Thats a sweet bike there! I'm still doing great with my 2005 Giant STP1, I have it set up just like that bike except I have a rear derailleur and 8 speeds, because i like to ride it places sometimes. All i have to do is put up the seat and i can ride all day, and i just drop it down to be in full hooligan mode. I love it.

That bike looks great. Can you actually buy it in that configuration or was it converted to single-speed? All the Voltage models listed on Scott's site are really strange in that they have derailleurs... Why would you put derailleurs on that bike?!! At least make it 1x. Only road bikes should have front derailleurs.

I've ridden trails, street, and skatepark all on this bike. I have replaced almost every part on the bike. Some stuff has broken: derailleurs, wheels, shifter. Everything else were upgrades. The only ramaing original parts are the frame, bottom bracket, and crank set. BB and cranks will be upgraded soon. The geometry isn't great but that is really the only draw back to how good a value this bike is. Even after all the money I've spent upgrading it's still a more affordable bike than I'd have bought from a proper bike shop, especially with full suspension. I've also learned a lot about bikes working on it over the years. It really is one of the best perchases I've ever made and hopefully it'll still be around for another 7 years.
Hey there i bought a Dirt Jumper but the back wheel axel is with horizontal sliding drop outs instead of how it is on the bike described on this video :/ sliding drop outs vs normal dropouts would really be an interesting video for me but there is none out there and i have no clue what their purpose is :/
Encoded Vision horizontal dropouts are for single speed bikes, blake has a horizontal dropout on his bike. You can slide the wheel back and forth for adjusting chain tension
Jakob Middlemiss normally it’s due to how most bikes are set up in their country, for example most brits run it on the left but loads of Americans run it on the right
yeah you can but you just got to watch out for the length of the forks as this will effect the steerer angle which will also effect the handling, try and get a fork that has about the same length from the axle to the bottom of the steerer.
