      It’s not disorganized. It’s organized according to what he needs to make his lifestyle function most efficiently and effectively as possible. He has carved out everything he doesn’t need, and implemented everything he does need, over years of spending a lot of time and money figuring it all out.

Now that I've finished watching this video, I can say that I am in awe still. This was so cool. I find it fascinating how people live their lives. I have a similar space with a CNC mill etc...and a couple of FDM Printers. Occasionally I will kick on a really powerful exhaust fan that "augments" the natural air flow...and break out the leaf blower. I do it at night....because when I did it once in the day I found it embarrassing.
      I too like Casey's space. I subscribe to the belief that the best stuff is the stuff you make yourself. I too love having the only one of something on the planet.

I have a similar peephole setup for office. It's like 15$ and made by Switronix. Search ....gopro battery eliminator. Not that you will read this but might as well pay it forward!

    I am super happy I watched this!
    I never realised how alike I was to Casey and his studio, in terms of making it work and sorting things. I realised Casey quintessentially has my dream studio.
    I can agree with every single thing he says about making your own stuff, too!
    The only difference is my studio is also my bedroom and is f*cking tiny! (but I make it work!)
    this gives me so much more confidence to create and I hope this comes to mind when I get depressed about not having my own house.
    I know you`ll probably never see this, but;
    Thanks for sharing what your studio is like and some of the story behind it, Casey!

Coming back to ur channel after so many years & seeing how far you’ve come is incredible with just a couple thousand subscribers to millions of people it’s crazy to see that growth and I love it because you’ve always kept the same “aesthetic”, the way you do things now is no different which I like & it’s cool seeing more things on the shelves & walls seeing things that where not there, new and improved tech. It’s so cool you kept all the stuff if not most of the stuff, well I hope this message finds you well & keep on rockinn 😎

    • @robonick3607
      @robonick3607 5 лет назад +17

      Roger Marks i will guarantee you it’s about compression. A DVD illogically and simultaneously processes and plays moving, digital image. It is compressed and very under utilized. It is also extremely low quality image.

    • @robonick3607
      @robonick3607 5 лет назад +26

      VHS has tape richness and is fully processed off the bat. It is a spectacular medium to watch film on, and is better made. Also, it has a manual component which is considered far more reliable than that of the DVD which if scratched could (sometimes) be rendered useless.

      What's considered to be the best format for storage?

    • @Pearcey80
      @Pearcey80 8 лет назад +41

      glowfishin1 It's up to debate.
      The obvious would be digitally on a flash drive. DVDs had very limited space and output, but contemporary SSD drives don't have such limitations. Harddrives also last for a very long time without having to be maintained and store files with no noticeable degrading or loss of quality. However your quality will be stuck at what is the industry standard at that time, this is the nature of digital recording. Just 10 years ago 480p was the standard on youtube, now we're at 1080p, no doubt in a few years most would have adopted 4k resolution.
      Personally I stand by 70mm or 35mm film stock due to their ready availability, relative low cost, tactility and the fact that film stock has an infinite resolution (the reason why older films from the 1920s can be remastered in 1080p or 4k). However film reel easily degrade in quality (why not many older films can be remastered), are highly combustible, arguably difficult to manage and store, and more expensive than the digital alternative.
      It's quite a simple conflict: digital offers you convenience and security whereas film reel offers you higher quality at the cost of inconvenience and possible quality loss over time. This is also the reason why cinemas all use digital projection instead of traditional film reels these days, few people really notice the quality difference between the two but digital storage is both safer and more reliable.
      Sorry for the long post this is just a topic I'm interested in (hence my initial comment).
