Very inspirational presentation. I am inspired to invest in Aquatic farming and promote Azolla farming. There is need to build a critical mass of Azolla farmers to turn this into a viable project

Beautiful and interesting video, very well done! Also an interesting technology - if it can be fed to fish then I can see huge potential for combining it with aquaponics for intensive solar-powered urban agriculture.

      Pond fish love azolla.

but I heard that azolla is highly invasive, would it , being the fish feed, help keep it from overtaking water ecosystems?

It can be fed on many types of livestock

PROJECT AZOLLA : From floating fern to renewable resource. Great video on the potential of aquatic farming with a special plant: the fresh-water fern Azolla. Through its unique capabilities, Azolla can provide new business to marginal lands while at the same time replace existing resources for food, feed, chemical and biofuel industries. Azolla provides an innovative way of sustainable, renewable farming. theazollafoundation.org/

I grow azolla now and it is indeed a wonderful fern, is there any way we can use this as direct fuel for MFC's? Thanks

Wow! I was thinking that its quite the same as Spirulina :D haha anyways...
Thank you for these valuable information.
I already started my own azolla culture, and its very useful.
Azolla is really amazing. Thanks for sharing this vid.

Azolla culture should be made a top priority among agrarian communities specially in Integrated farm set up. Let alone the end products like lipids, proteins and amino acid we are in a era where agriculture should be made free off chemical usage as much as possible, in a country like India where Azolla is directly used as feed for fish in aquaculture, feed for cattle, Nitrogen fixation is very useful in rice cultivation and azolla having high biomass be used in Bio-Gas production and feed in poultry the list goes on and on. But there is very limited people to create awareness among marginalized farmers who pump a lot of resources on chemicals.
    That's a sad story

I was growing Azolla in unison with other bioremediative species and found a few very unique bioprocessing relationships that I would love to speak more to you guys about. Is there any way I could get in contact with the team? Many thanks & Kind Regards. :)

Extracting oil from a 1st rate fodder will never be practical. Azolla will always
be more profitable as a fish or cattle food.

A produção de azola pode ser de no mínimo 400 ton/ha/ano. Depende das condições de cultivo adubação. Qualidade da água . Uso de sombrite. Temperatura etc. Seus cálculos de 45ton/ha/ano. É muito baixo para azola.
