I agree about a wrestler betting on themself. Mark Henry, Christian Cage & Matt Cardona are great examples of that. Cardona especially. The man did it twice. He got himself over making videos on the internet 2012 - 2013 and then again in 2020 - 2021 when he went to the indies after being released by WWE. Say what you want about Cardona, but the man has proven twice that he can get over with the machine.

Man mark is just such a star you will never and i mean ever get guys like mark henry today heel wrestlers don't look as scary as heel wrestlers from back then alot of wrestlers now look like the typical guy you see at walmart the only people like look like actual star are the bloodline,la knight,roman reigns,the rock,drew mcintyre,rlbron breakker and braun strowman that's it but other then that all of them look the same which is truly sad.
