Parts arriving tonight and tomorrow might be lucky and get them before they close on weekend. After watching this I think I can do this no problem... know its the gas which does suck and goes bad in a month....
Gotta use 1/4 inch drive. Sometimes it's off from being dropped so you have to force it in or even hammer it in. Wonder the assembly is loose the socket fits fine
I have several fs55 stihls I never drain the gas over winter and always use 10%ethanol gas never have a problem at all done that for over 15 years. It must be the carburetors and parts your using they are not genuine stihl parts.
or the fact that I'm in south Florida where it's still 80 in the winter. also, I'm replacing the originals with oem quality carbs. the original Zama's are also made in China. google it.
I used to rebuild but it wouldnt always work. Ethanol in the gas would eat up the carb just enough so it wouldnt run right. Way better just replacing it. Took a while to find good aftermarket carbs as well.
@@smallengineguys Just found an alternative to a gummed up carb. The gummed up spark arrestor. I fixed my problem trying that first. You have to burn off the excess oil with a propane flame, and air blast the ash away. Worked like a charm. Saved me buying a carb kit.
Yes I love when they bring it back and say you just worked on it. And feel the repair should be free.
this guy tried that and he is also the fire marshal. i slammed him full price for his effort.
That's a great , informative video! Thank you. Where can I buy all these parts?
Are honda 4 stroke from honda harder to maintain than sthil ones?

Biggest takeaway - replace the carburettor, no user serviceable parts I guess. The whole kit can be gotten on Ebay for under $30.

Gasoline can last 6 months and still work
non ethanol can not normal pump gas
The title is "carburetor repair." But you're not repairing anything, you're just replacing.
didnt work now does work that is fixed
@@smallengineguys Do you fix your car by buying a new one? 🤣🤣🤣
@@wanstronianno but you fix a new part on a car by replacing it. It's not rocket science.
