This video lecture covers the following topics for B.Sc (Ag.) first year students of SASRD, Nagaland University.
Description of Azolla, species of azolla, nutrient concentration in azolla, azolla as biofertilizer, azolla in rice field, azolla and rice, factors affecting azolla production, benefits of azolla, azolla as an aquatic fern in symbiosis with Anabaena, cyanobacteria, blue green algae, BGA, cyanophyta, pond scum, free living nitrogen fixers, importance of cyanobacteria, photosynthetic diazotrophs, heterocyst in Anabaena, peptidoglycan, murein, nitrogen fixation by Anabaena, distribution of cyanobacteria in the earth including antarctic region, cyanobacteria early colonizers of earth
Nice presentation
Which scientist discovered the blue green algae as a nitrogen fixer in paddy field??
What are the marketting techniques for Biofertilizer
Thanks sir
What about -BMAA and its relation with brain diseases? I'd be worried if i use azolla for fodder
Any food containing the amino acid alanine can lead to creation of BMAA.
You will get more BMAAs eating fish. From a study on BMAAs, "In any case and as summarized in this review, BMAA effects in human cell lines and in animals are consistent with the hypothesis that chronic exposure to this neurotoxin can trigger features of sporadic neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease."
"The “neurotoxin hypothesis” for sporadic neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (PD). Chronic intestinal exposure to β-N-methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA) may trigger neurodegeneration by promoting protein misfolding, mitochondrial dysfunction and innate immune responses in genetically susceptible individuals, initially in the enteric nervous system (ENS) and later in the central nervous system (CNS) through retrograde transport via the vagus nerve."
Sir aap book padh rahe hai kya
In total how many species of Azolla?
