I met Chris Osgood a couple of times at Puckmasters Training Center in Wixom where he takes his son Max to skate and train to become a goalie. He's the nicest person you'd ever meet.
I saw him in Plymouth walking into a dry cleaner lol I was sitting in my car in a parking lot next to the place. I legit wanted to run up to him and say hi but didn't wanna be one of those crazy fans who bug a guy when he's just trying to get some errands done.
Ozzy was my idol growing up. I played hockey for years and my position was always goaltender and I always refused to use one of the "modern" helmets even tho everyone else had them with their own paint designs n shit. I always rocked the old school red helmet that Ozzy used. It's the only piece of hockey equipment that I still own. Growing up watching those teams and playing and trying to emulate Ozzy helped make so many special memories for me growing up. I'll always remember those times as some of the best of my life.
LOL precise go to with such an inspiration for me that my nickname is "Ozzie" and yes I'm a goaltender around greater Grand Rapids area .. hell I wouldn't be surprised if someone recognized me just by reading this comment😄 .. I'm more known than I'd like to be but its all good.. but yeah once I discovered Dominik Hasek I then became a super fan of his butt collaborated the two but it was because of Chris Osgood why the name stuck and why I started to play in the first place!
Great video! THIS is the stuff fans want to see. And he is talkative, detailed, paints the picture, covers not only the obvious but the forgotten and memories fans would never hear about.
A reminder of how humble and down-to-earth Ozzie and many Western Canadian players are. Little did we know, during the taping, Al S. was out doing his business on a snow pile…
i always hated that arena so much that snd the palace i like the silverdome more the thing i hated was that it was not in detroit it is better than ford field especially with seating capacity and size just wish it was built in the city
It's amazing how things change. I remember when it was built and the reviews on it were mixed, at best. But it was a very intimate building and the NHL players all said we had the best ice, whatever that means. I was sorry to see it go.
i agree im an islanders fan and as nice and high tech as our new arena is i wish the islanders never moved from nassau coliseum . the small town feel of going to islanders games is totally gone now. i wanted to go to a game at the joe in its last season but never made it
Wow. I was one of those kids who was lucky and had a chance to tour the Joe and meet Z and Pav and Babcock. Memories I'll cherish forever.

I go there from time to time. Bummer I've never seen him there. He seems like a nice guy

whoever painted the 96-97 roster misspelled Vlad (Vald) Konstantinov
That's a little inside joke with the boys. It was on purpose.

The old G.I.Joe fan in me mixes with the Red Wings fan - I have to yell YO JOE!!!!!!
So THAT's where the mustache idea came from. Ozzie is great haha. Interesting he called Lidstom the best captain.
Stingray I want to say that he was talking about Yzerman since he said "Lidstrom and Yzerman, in my estimation the best captain of all time."
Yeah, I agree. He was talking about Stevie
Detroit is and always will be Hockeytown.
Frickin awesome…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Chris Osgood and Mike Vernon are arguably the friendliest goalie tandem of all time. Patrick Roy might disagree!!
I know life goes on, but it will always be sad to see things like this
Thought the guy in the red was gordon ramsey in the thumbnail
Tarik Alkaisi glad I wasn't the only person to think that
Wheres Zetterberg on the captain thingy?
I thought I'd see Ozzy Osborne.
Note: All of the punches on the doors 02:05 👀
thank you for this. lets go red wings
I thought it was going to be Ozzy Osbourne.
Very sad to lose the joe

Who spells Murphys name wrong amongst a bunch or Russian names
Ozzie, not Ozzy. Just sayin 🤷
4:22....that's funny as $hit
Goalies are weird
lol Osgood and this guy are flirting pretty hard..
I maintain that they should’ve completely renovated the Joe it was the definition of iconic
