Thank you for asking, on the base of the machine I use 19mm thick sheets, the table is 180mm wide and 600mm long, the T-slots are 12mm sheets. The column uses a 12 mm sheet for the front part and a 700 mm height for the sides of 10 mm. The head is a 100mm square tube with a thickness of 6mm. the length is 250 mm. I hope that these data are of great help, any question can be asked, I will gladly help you. Greetings From Colombia
I'm curious if you had to flatten the top of the mill table after everything was finished? And if so how did you do it? I have a very similar homemade mill. My tee slots are mad the same way but I have to use some very thin shims in spots to get my vice to dial in perfect. Just wondering if you had the same issue?
Hi, thanks for sharing, don't worry about rectifying the table, I did it with the same router when I finished the tee slots, for this I used a long fly cutter that would give me the width of the table and at the end with a I insert, with the longitudinal displacement of the table I managed to flatten it and it fits very well, do it the same way it will give you a good result. Hi wonderful machine. One question, in the previous videos it looked like the ways weren't milled but just raw metal. Did you machine everything flat and parallel and all that? I noticed that the face of the table got some sort of machining I think.
While the build was quite good, I would have used linear rails for the slides and ball screws for the lead screws.......even for a manual mill they are not all that expensive, and they will give far better results than flat steel ways.

Thanks, the spindle was manufactured from a 4140 steel bar, and I machined the morse 3 taper, this was mounted on two conical rollers on each flange that carries the head and the spindle has a split nut with a captive to give it the position. the motor is 1 Hp at 110 v. of 1750 Rpm. the motor pulley is 1y1 / 2 "and 2", then it transmits to a pulley with 3 channels of 4, 3, 2 "and at the same time it transmits to the spindle a 2,3,4" pulley this pulley is type A, the straps are 20 "type A each. No need to put a tool holder into a tool holder . It would be more rigid with just the er collet setup . If u don't have a full set of er collets I suggest getting them

Te felicito por tu empeño... pero nunca vas a igualar a la tecnologia ... por ej: cada vez que haces un agujero guiandote por un marca punto de acero te equivocas en milesimas de milimetros lo cual proboca miles de errores cuando se quiere producir una maquina o una herramienta de presicion, osea fallas siempre. Prefiero mil veces las maquinas que construyen de forma milimetrica y hacen un trabajo completamente de ingieneria y no de amaters, sorry es mi parecer...
Gracias por excelente comentario, pero siempre que se hace un agujero guiándose por una marca con punta de acero sea en una máquina de alta tecnología ocurrirá lo mismo lo ideal es no usar guia de punta de acero y utilizar un visualizador y con la respectiva broca de centros, la forma que hago es para ilustrar un procedimiento.
