Sir, I salute you!! Watched all your videos of this off road go kart and have this to say; 1) thank you for all the details 2) you were patient with it all along and so was I watching you 3) just wondering what prompts people to dislike or even comment negatively. Like someone says that you talk too much........I want to tell him that you don’t........if he was a good student he would say you teach too much. Thanks for sharing so much 4) I can only see success ahead of you!! I salute your intelligence and enjoyed every bit of your videos Thank you
Thread tubing to fit drain plug, and put a cap on it.(My tractor has this)Or, just plastic tube squeezed in.(pvc)Another Great build Chris !Can't wait for trail vids.
Have you thought about using a regular gearbox and adapting the in and out to get your ratio's and reverse? I have done a few this way, and the best I've found are Ki truck gearboxes (from Japanese micro imports) They are tiny, lightweight with remote selector linkages, plus they're bulletproof and cheap. I make an adaptor from the clutch plate centre and fit a sprocket, then make a plate to span the tiny bellhousing with a flanged support bearing for the spigot mounted to the outside of the plate. I cut a slot in the bell to exit the input chain. The 4 speed ones have 4:1 to 1:1, the five speed have 4:1 to 0.8:1 approx. Anyway, great work again, cheers.
@@kinangeagle133 I got my first one from a Daihatsu micro van (I used it in an electric jeep project I still have), another from a Suzuki micro truck which had the same approximate size and the same output shaft/yoke, I used it to build a boat launching vehicle for a remote property. There are a lot of RWD Ki vehicles dating back to the 70's with similar sized boxes, all very easy to adapt.
Looking good. Get some video outside the cart. We want to see that suspension in use!😁 For your oil drain mess... drill a hole in your engine mount plate directly in front of drain plug hole. That way the oil will go directly through that hole when it come out of the engine. Place your container directly under the hole in the engine mount plate hole and mess avoided! 👍
@Hooha888 lol that's a standard pipe thread. Local hardware store will have a selection of different lengths of said pipe with threads on both ends as well as pipe caps. Doesn't get much simpler than that. To drill the hole in the engine mounting plate, you'd most likey have to remove the engine (looked too close to be able to get a drill in there) and even after there's a hole in it, that doesn't mean all of the oil is going to go through the hole. Keep it simple indeed
I would put that larger light bar right on that steering wheel frame support bar. Then you have a dashboard and could mount gauges on top of it + it might be an ideal place for lighting and look good.
auxbeam makes good stuff for a good price. I have the smaller ones fashioned inside the original housing of my 2002 yardmachines lawn mower... often find myself mowing at night lol cars flash their lights when I am mowing near the road.
Glad that it runs well. Have you ever tried to make a selectable 4X4 gocart? I have seen some made as all wheel drive, but I would like to see how one is made more like a 4X4 that can be put in and out of 2wheel drive.
if/when you get ready to paint it, run your cables so that they aren't outside of the frame, do like someone below says and make some fenders/mud catchers, drop a car battery up in the front behind the front tires but in front of the pedals, make yourself a wiring box (deep sea makes awesome battery distro blocks) and you'll be in awesome shape. the battery will help put some weight over the front tires so that when you hit stuff with the front end you have some grip to try to get over it (from the offroad video that you slid up the tree instead of going over it). for the oil drain....put a V notch in the back and a tiny ridge around the outside of the plate and you'll be good for draining....doesn't need much, just a tiny bit of guidance to help push it where you want it to go.
Attach an extension to the oil drain outlet. A piece of pipe to bring it out to beyond the edge of the motor mount. That is old school but works great.
20:50 get a pice of pipe long enough that it hangs over the end of the engine mount and tap one end so it will screw into the drain hole and tap the other end so you can put a screw cap on it. I do that to all my stuff and it saves a lot of time and messes.
Love the final product mate... yep she's fast!!! Nice work... as for the dogs... I have a neighbour with a big beautiful pooch... being a shift worker last thing you want to hear at 7am... just as you lay down to get some sleep after work... is a big dog barking.... all freakin morning!!! I bought a cheap ebay citronella anti-barking collar and left it at their door step... hint taken... no more barking... anonymous and no neighbours getting heated when you ask them to please keep their doggies quiet... BTW i love all animals... dogs bark for a reason... bored, excited, stirred up.... bored.... hungry....bored....lol
Great video's yo! Great build and that's a fun looking go-kart!!! I hope you have job where you are using you're talents as you have many different talents mang!!!
Awesome man looking sweet and sounding sweet it also performs very well keep up good work and reguards to your colour I would go with a fiery red too that would look sweet
I'm glad to see you're sticking to your roots and still doing builds. Some of the other channels have gone to mainstream and all they do is advertise advertise advertise and to be honest its annoying and I have unsubscribed to them because of it. Keep up the good work!
Bout a month ago I was reading someone's write up on their stadium buggy they made for a college course. They used a Yamaha gear set from a 4x4 atv with 5 speeds and reverse and made their own case for it and ran it with a 5hp Briggs and Stratton engine. Was very interesting.
you are right. the direction of the tires with arrows facing forward seems counter intuitive at first as most would thing the arrows facing backwards would "scoop" mud and what not and make more grip but in fact instead it scoops the mud into the tire and causes less grip. you want the arrows facing forward so that the mud will clear out of the tires so that they will get more grip.
good choice on red someone said did you know your tires were on backward i don't know about you but i have a buggy i built and i put y tires on backwards because they get better traction and they do a lot better job just pointing that out nice job looks like it moves real good
First your rear tires need to be swapped left to right and vice versa. Second to drain your oil get a short length of pipe to extend the drain out past the motor mount plate.
They make a drain hose that replaces the plug. I use them on both my Ingersoll compressors in my service trucks. Go talk to your parts guy at any lawn and turf shop.
I've seen a hose and fitting on the oil drain on small engines before u might wanna invest lol makes it so u drain oil from bolt on end of hose so u don't make a mess
No you're not an idiot, you're a super gifted mechanic/ engineer/welder/_____. I'd love to ride that gocart, my only thing would be to maybe raise it a couple inches and trick out for better suspension to really go off roading. Good job, I'd buy that thing.
Can't wait to see the new transmission, not on Instagram so please do a you tube video of it please , also the buggy looks like it's running great, can't wait to see it off road , also instead of moving the engine to drain oil ,why not just thread a pice of pipe and extend the drain and cap it ?
Throughout my life I've lived in super nice upscale neighborhoods, and fairly shitty lower class neighborhoods. Literally everywhere I've lived, there's *ALWAYS* someone with neglected dogs that bark around the clock. You know how I've felt my entire life...

Wrap or Tie Canvas on it. Quiet and easy to remove and put back on. Like the old Bi-Planes.

link?
Yes, please provide a link. These gearboxes sound awesome.
I need more info about this please
Japapnese micro van you mean?

This series has given me a newfound respect for my old Yamaha timberwolf 300. They did so much with so little
Still waiting for the cbr600 buggy build :)
Me to! Your buggy looks great by the way
HOMEMADE MADNESS yeah man!🤙
itll b loud, revvy and buzzy but fun none the less!
A

Add a tube to the oil drain to extend past the engine mount
@Hooha888 that honestly seems like more work and it'll still be a mess to drain

You're quite the inspiration man. Fun to watch, and quite informative.
in my opinion the light bar at front and 2light on top will looks more awesome!
Learning from RBG I see at the end! Awesome! I have a carter that's a dark red, almost burgundy color. I say go for it!
That thing is sick. I wish I had enough spare time to build one.
That thing is JUICY! The 2-speed would look DANK NASTY in some deep red! Excited for future vids bro. Thanks!
"DANK NASTY" He says... lol
Love the builds. Keep it up. Should put a winch on it and tidy up the wiring
That is the most BA offroad go cart I've ever seen. Love your work and your videos bro, I dream to have a go cart just like this one some day.
It's Ruff making videos.🐶 📹
Love the progression
I have learnt the road to your workshop. See me coming. Lolz. I agree with you with red color. We have same thought.
auxbeam makes good stuff for a good price. I have the smaller ones fashioned inside the original housing of my 2002 yardmachines lawn mower... often find myself mowing at night
lol cars flash their lights when I am mowing near the road.
Great job on the build, Really looks nice... That Go kart is gonna be one fun toy👍
That thing is a beast
Can't wait to see it completed and on a looong trail ride.

Looks like it drives smooth thumbs up...
Watching red beard? That put a smile on my face for some reason. Love you vides BTW.
Good run man.
Loved that you referred to red. beard . Can't wait to see with some paint she deserves it
Attach an extension to the oil drain outlet. A piece of pipe to bring it out to beyond the edge of the motor mount.
That is old school but works great.
Can't wait to see the final.
Very great!! 2 Seater would be kinda cool.!
Sounds like a Harley. Beautiful mountain scenery.
Seems smooth very nice!
You can extend the oil drain. Build and extension tube or pipe.
20:50 get a pice of pipe long enough that it hangs over the end of the engine mount and tap one end so it will screw into the drain hole and tap the other end so you can put a screw cap on it. I do that to all my stuff and it saves a lot of time and messes.

That will look sweet red I just got orange for my backwards 3 wheeler project
Love this build
Great job, be careful with that salamander facing that lp tank.
Great video's yo! Great build and that's a fun looking go-kart!!! I hope you have job where you are using you're talents as you have many different talents mang!!!
BMW HellRot Red would look sick ...and I would add sheet panels ....Either way Luv it👍
I'm ready to see this 3speed + reverse transmission and where can I get one
I hope he does release plans for it one way or another. Would be nice if at all possible add more than just 3 forward gears.
Look great. Awesome upgrades!
I'm curious to see how it looks when you've painted it. 👍😁
I love the build keep up the good stuff!
5:00 good idea for how to make the holes
Awesome man looking sweet and sounding sweet it also performs very well keep up good work and reguards to your colour I would go with a fiery red too that would look sweet

Your rear tires are backwards, you may get better traction by turning them around! Thanks for sharing!

You should make some fenders for it.
Nice work. I watched your all videos of this project
Does he know the back tires are on backwards?
More grip that way . Its true
Espen Viken you are right but it only works with certain tires because of the tread patterns. So maybe his will work?
Land to water _ I was just going to say that it’s driving me nuts

matt leonardo same
Get yourself a 2"wide hard rubber roller for doing your gasket papers.
Saves lots of time.
Nice job
lots of luck
Классная машинка. Супер.
Put something over the wheels to stop mud from flying at the camera.
fenders
what size pipe did you use. it looks like 3/4" sch40 pipe but hard to tell if it is that or 1"
Red beard helping you out at the end! I do the same thing when I need help sure a lot of people do the same
Look kids..even rather b uses Greg as a reference...lol...those dogs tho...keep it up brother...love your work!
I watched that same video. Lol
There are drain plug extensions you can get for those I believe.
Excellent job!!
good choice on red someone said did you know your tires were on backward i don't know about you but i have a buggy i built and i put y tires on backwards because they get better traction and they do a lot better job just pointing that out nice job looks like it moves real good
With tires in current configuration it's throwing mud forward,if turned around it'll shoot it out the rear Moore
Where do you order your wiring loom (black split hose for wiring) from?
First your rear tires need to be swapped left to right and vice versa.
Second to drain your oil get a short length of pipe to extend the drain out past the motor mount plate.
They make a drain hose that replaces the plug. I use them on both my Ingersoll compressors in my service trucks. Go talk to your parts guy at any lawn and turf shop.
Was hoping the was an update on the Craigslist find
Go on instagram
A proper burial is in order on that CL paper weight
I was hoping for the same
Videos are great, love all the builds🤘🏽
I know it would be expensive, but you should build a aluminum framed performance kart! Woud be cool to see a harder task ;) and would be WAY lighter!!
Awesome work! 👌
man i love this project
Use a precision jet drill and go one size bigger and test until you get proper throttle response,I can hear it beg for gas when you first step on it.
Cool dude it turned out really sweet
21:10 put beads of silicon on the sides to make a damn on each side of the drain plug.
Nice shout out to RBG!!
I think a drag kart should be in the works
Yellow & Black could be a nife combination... Name it thr Bumble Buggy
Candy apple purple all the way 🤔
Plumb crazy purple would be perfect 👍👍👍 I believe that is the correct name from the 70s
You should put a oil drain tube on your karts. I just put one on mine because i always get oil everywhere. Its called a drainzit
make the headers equal length and weld on some bands around the pipe to reduce bass further. itll scream better.
Great video.. been waiting on this one. that thing is a beast! what color you plan on painting it?
I've seen a hose and fitting on the oil drain on small engines before u might wanna invest lol makes it so u drain oil from bolt on end of hose so u don't make a mess
Do you think the 780 converter is enough for this engine?
Thanks
The 780 torque converter was designed for up to 50hp. I dont remember what 670s are making but I know its mid 20s, so yes it can handle it.
what did you do inside the case cover with the plastic gears? oh.. governor.. nvmd . lol
How’s auxbeam light bars hold up after time?
Like the bloopers clips
Hard to get through all the parts :D But finally here and well worth it!! Great job homie! :D
Throughout my life I've lived in super nice upscale neighborhoods, and fairly shitty lower class neighborhoods. Literally everywhere I've lived, there's *ALWAYS* someone with neglected dogs that bark around the clock. You know how I've felt my entire life...
Would love to see this in action now it's finished
finally.
if only i had the money and skills to finish mine lol
Enjoyed this enough to subscribe. It was interesting.
Keep it up Rather B welding! your skills will get you far one day!
That’s my favorite project
Any way to buy plans from you on this kart frame?
RED IS A GREAT COLOR FOR IT !!
Nice job. I suggest lighter tubing in places where heavy not needed to save weight.
Nice work very very nice
