The reason for the appearance of ICE-T on True Carnage was because Barnes is a big fan of Ice's brutal song lyrics and vice versa. So they became friends at some point. Ice T even appeared on the Cannibal Corpse documentary DVD, Centuries of Torment

    • @sororitysleepawaymortuary1659
      @sororitysleepawaymortuary1659 Год назад +6

it's because back in the early 90's both Ice-T and Chris Barnes in Cannibal Corpse were both targets of the political censorship and they were both named as bands that were blacklisted and deemed as harmful to society. so Barnes asked if Ice could be on the album and he came down for a few hours and I think he recorded his part in one or two takes.

Personally i like the pretty bad ones, True Carnage and Bringer Of Blood, just more my style i guess. I gave Nightmare Of The Decomposed another listen and I actually like that one quite a bit too. Good production on Nightmares with the guitars, drums sound good, and Barnes voice was similar to that single I've always like "Dead and Buried". it sounds like an older decrepit decomposing Barnes which is pretty ballsy, don't know many other bands that would try something like that.

I counted 192 you must have blinked through 7 of the Hair touches . I personally think Maximum Violence blows them all away. The Vocals are the best on the Haunted. I don't listen to post Barnes Cannibal Corpse so Six Feet Under was the only band that I could enjoy the best Death Metal frontmans superb work. Unfortunately the awesome Vocals that made the Bleeding the best Death Metal album got woofy like a Labrador Retriever on Warpath, and by Maximum Violence disintegrated to the scratching of a horny Rottweiler locked up, and unable to unleash his pent up frustrations upon the poor unsuspecting neighbors. Musically Maximum Violence delivers though. The KISS cover is bad ,but my copy also contains a Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak cover which makes War Machine sound like the best cover song ever performed. The Hair touching is done far more often by other You Tube hosts than I actually noticed here. Great review, could you consider reviewing Female Guitarist- Vocalist fronted Black - Death Metal band Demonic Christ? Thanks

I remember the hype around SFU was pretty crazy back in the day. I bought Haunted day of release and then heard Warpath at a friend's house when it came out but stopped paying attention after that. Guess I got spoiled cause when I checked out the rest of their discography boy, was I disappointed. There’s a lot of albums I like but I wish they were all as good as unborn/undead. Unpopular opinion but I think the undead/unborn era of Barnes is the peak of his vocals in SFU.

I big fan of original Six Feet Under.
First of all, Allen West is original composer and boss of the band, he is started this band and style, so top 2 is:
    1) Haunted
    2) Warpath
Second composer is Steve Swanson. His style of music is different but good too. It is different style and music.
    Best is:
    1)Maximum Violence
    2)True Carnage
    3)Commandment
    4)Death Rituals
Other albums is not that good imo. Band is dead after 2008. Other songwriters cant compare, and Barnes broke his vox, it is not Six feet under after 2008 album. Six feet under is only = Allen West, Steve Swanson, Terry Butler, Greg Gall - thats instrumental and composer setup and core of the band

I loved the first five albums. I knew it wasn't old school Cannibal Corpse, but whatever. I basically looked at them as though they were Chris Barnes solo albums. I liked Ozzy even though it was no Sabbath, I liked Danzig even though it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as the Misfits. I would have preferred that he stay in Cannibal Corpse, but they kicked him out even though Created to Kill was way better than fucking Vile. Oh well. It is what it is.

SFU would have a much stronger catalog if all their albums contained guitar solos! Some of the albums that don't, like Commandment, Torment, etc., would be looked at much more fondly if they included solos imo. If you look at your album ranking, not all but a lot of the lower ranked ones are the albums they neglected to include solos. I was happy the new had them and was why I was pumped to hear Jack Owen joined the band, there's no way he'd be in a band and not include them in the writing process.

I remember reading about True Carnage in a metal magazine when it came out but i didn't get to hear it until a few years later when a friend let me borrow it. I like the low tuned sludgy groove riffs, and low vocals. The next album Bringer Of Blood the vocals were more of a varied mix with the vocals more understandable but the lower vocal still appearing here and there usually layered underneath.

Have Six Feet Under recorded an album since Nightmares of the Decomposed? I think Torment sounded like a modern Death Metal album, but just not as good. Haunted, and Maximum Violence are my favorites. I remember the first time that I heard Haunted I had the reaction like, wow that's the most boring Death Metal album ever recorded. There are at least two songs that sound nearly identical on Haunted. Six Feet Under has 2 styles the upbeat groovy Obituary songs, and the slower Obituary type songs. Overall I would consider Six Feet Under at their best moments Obituary with Chris Barnes on Vocals, and at their worst post Wolverine Blues with a sick Rottweiler and a Rooster caught in a trap on Vocals. The Graveyard Classics series of course are so awful that no insults could possibly capture how bad they really are. I do however somewhat enjoy the covers of In League With Satan, War Machine and Smoke On the Water just for the comedy .If Maximum Violence had the Vocals of the Haunted it would have been a masterpiece
