Me and best friend across the street spent countless summers of our youth watching Rik and Adrian. When Rik died me and my mate (who had since gone our own paths in life as often happens) met up again and spent the entire day drinking whisky and watching Young ones and Bottom. Even in his death Rik brought me and my friend together for a day that felt like we had never been apart. "your future is as bright as you make it" - Rik There are only 3 people who have died that i never met who i actually felt true heartfelt sadness for, Steve Irwin Robin Williams and Rik Mayall.
I was in junior school when the young ones first aired on British TV. It was all that was spoken about in the school yard the next day. Throughout his career to bottom he is responsible (in part) of the forming of my sense of humour. The first episode of bottom I had me laughing so much a actually choked.
