Nice work,. End bearing block. If you put a fine shim between the bearings outer rims , then when tightening the centres are forced together reducing backlash.. Im just restoring a scrapyard XY table with flat slides that looks remarkably similar to what you have made, its more work than dovetailing but who can cut a 500mm dovetail.

In a dovetail ways configuration with the adjustment of the gib you can control lateral AND vertical play of the sliding table. In this configuration i can see how you control lateral play but how can you adjust verical play?

Yes, thanks. To control the horizontal or vertical play, a guide plate is installed on the sides, which has three grub screws that adjust it.

I was built my headstock and I just get headstock post from scrap metal it look a bit thin so I’m concerning shack but will try the best if possible. I can’t effort like you.

Спасибо за вопрос, для регулировки люфта резьбы я использую разрезную гайку и винт, который при затягивании этой разрезной гайки разделяет расстояние каждой части гайки, заставляя ее регулировать.

Допустим, клин от люфта в одной плоскости поможет, а вверх-вниз то люфт чем убирать, со временем ещё больше станет
