Bottom series gave me so much joy growing up, so underrated
Is literally the best and my all time favourite!
Bottom and the young ones are the greatest British comedies of all time tied with peep show
What a lovely speaking voice when he isn't an angry salami.
I love that, with all the people there including the audience, Ade tells his story to his long-time friend Dawn.. and probably she has heard this story (at least) once before and yet she reacts with the perfect surprise and enjoyment that you would wish from a friend. It was beautiful to see them on the couch together. ♥
Could not agree more. So much joy!
having Ade and Dawn together on the same couch is bound to be chaotic
It blows my mind that he's married to Jennifer Saunders.
It’s mad to think they all met when doing the comic strip and have been life long friends since as well as Ade eventually marrying Jennifer.
@@edmundblackadder2741 My first introduction to them was the young ones and then with the internet I was able to view episodes of the comic strip and it shocked me to see all of these comedians doing stuff that predated all of the shows they did that you could only see on PBS in the US.
They were both in my favourite episode of The comic strip presents 'Supergrass'
Back in 1991 I was lucky enough to see Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall in Waiting For Godot in the West End. They played the lead roles Estragon and Vladimir and did so in a way that was very reminiscent of their Young Ones characters. Enjoyed it immensely.
Actually I also remember that Chris Ryan (Mike) was also in it in a minor role (Lucky I think).
I was disturbed as a kid when Vivian put his head out of the train window and he lost it 😂😂😂😂
His entrance into the first episode!!!❤❤😂
And the headless torso starts kicking the severed head down the tracks! 😂 Absolutely demented 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope the British folk here are aware of the low key impact The Young Ones had here in America...it was a little obscure, it wasn't on all the time, but for those of us who found it, we fell in love and stuck with it for as long as possible...
I definitely remember it
If you haven't already, watch 'bottom' it's a totally different monster. Search Bottom Live 2, the big number 2 tour, it's the funniest thing I've ever seen live and truly shows their talent as it's live
@@davidjustdavid But first watch the 2 series Bottom, please & remember, it's made in the 90s. If you think they're much too rude - be aware in the the end it's always them who are the losers, always. It's meant to be a Waiting for Godot way of living and it is!!❤❤❤
Watching The Young Ones on television when I was growing up is one of my favourite tv-based memories of my youth. They were a favourite then and remain a favourite now.
First time I saw the Damned and Motorhead was on the Young Ones. I was 13 in Arizona. Watching Viv kick his own head down the train tracks was hilarious.
Love to Ade Edmonson from Ireland, my childhood was The Young Ones, teenage years was Bottom and The Comic Strip back catalogue, seems a lovely man to spend time with
Adrian & Rik were always my childhood heroes, when Rik died it was so terribly sad, I can’t imagine the heartache for Ade ❤
God bless him. We were peers, but I never met him, when studying in Manchester. Similar/same ages. Him, Rick, Jennifer and dawn have special places in my heart and I feel they are family.
Edmondson is so different irl from his character Eddie in Bottom. It always suprised me, but shows what a great comedic actor he really is
And Vivian
Ade Edmonton is a national treasure.💥
This is the single greatest anecdote I have ever heard.
That is (almost?🤔) better than a formal prize❣️
I watched The Young Ones back in the day on MTV. Little did I know my future husband was watching it across town loving it as well. We told our children about it. When they were teens we found the DVD. They love it too.
They're grown adults now. As a family we still quote lines from it. Yes, we Americans love The Young Ones.
The Young Ones brought life back to me and i feel a lot of Rik in myself. So much love to them, especially Ade ❤
When The Young Ones aired on MTV in the mid-80's, I was hooked from the start. Now that I've watched this clip, I'm going to search for some episodes.
BBC iplayer has all of them 👍🏽
As Rik would say
It was bwilliant! ❤
Ade ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ him and rik are a huge part of life in this house. 📺
That's my favourite G.N Show story ever. That one really did have my chin on my chest.
This man is a legend
How funny is this...I watched The Young Ones here in the States, but over the years had forgotten the names of the actors. Fast forward 20 yrs, I become a fan of the VoD, and eventually watch most of the episodes. And only now am I making this connection.😅 I'd have recognized him as Frank before Viv😅
Rik Mayall should be sat on that sofa too 😢
RIP Rik 😢
Ade the man and ade the legend
Every time I watch "The Young Ones" and "Bottom" I paralyze by the genius of the comedians in it.
Adrian Edmondson is quite unique!!! What kind of people haven't given him any awards yet?????
"I want to go to the Bahamas because......."
Conch fritters, blackened grouper and Bahama Mama cocktails are so good?
No income tax?
"It's bloody hot there"
I loved growing up in the 90s. British and Irish comedy was peak. I count myself as lucky. Growing up on shows like only fools, father ted, red dwarf, britta empire, Alan Partridge and Bottom. We was unmatched in the sitcom world.
Went to see ade last night at thr symphony hall Birmingham he was absolutely brilliant will always have love in my heart for ade and rik rest his soul❤
OMG ❤
I would never have associated The Young One's & Joni Mitchell 🙂
Dawn looks SO beautuiful with that steel-grey bob!
Ade and Dawn together!! YES!!!
I loved The Young Ones!!!!
VIVA EL PRESIDENTE!
Ade and Rik, comic genius.
In my book, right up there! With the best of them.
I love it.
Want. To. See. That. Photo!
Rik, captain Flashheart in Blackadder
That mustve been a "I can now die happy" moment for Adrian, for sure. How fun is that!?
I used to love Ade in Britain. Pity we only got a few episodes here in India
There are DVDs, Bluerays ...❤
@@sundaypeople5791 Not in India. ☹️
Thanks.
YES, IVE MADE A VIDEO!!!!!
How can anyone not love Ade
proud member of the Facebook group Rik & Ade bottom appreciation society
And there was me thinking Joni was going to hit him round the head with a frying pan
Neil.....answer the door......neil whats for dinner.......
I loved the young ones 😂 I am British
Ade was best doing Eddie from Bottom! That sitcom will always be the best!
Wow. Love the Young Ones. Did not make the connections here. Damn. Aren’t I just a bit older as well? How funny. 0:11

Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
Only proper brits will know who Adrian is
No surprise ade never won a comedy prize
😂😂😂
See what you mean, but in the end it's not true. He could act in astonishingly funny ways & as a counterpart he was the world!!❤❤
Ade IS a comedy prize!
why are there vomit inducing musical performances every week this series?
