Dude...you rock! I was so tired of lukewarm showers despite having steaming hot water in the rest of the apartment. I followed your instructions and it took me about two minutes to fix it. Didn't even have to turn off the water. Now I have HOT showers! Thank you!
You have helped me twice now, first when I first moved into my house with this particular and specific valve cartridge, and your video showed me how to adjust the hot vs cold, and now almost three years later, after a freeze split the cartridge down the side and I needed to replace it. I tried all over the place, even going to a professional plumbing supplier, and they couldn't even find this cartridge in their catalogue. Came here, got the product number for the set, and in under 2 minutes I had the replacement cartridge ordered.
Thank you for this! I’m a young girl in my first place and everything house related seemed so overwhelming at first. Following this video though I was able to figure out/fix my cold shower issue. Thank you so much!
The guy who fixed the leak in our faucet "fixed" the hot water inhibitor. It's so cold it's barely tolerable for showering. I've been boiling water for baths. This video saved me so much stress. Thank you!
The exact shower I have, the only difference is in the adjustment, I don't back out the hex till it comes out, only till I can slide off the handle and I place a wash towel of towel over the drain incase I fumble the screws. Great video, well presented and clear.... thank you for posting, we now have nice hot showers and after two ruptured disk back surgeries I thank you after a long days work at UPS.
You are the f'in man. We just moved into a new home and my wife was disappointed to find out her jetted tub didn't get very hot. Watched this 3 minute video and fixed it within 10 minutes. My stop limit valve was a little different looking than this but seeing how it functioned I was able to easily figure it out. Thank you my wife is both impressed and excited :)
I just put this exact shower kit in and freaked out because I had almost no hot water pressure. I would have never figured it out without your video. Thanks!
AHHHHH. I can finally have a HOT shower or bath!!!!!!!!! It was literally going to take my maintenance company an ENTIRE month to do what took me about 2 minutes once I found the right size tool. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Like the other comment said - dude you ROCK!
I was at a hotel with barely any hot water looked up “how to get more hot water from shower faucet” and was not disappointed when it was the same one from the video! 1 win for me 0 for the hotel.
I'm deployed at the moment and my awesome wife managed to move to our new home with all FIVE of the kids after closing got pushed back. One of my to-dos when I get back is basically this, going by what she told me I figure the valve is worn or scaled up because the water cycles from full-hot to full-cold when they try to use the upstairs faucet. Love the channel by the way
Thanks! Just bought a home and everywhere but the shower had hot water. Guess that was missed in inspection. You helped me solve my problem! Looks new hardware was installed without adjustments.
I needed this, contractor never adjusted valve in my boys new shower. Saved me another day of them arguing with their sisters about sharing the girls bathroom!!!!
Thanks. The instructions say to remove the ring but don't mention taking off the little screw and the shaft. That makes a huge difference. Thanks again.
i did enjoy, we had to wait for our plumber for 3 days for hotter water and if i knew the valve was right there i would've done it myself. now i can thanks pops 😂
Thank you so much you saved me money plus headache. Guy who installed it for me was telling me he needs to break the tiles or cut the wall from other room.
Just getting ready to install one and read the "directions"...yeah...first video I saw and spot on great explanation and capture of the work. THANK YOU
This is such a great video. So easy to follow and easy to make the change. Be careful...you can make a blazing hot shower after watching this! Thank you so much.
DONE! Hot water FIXED in about 2 minutes with the right tools. ...used #2 pretty tiny allen wrench. ...had to do this in my other apartment too, as they probably want hot water savings, or as protection from scolding tenants, or misinformed maintenance guys.
Thank you so much for this video I just had our bathroom remodel and put a walk in shower the water only got luke warm now it gets good and hot thanks again for this video
a plumber told me I needed a mixer to get hot water to the shower but after watching your video I fixed it myself, the wife says thank you she can take a HOT shower again only turned the handle screw about one or 2 turns so it didn't fall out but had towel over drain just in case Thanks for the video
Woohoo. I did it. Thank you. I thought I had to buy a new handle/cartridge. Nope! Not quite as tight as I'd like it and I'm afraid the handle will come off but we'll see. Don't think I got that tube "this portion" at around 2:14 back on quite right either. It doesn't lock into place or it's not held by anything, but hope this will work. Water is HOT! Thank you!
Thank you for the video. It was exactly what I needed to know! 😮Oh, the blue ring turns, not the black gear type things inside! 🧐I was trying to turn them. Thank God the sleeve didn't come off when I tried it, otherwise, I would be buying another set right now!👷🏽♀️
I had a hot water heater replaced last year. The old unit had 2 control panels and when they installed the new hot water heater they said 2 was not needed. They installed the control panel in the kitchen. There was 1 in the kitchen 1 in the master bath with the old unit. Do you know what could cause no hot water in the master bath now? The no hot water started probably around 2 weeks after installing the new unit. It's only the master bath every other part of the house gets hot water. It's a tankless unit. Any info is much appreciated.
Thank you. Just moved into a new house and the builders had this at the lowest temp. Been trying to figure out why my shower was like warm and my sink water was scalding hot.
This is helpful to get the idea. Thanks for making the video! I have a different model, and I wonder to adjust the hot water, do we need to shut down the main water line downstairs before adjusting it? Thank you!
After you take the screw out, the metal piece just comes off. But ours won’t, is it stuck? Or does that happen to some people where they need another step?
I found that I didn't need to remove that trim collar. It seemed to be a bit of a struggle even for you, and mine didn't want to budge. But it was easy enough to slide the O-ring off and adjust the stop with the trim collar still on. Very helpful video, thanks!
I work at a hotel. We just bought some of these valves. The plumber is long gone but he didn't check for hot water. Did you have to shut off the main water to do this project? Anti scold is also new to me.
The only reason to shut the water off is if you're going to unscrew that ring to pull the cartridge out, even unscrewing that ring will cause the pressure to shoot that cartridge at you like a bullet.
I am going to try this, We have scolding hot water in our sink faucets throughout the house, but both our showers only get up to comfortably warm for showers, we can never take a nice steamy hot shower. And have had water heater at 100% just to get showers warm enough to use. I hope this works on our model of fixture. Ill post back. If it works, I can turn the water heater down and save $$. UPDATE, Wow, it was even easier on my model, no washer to mess with. Max water temp was 102, made a small adjustment and now 115 to 116, does not sound like much of an increase but it is, Still room to adjust more if I need to when I turn the water heater down, Thanks! Finely a shower or bath that will actually help my aching back. I have been at this place for a year now and I could have been taking hot showers rather than pretty warm showers all that time.
I have the exact same valve and it’s leaking but the ring will not come off. I’ve tried WD-40 and channellock but will not budge. Also used a hammer and flathead screwdriver. Any suggestions?
Do you have to shut off the water to do this? I just found this video.... thank you for this... we been needing to do this especially now with winter coming.
What if you can’t adjust it far enough? My option is turning it one way where there is absolutely no motion at all or the far end of the range where it’s just some cold water
What if that piece you remove before the black rubber band, is stuck??? Have the same thing but that one piece is stuck and I can’t move on from there. Pls help
No most shower valve components are packed individually including the cartridge, there is no setting done at the factory, it’s up to the installer ( plumber) to use a thermometer and adjust the stop to the desired temp. All replacement shower valve cartridges in america have a scald guard max stop of 120deg .
Mine looks diffrent inside it doesn’t have the second screw it just has a hole on the stem thingy I tried to see if the screw is inside it but I don’t think there is
Question! I just installed this shower valve! All sinks have HOT ass water except the shower. I looked at the manual and did as you did, well i went all the way to the hot side. Water is just warm 🫠
That knowing your specific situation I cannot answer that but I can tell you that most of the manufacturers are very very good with their technical support, so I would suggest calling the manufacturer
Tip: When working on any faucet etc. in a bathroom, cover and/or close all drainage in sinks, bath or shower to prevent losing screws, clips and anything else you're working on from going down the drain. This includes lights above the sinks, the securing nuts have a habit of making their way to the drains.
Hello, thanks for the video. I have one important question. I don't want to disturb other people's use of water in the house, so do I have to shut off the main water line in order to do this, or can I just do it while is on?
Please help our sink get hot water but shower only get cold and yes we have adjusted the shower valve and then changed to new valve too but still cold only what could be the problem and how to fix it or can the plumbing fron inside only be cold water only please help 🙏

I just fixed it and had my first truly hot shower in almost a month. Thank you again. Words can not describe the joy I'm feeling
Thanks for this. You have one of the only videos of this series valve.

I have seriously been filling my bath from the sink for a year to get a decent hot bath. You're the best man!

i did enjoy, we had to wait for our plumber for 3 days for hotter water and if i knew the valve was right there i would've done it myself. now i can thanks pops 😂
Very informative. Why is my pressure lower now? How to correct this?
Thank you so much you saved me money plus headache. Guy who installed it for me was telling me he needs to break the tiles or cut the wall from other room.
Thanks for the video. My hot and cold are reversed with this same valve. Can I just pull out the cartridge and flip it to correct it?
Wow I thought I was going to have a huge problem in my new home ! Thank you. “We have hot water!!!!”
Me too ! I love my hot showers !!
I was able to fix our newly installed showers and now we can take hot showers again! Thank you!!

This was very helpful. I replaced a shower and was living with people frustrated with my work.
This fix worked for me. The pieces inside were a little different for mine, but this was close enough. Thanks!

I was only getting burning water on a new install
It’s now beautiful temperature cold & hot
Thanks to this video 👍🏻 many thanks for sharing
What is the part before the o-ring? That one held in by a screw. Mine to stuck on, probably cause of calcium build up. How do I get it off?
Same here
I sometimes put painters tape over the drain when dealing with small parts so I don't accidentally drop it down the drain
I was thinking put a towel or rag over the drain first. The tape will ensure it doesn’t get moved.
I just lost that little screw down the drain a minute ago 😂 time to go to the hardware store
I've been freezing for 2 years for nothing. Thanks for the video.

Great video! All the other Videos didn’t depict my shower cartridge but this one was on the money!
Thanks brotha. My apartments won't fix the issue after a month on the work order. Gonna do it myself.
Do you have to shut the water off first
No
Great video! Simple, to the point, gets the job done. Keep up the great work!
