The phone experts also never were definitely able to prove Jen McCabe did not make the search at 227am. Her husband, the IT guy imo is the one that deleted it and covered the tracks.

I have long believed that KR was never even at 34 Fairview. I think John got a ride with someone at the bar and she left from the bar to go to Johns house. That’s why she said to Jen McCabe they need to go back to the bar to look for him. It was McCabe who redirected her to 34 Fairview. KR was so frantic at this point, she just assumed JM knew better. Little did she know. 😢

Poor Trooper Paul. He was scared to death & stammering. Clearly no expert in his field. I was so embarrassed for him. As a juror, I would not put any confidence in anything he said.
He was put in a bad position.
Trooper Paul sounds like a toddler at times with his speech, so yes, I felt sorry for him at times too.
Bless his heart he probably believed he did a good job.
I didn't feel like he was being intentionally deceitful, I felt like he was given terrible information and I'll bet when he was working the scene he scratched his head on multiple occasions!
He was probably told, a brother in law enforcement was murdered by a woman who intentionally hit him with her SUV...tell us how it happened.
Now on the stand, of course he has to defend his work.

He could have told Lally “I cannot truthfully testify to this theory of the accident” and that would have been the end of it because Lally cannot knowingly suborn perjury. In my view, he’s getting the treatment he deserves in people thinking he’s an incompetent liar.

First, keep in mind Celebrite report clearly indicates a search was made at 2:27 and deleted. So the defense witness is simply supporting/verifying this evidence.
There is an old brainteaser. “If a chicken and a half laid an egg and a half, how much would a pound of butter weigh?” Many people answer, “a pound and a half.”
However, the answer is “1 pound.” A pound of butter will always weigh a pound- nothing can change that fact. The prosecution witnesses say lots of words that are confusing to a jury, but if my understanding is correct, none of it matters.
A Write Ahead Log (.WAL) file is a temporary file that is never updated once it has been flushed to the database. Think of it like a time capsule that has been sealed. If Jen put her search in a time capsule and locked it under ground for eternity, then anything that happens after the fact is irrelevant.
I will give the prosecution possibly one (unhelpful) point. These (WAL) files are “flushed” out at regular intervals. Perhaps every 5 minutes (estimate). But all that means is the search may have been done between 2:22 and 2:27 - either way it’s before the timestamp on the WAL file.
If you want more detail, let me know. There is more to this.
As far as the deletes. Notice how the prosecution witnesses don’t agree, and both seem confused about the deletes. This is a horse of a different color. I can explain my theory on that as well if you want me to.
Keep in mind, the gold standard Celebrite report supports the defense not the prosecution.
It potentially perhaps maybe could have but potentially could have been wildly wrong. But could have been right too, correct? 🤦🏻♀️

What a roller coaster of emotions. Laughter, surprise, confusion, sadness. I have for a long time felt JOK was mayby a little commitment avoidant. He sounds like a lovely, gregarious person who easily made connections with others. This does not negate from the possibly he was also not great with committed romantic relationships.
Thank you Melanie for your compassion and understanding what Karen has been through. I can relate to her illnesses and pain. Crohns disease is a killer. Imagine 10 operations on her intestines. Multiple Sclerosis too. Even the biologics have awful side effects.
My theory is that John could not make a commitment. She started feeling rejected. Im sure he had his own demons with trauma as well. Its just really sad life was so difficult for them both. May God heal Karen and the O’Keefe family.

The reason all trooper heads are shaved is so that they weren't memorable to the jury. The goal is to make the jury only remember the last trooper to testify, who is both very presentable and has his full head of hair. He is the jury's final memory of a "trooper".
However, it backfired. Trooper Joseph Paul, even with his shaved head, was painfully memorable more than any other witness. Also, blending shaved heads will never make the jury forget Proctor's behavior.

I felt so bad for him. He obviously doesn't speak well & while it's not how someone says something, it's what they say that's true, this officer is disposable to them. Whether or not he knew the info or was told it was good enough won't ever be answered, I think he kept challenging Jackson because he had been reassured.

Here we are eight weeks into testimony and we have no idea how this happened or what his cause of death was. I’m beyond frustrated. We all believe she’s innocent and the CW isn’t doing anything to change our minds. We’re supposed to believe she’s innocent, by the way, until or unless she’s proven guilty.
I do feel bad for Karen. But if i was a juror i would know that is just normal stuff. And there nothing in the texts that make me feel any different. But i do understand your opinion. I think the commonwealth is doing a terrible job.

I just watched the hot mic moment. He knows what he's about to read and how awful it is for the world to read their personal messages.
The English guy used his own software, which is not accredited. He produced documents that he typed himself, not extractions. He discredited Cellebrite, which is used in every single investigation across the States.

Disproving the defense's theory does not prove Karen killed anyone. That part requires separate evidence. They're not the same thing. (And proving 1 search didn't happen does neither.)

He tried to claim it as a fact, but it had to be stricken from the record because it had already been proven that the glass did not match the cup.

I don't like all these days off for the jury. They go back to work and everyone is talking about. They know what days your at work and what days the court have off. News papers with a trooper on the front page say the MSP Want YOU. and listing all the things Protor did as the job requirement. Having to stay off social media. I have faith in the jury but with this case if would be hard.

In Law Enforcement, like any other profession, seniority means a lot. The 2 Troopers that testified today were tossed under the bus. They were given the “crime scene” pics and notations and told the work backwards and come up with a theory ! As you can see, no senior detective took the case or has testified ! They’re all had under 15 years with Proctor being the other exception ! It’s telling me that this goes up higher than a lieut or even the da’s office ! No senior detective or cop is gonna risk their job, pension, family and jail time when their close to retirement ! I had 2nd, 3rd and 4th hand embarrassment for the first kid and then it was gone, he proved he was an idiot and puppet ! Personally I would’ve taken his guns and shield and sent him to The MSP psych dr as soon as he got off the stand !
I have a question? Could he have said No without losing his job? Also, I don’t understand the hierarchy, or the chain of command here. Can the MSP say No to the district attorneys office? How does that work? Who has the ultimate authority?
@@Trish.Norman the chain of command is usually strict in the PD and the big bosses don’t have anything to do with the cops or even sgts and lieuts on patrol ! The big bosses got where they are cuz they play the political game also ! I’m gonna venture too say that the lieuts from the MSP looked for a cop that had a transfer request in or that was in a little bit of a jam and offered to push the transfer or jam away if they took the measurements and made up testimony that matched the measurements. Could the kid have said No, sure and he’d be transferred to a place he didn’t want to work, lose whatever tour he had and the bosses would be on BJ’s a55 everyday. A lot of the PD / FD jobs are also about who you know !
