    It is an easy project to adjust the hot water temperature either up or down for a delta shower/tub valve. There are a few different types of valves and rotation limit stops but most of them will work in a similar fashion to the one in this video. Let me know if you have any additional questions by leaving a comment to this video and best of luck with your Everyday Home Repairs!

    Fixed it for me in less than 5 min. Just finished bathroom remodel and I was dreading have to call contracture about this issue. Fixed it myself. It was even easier with with the delta universal valve. The plastic ring is labeled “adjustable” and you just pull it out slightly and turn it left, dont even have to take it off. Thank you so much!!

    I just followed this guys directions. I was only getting warm water at the master tub/shower combo. I was literally going to pay some plumber to do this--I think i just saved at least a $100 service call!!! I did it. All done. I have hot water again! Thank you so much!! Now to get the melted plastic off my dishwasher heating element...sigh.

    I have pfister shower. But also has the anti-scalding valve. As I watched this video, it's not even a valve issue. It's basically a limiter device to limit the handle/valve from opening. Mine was slightly different than the Delta as shown, but still the same concept. I was done in 5 minutes. Thanks so much. No more cold showers here

    Just now watching (March, '23). Almost a great video - lacking was what we couldn't see when your hand was covering the 'adjustment' (could you have moved the camera to the side?).
    Also - like the others I watched - you should have advised viewers to close or cover the drain so when the Philips head screw gets dropped it doesn't get lost ('cause it's gonna happen, sooner or later!). 😀
    I appreciate the instruction, as we replaced the water heater and needed more hot water in the shower. I'm assuming the previous owners negatively adjusted the valve to make the lack of hot water last longer (we had to cut a door into the block foundation to replace the hot water heater). Your video is 4 years old, but will never go out of date!

    So easy, mine didn't have the adaptor with the screw, just had to remove the handle with the supplied allen wrench. However, it would be good to note that your faucet is sort of backwards to mine, I had to turn my white plastic threaded thing COUNTER-clockwise to make it warmer.

    I stripped my screw trying to get it out. Some deltas have a set screw in that inside screw that also needs an Allen wrench. I wish mine had been easy like this one. So to others be careful if you have a tiny screw into side of this gold screw it has to come out and then both plastic guards pried off to move. They didn't just turn to the right. But still thanks for the video. Just watch a few until you find one with your delta faucet.

    Hi could you help with my question, why does the temperature in our water change when showering? For example, say someone is in the kitchen and they decide to wash their hands while someone is showering the temperature in the shower will turn either too hot or too cold, Why is that?

    • @EverydayHomeRepairs
      @EverydayHomeRepairs  4 года назад

      Hi Tiffany, it would be my guess that your shower water lines branch off of your kitchen water lines. So when someone runs the kitchen faucet or dishwasher (runs on kitchen faucet water source) then the hot and cold water running to your shower is impacted without you changing the position of the valve in the shower. This is not an uncommon problem and to fix it would take a bit of plumbing work. All the best!

    You are probably never going to see this but if you are trying to do a close up of an item in your hand, you can place it in your palm and have your hand take up most of the screen space and the camera should then auto focus better for you.
    I just mention this for when you were trying to show the numbers on the limiter plate. This trick isn't 100% but it is an option to help getting the shot.
