His dad took him with him at 13 to play professionally. He played for 25 years. Till he was 38. What a loss. His dad told me he thinks of Eddie every day.
Dickey Betts said he saw something special in Eddy, that’s why he gifted Eddy his first guitar, a Gibson ES335, and then went on to teach him to play to become the monster player he was. That’s pretty freakin cool.
I love Billy Joe and his son. It's still really hard for me to believe they both have passed away. Miss these wonderful, precious guys. Hope their making music in heaven for all the other angels. God bless them both
Eddy was great! Left us way too young! I miss that Texas ! Libertarian, free and unique to the other 49 . Sadly it wasn’t that long ago; but it’s never coming back!
I can only imagine was what Randy Rhoads would be like if he was a live today. I think he was best and only what 21 years old . Look up Dwight Yoakam little sister with Eddy shaver . The tone he gets out his guitar is unbelievable some of the best I heard.
This is why I loved Eddie when I first heard him. It was like putting the most blazing metal shredder with the most hardcore old time traditional country singer with a cooking country band. And Billy Joe loved his son’s playing, you can tell. Eddie is such a fucking legend, words cannot express it. Look at his right hand technique. Amazing. No pedals. No frills. Just… Eddie.
When this old world is blown asunder, and all the stars fall from the sky, remember someone really loves you, we’ll live forever you and I.
Eddy Shaver was the best guitar player that nobody knows about…what a shame. He was an AMAZING player!
Eddie was the best. And it seems only the worthy ears know his name. 🙏
Yes he was .... I have had the good fortune of seeing many famous guitarists live ... I believe Eddy is the best because of his versatility ...

One of the greatest guitar players ever......Eddy Shaver!
Damn I miss Eddy and his dad, Billy Joe Shaver.

What a great interview with BJS. Talking about playing guitar after the sawmill accident. Playing with a little shorthand. 😂

Eddy’s skill is up there with Hendrix and Duane Allman.
He was taught by Dickie Betts ( Allman Bros. Band )
how do i know who little uzi vert but not this guy..wake up mericans!
Eddy was his own man, but this reminds me a lot of Randy Rhodes, Mr Crowley solo.
