Apparently this is not uncommon. It doesn't happen all the time, but for some people this is a "perfect" job.
I love that he didn’t even consider grabbing one of the surgical items to defend himself.
This story was an enjoyable experience of dramatic irony. I figured it out from the beginning, but it is fun waiting for the protagonist to realize.

If you want to fall asleep, this is where you belong! Very gentle voice, almost monotone cadence , no sound effects, barely any background music, no other voices but the narrator. This will put you straight to sleep!
I listen to the stories the first time, and I play old ones that I've already heard a few times to go to sleep to.

I've read others saying that, but I love the stories too much to fall asleep! And yes, often times, it's easy to know what's going to be the ending outcome, but I still love the soothing voice "reading" me a story to sleep. :)

This story has so many holes it’s more comedy than horror . He didn’t figure it out till he was in a morgue 😂 he’s surrounded by sharp blades but doesn’t pick one up ? 😂 it’s so silly
When your actually in the situation, you don't do what you think you would. Looking at it from the outside it's easy to judge and point things out, but in the moment it's far different because your dealing with your own emotions going haywire and your not thinking clearly, especially if your fight or flight instinct kicks in. You may think you'd stay and fight but it's likely you'd be the one to just run and try to gtfo.
The whole time he's in conflict with his mind to know whether she's a threat or not plus he actually likes her or felt some emotion towards her so he didn't wanna alarm her or do anything that could escalate the situation he was in .. actually makes sense ..imo

This reminds me of a Brooklyn 99 plot.
I feel like the ending kinda ruined it. The image of a murderer sadly staring at you as they let you go is way more haunting than the obvious twist of “boo, she’s back!” Having a warning isn’t as scary since you have time to prepare for her return instead of spending the rest of your life wondering if she really let you get away that easily
thats kinda the trend with a lot of these shorter horror stories. they try to fill you with dread upon the return of the character, rather than leave you wondering if the prot will truly ever feel safe. same issue with another of these stories i heard, something about an elevator game these 2 kids play in an apartment that ends with one of them disappearing. imo its so much more satisfying when the ending isnt good or bad, just left up to imagination.
These story endings work for people who lack imagination. I agree with you because it would leave him with PTSD and a lifetime of numbing fear, which is far worse.

The narration was great on this, but the OP being so blatantly stupid as to not realize she was a necrophiliac until 2/3rds of the story pulls me out of it. It was certain at the "she loves my cold hands" part after making him play dead for her repeatedly.
