      мой друг ходил на наличниках танкерах в плавание ,и наблюдал такую картину не раз как америка сбрасывает целыми сухогрузами мусор в океан ,они только поучают других а сами засерают покруче других ,а это же экология и втор сырьё

      Responsabilidad de todos, no solo de pescadores. Hacer todo lo posible por reciclar, evitar productos de un solo uso (desechables), también no al consumismo salvaje y sobretodo a las empresas transnacionales que reciclen sus empaques, envolturas, etc. Y Los gobiernos que no sean corruptos y permitan planta s o empresas recicladoras.

      There are thought to be some 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste in the worlds oceans (BBC). This system collected 10 tonnes.
      It's laudable but hardly news worthy.

      speaks clearly for the fact that our seas are completely contaminated.
      This does not give hope, but it should inspire to think and change.
      Only because it is fished out at the one side, the circumstance remains that still millions of tons of plastic still load in the sea.
      Current and every day.
      There is hope only when you stop these sources and find solutions.

      Great idea, and I would love to see them soar through the items to find the good stuff! I can imagine how many cameras and phones they were found in the ocean that have floating waterproof cases on them!

      What’s the point when China won’t? They are (by far) the largest consumptive force in the world by a humongously disproportionate margin. And that’s just their middle class, not the working class, not the ultra wealthy (their wealth is distributed slightly differently than ours here in the US). Every nation besides China HAS to team up to stop them or else it’s rearranging the furniture on the titanic. I’m not anti-China, I simply understand the scale of their economy and how they do things. It’s the wrong way. Corners are cut, and the officials don’t care unless someone finds a new way to increase China’s GDP (which is total horse crap btw)
      Eyes open america, this isn’t your mess that we are cleaning. It’s Asia who does not care for Mother Earth.

      Everyone else sees garbage, I see gold.
      Countries would see someone profiting, and then regulate the cleanup out of existence, or take it over and make it cost too much to do.

      Unfortunately this is pointless. Fukushima dumps millions of gallons of nuclear waste water into the ocean every single day. This has been going on for 11 plus years. That is what will eventually kill everything in the oceans.

      It'd be cleaned up in a day if that many boats all took in 100,000lbs of trash. 100,000x500,000= 50,000,000,000lbs of trash....go help them if youre feeling so impressed by the amount. It's easy to say things you don't mean on the internet, but it is a dangerous and self serving way to live your life. Everyone says they can help, but few people actually do and far fewer still when there is no monetary gain involved.

      Огромное количество мусора просто смывается в море реками, а есть страны которые сами тупо вывозят мусор в море и выкидывают в воду

      As a fisherman who collects any rubbish and takes it home with me, that is not a fair solution, you’ll also find a fair amount of that water is washed into the ocean from rivers, floods and country’s that’s have monsoons, high winds or are quite flat in general

    This needs to be greatly expanded and cleaning up the ocean should become its own industry, creating jobs while cleaning envoronmental catastrophes up.

    I wish people like this got awards for all the hard work they put into trying to keep the oceans healthy it doesn't look like much compared to the people who are at something like the Oscar's but it should be and too me it's a breath of fresh air to see this being done

    For every load pulled out, it's probably saves hundreds of seals, turtles, etc, etc. I've seen the rescuers chasing seal to free them from net and plastic. Great work!! We need more of these.

      This is more then a 1,000 mile journey. The ship getting 1-2 miles per gallon. They used the same weight in heavy oil or Diesel.

      ​@@trampingwithcosmo6848 probably not. Very little plastic actually gets re-processed. It's quite the expensive process, the plastic has to be sorted and clean before a buyer will accept it, many countries have banned the impression of plastic waste.
