That looks very nice Drew! After all the timely detail painting, I can't tell that's a Walthers kit. Have fun on Spring Break and upcoming Troop outings. - Jason
@@WhiteRiverLine I agree, I discovered ITLA Scale Models and I'm looking at using some of their products since they user laser cut mdf. They are fairly new company and do not have as much to offer right now but seem to be adding some stuff here and there.
The model is looking great. Just as impressive is your clean workspace. I look forward to seeing you complete this kit. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
That is stunning work, sir! Absolutely brilliant. As far as the acrylic drying out, when I used to do large areas, I just kept a small puddle of water to dip the brush in and help activate the color.
I would recommend the Vallejo plastic putty or the one from Ammo by MiG. I use both for my OO scale kits and it works well. The Vallejo is more cream so better to fill small gaps while the Ammo one is thicker and will work well for larger gaps or holes like ejector pin marks.
Walther's doesn't make any wood kits that I am aware of. I considered doing a scratch build, but I'm not sure my scratching building skills are quite up to the task yet.
Great update, you are truly bringing out a new dimension to weathering an otherwise drab, out of box Walthers kit - well done!
Very nice build Drew, I really like the progress you are making. thank you.
Thanks, John.

Thanks, Jason. It's a fair amount of work to make plastic not look like plastic.

I may have to check them out.
The altering board colors are fantastic looking. Great job!
Thanks, David.
Beautiful work! I personally love Squadron green putty.
Thanks. I’ve been playing around with some different kinds of putty.
You have more patience than me lol it’s coming out really nice
Thanks, Paul.

Haha, my workbench clean. The rest of the basement, not so much.

Thanks for the recommendations!
Beautiful work, your wood grain effect is superb!
Thanks, it was kind of an experiment and I’m pretty happy with it.
I use glazing putty from the auto parts store. Much cheaper than any modeling putty. It sands very easily and holds paint well.
Great tip!
I built this in n scale a few years ago. The chutes were a pain. Glad I switched to ho
Yeah, I can't imagine trying to do them in n.
Try with Tamiya putty basic type and Tamiya lquid surface primer.
Thanks. I'll give that a shot.
I Like it But there’s a A Slight Problem which is this How Come it does’t come out In Wood? Wouldn’t it look Better in Wood?
