyst. they are the only pedal to get, it would make a huge difference for a dirt jump bike, you will be much more stable, so on jumps you wont ''sink'' as much on landings, and of course you sohudl use mid foot position. or saddle to Fabrric Scoop, but s a DJ bike, so it's not nessesary.
Super nice bike - $700. My DJ cost me $100 nzd and even with upgrading the brakes, wheels, tyres, stem, grips and pedals it still only cost $400 nzd. That's perfect for me, since I can't jump for shit!
Hey, I want to bike this dj bike for long time but I can't find it in my country and i can't find any good deals for those bikes. So if you maybe want to sell it now I'll be happy to buy it for a good price.
Hey Alex, I heard that you didn’t like your trp quadem brakes. I’m looking for some new brakes since my brakes are really cheap and my lever is bent. I know you sis before you got them fro free so I was just wondering if you could hook me up with them if you still got them and I can get them off your hands
You ask for too many different replies... Guess the cost, what that wood thing, what type of videos do you want to see, what would you change, guess my new bike, etc. Keep it simple.
Jared Lamb never too old to start! I ride hard enduro on dirt bikes with a 71 year old, he still gets better every ride! Start on pumptracks and work your way up to DJ’s. Skateparks are extremely dangerous, in my opinion. Probably best to just master the basics on a pumptrack and bring those skills to dj’s
Three figures? Damn what a steal for that thing haha
Just the fork and wheels cost about 1000 or more
The forks cost £1200
I think that wood thing is your new bike frame to replace your specialized 😉 I mean, it certainly would be an upgrade...
$465
Those tires look outstanding. I wish Schwalbe did 26" tubeless in skinwall.
NoBrakes23 that would be bad ass! Bump up the price a few hundred lol
You can get the Nobby Nic in skinwall
Please bike weight
Baring in mind the forks cost £1200

if it was my bike i would change the saddle to a bit of a bmx style seat because i think it suits dirt jumpers more
I prefer skinnier saddle because it looks alot more aggressive and aerodynamic but yeah i do like the pivotal seats but only for my bmx so yeah imo
I prefer a seat you can grip with your knees, like an SDG Apollo.

0:57 new flats vs clipless test bed.
So sick. Please love the videos. Keep it coming maybe an enduro for beginners series. That would be super cool. I’m going to say like $850
Ty Brenninger extremely close!
That bike looks awesome!
More dj-videos would be awesome
Love my rigid NS Majesty I added a front brake to play around on now I will always run a front brake. It's too fun
1:19 guys it’s under 600 dollars he just said the time👍🏻
I love how that thing looks 🤤
$850, and that looks like a manual machine lol. Can't wait to see what are you gonna jump on next!
Your homemade roping trainer looks pretty good I'd say ;)
That's an insane build lol
Dude dirt jumps are the best part of mtb so pleeeeease make more
So sick man, great! That piece of wood in the back must be for goats to jump on.
If I changed anything I’d have to say Deity bars, stem, seat, etc etc. I’m biased because almost 100% of my dj components are deity, including frame. But I love their stuff, it’s some of the best out there in my opinion.
That horse in the back round nice
the wood thing looks like an ancient medieval artillery
Was that your new chamois drying rack in the background?
Sweet ride. If it was mine id put the blacked out fox decals on the fork. The dt swiss red is better than orange
Is the rear hub runnin a thru axle or a quick release
Like to see more dj vids. Park review would be cool. I'd put a small gusset saddle on it, that saddle looks to big to me.
Nice bike
Damn santa cruz jackal with fox shox niceeee
Yeah I want to see more dj vids
Bike looks insane only the saddle looks a bit strange because its an enduro saddle
I would change the seat and seat post to a pivotal post and a big DJ seat like the Gusset s2 also the tyres I would put Maxxis DTH front and rear and probably cranks I would change them to the Shimano DXR cranks with a Hope 32t chainring. i was actually just about to go check out the lake Cunningham park
800? i got a very very similar spec dirtjumper for that price. gotta love a good dirtjumper
have you checked out the eminent haste?
Enjoy mate
Hi Alex, cheers from Italy and thanks for the video. Would like to ask you how tall are you and which frame size are you riding?
I’m 5 ft 7 in, any recommendations for the size? Thanks a lot!
Small, I’m 5’7”
I think the grey frame would look even better
Lol I've been putting off getting a DJ since I can't find any decent ones under 1000, YT please bring back the first love at just 800$ again
The ns bikes offer two dj s at 800-1000-1500 one is the movement Aluminium frame the other is metropolis with steel cromoly frame
I’d change the seat to pivotal system for barspins n stuff
Can you only buy the frame for this bike? Thanks
Is it possible to get one of those fox 831 somewhere? Or should I reduce the travel of a regular 36? It seems that it’s impossible to buy it with dj presets
Yfrozz I’m honestly not sure. But mine isn’t an 831
EE Wing Titanium Cranks, also brown sensus grips to match tan sidewalls of maxxis ikon.
Hey, im not fully understand where i can buy this bike in full compelctayion (not only frame)
I would put the brake on the right side (left)
What’s the frame made of?
this looks like a robust bike, I approve of Renthal :-) I got hte same stem, stem holds on to the bar super long.

How did you find this bike for cheap. Please give us tips
Ty Brenninger apparently complaining on instagram lol. No but really it’s all about knowing guys in the industry!
Unfortunately it seems that the entire world is all about who you know
Alex Chamberlin trust me I know I work in a bike shop
I can tell that wood thing in your backyard is an anti-tank obstacle, to keep the army from invading your backyard.
Make a golden chain dis is so sick
Brb posting an Instagram rant about how i can't find any cheap dirt jumpers ;)
Still more plush then the enduro?...
Ryan McLaughlin oh it’s buttery!
Hello I am living in turkey how can ı take this
Planning on selling it?
I would put a gusset seat on it but that's it
0:57 roof for house in progress.
The skeleton from the elusive and hideously large grass chicken.
I use a single speed track bike for getting about, I’d say it’s just as loud as your dj
$900 What do I win?
0:57 a wooden statue in progress.
800$?
Put a Chris King BB on it!!!!
749.99 also i would change the stem to 33mm version 50mm is too long
Steven Daniels definitely not too long. Also I am 6’1” and the reach is like 419 or something
Get a Chromag Overture saddle!!!
Sweet trail dog in yard
You ask for too many different replies... Guess the cost, what that wood thing, what type of videos do you want to see, what would you change, guess my new bike, etc.
Keep it simple.
