    Great review, got right to the point.. HEAVY.
    Big watches are great in the box but uncomfortable on the wrist.
    Someone bring back the 1974 Accutron, show these young men what a great watch really is.

    I asked a week ago about sizing the bracelet. Nobody reacted, so I react on my own question, because I now own the watch, I bought it. There are no half links, so you have to be lucky. It does fit me perfectly, but that is luck, not due to the sizing possibilities of the bracelet. One whole link is 10mm, so that is a possible problem. May be Glycine can provide half links for this bracelet, but I don't know that. For the rest of the watch,...perfect. Value for money..? For $200,- at Ashford it becomes a no-brainer. A very well build, beautiful Swiss watch, for this price....incredible.

      Hi - glad you're enjoying this awesome watch from Glycine. It really is unbeatable value at that price. It is a shame there are no half links though.

      @@wristwatchdave422 I am sure Glycine can provide half links for this bracelet if asked. Only one half link provided seperately would already solve a potential problem.

    Love em, I do not have a pilot watch in my 80+ piece watch collection so I would love to grab me one, but I'm hesitating. Everything I see and find about Glycine today screams Invicta. They even released a Glycine Jason Taylor, brrrrrr. The last update on Glycine website dates back to 2019. Service center for EU is Invicta. I'm afraid this great brand is becoming more and more Invicta, as in Glycine branded and priced watches with Invicta design and QC. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a snob and have nothing against Invicta brand, I own like 10 or 12 of them (Pro Diver and Speedway). I also own 4 Glycine Combat Sub, the quality is way better but they cost a lot more than the average Invicta on sale for 69 euro lol.

    • @IAmWatcher
      @IAmWatcher 3 года назад

      btw, it's pronounced 'glee-tsee-nuh', the brand is Swiss.

      Hi, thanks for watching. I have had many Glycine watches (over 20) and have at least 7 recent ones since the Invicta takeover. I can tell you from personal experience that the quality has not changed. They are still extremely well built and are in a totally different league to Invicta watches. I just don't think they scream Invicta at all. Have you seen the new Combat Sub 36? It's beautiful. However, I do agree with you about their website and customer service which needs improving.

    • @wristwatchdave422
      @wristwatchdave422  3 года назад +1

      Glycine is indeed a Swiss brand but the name has Italian origins (named after a plant by the founder Eugene Meylan) and I have only ever heard the name pronounced as Gly-Seen - even by German speaking people.

    • @IAmWatcher
      @IAmWatcher 3 года назад

      @@wristwatchdave422 Thanks for the reply. Of course the 2 brands are incomparable, no doubt there. My Combat Subs are great, it's just that 3 of them have some minor quirks. Don't know if pre-Invicta Glycine watches also had occasional minor quirks because I only recently discovered the brand, but I got those 3 on a discount at Invicta EU website and still can't help thinking that somehow they are selling the ones that didn't pass factory QC. One has a really really tight bezel, almost impossible to turn, 1 spins the rotor when screwing the crown back on, you don't want that on a Sellita 200-1 movement, and the 3rd one has a lume imperfection that shows as a tiny black spot on one of the markers. I got my 4th one off a renown jewellers store, it was running +15 secs a day but I managed to get that down to +1. Maybe I was just unlucky....

    • @IAmWatcher
      @IAmWatcher 3 года назад

      @@wristwatchdave422 I'm half Dutch half German, my gf is German, we would say 'glee-tsee-nuh', even in Italian it's 'glee-zee-nuh', just use google translate to hear the differences between the various languages... the pronounciation has probably been anglicized over the years, like most things here on RUclips.
      Anyway, I'm still in doubt which one I like best, they have all the different models online over at Invicta EU site, I really love the chonographs, but there's like 8 different options and 400 euros for a quartz watch is still a lot imho. Think I'll wait a bit longer, knowing Invicta EU they will probably go on discount soon, judging by stock indication they only sold 1 or 2 so far, the oversized watch fans or true watch nerds aren't standing in line for this one, not at that pricepoint.
      They had the 36mm Sub online last week, it was gone within days, but 36mm is just too small for my 7.5" wrist and my overall appearance, no suit and tie here, not even a plain shirt, I'm a heavy metal kinda guy lol, 42-44mm is my sweet spot (except for G-Shocks, I like them big).

    I just received one as a gift and the dual time option does not work. I followed your instructions but the second button does nothing. It’s a shame because it was bought over a month ago from Jomashop so it can’t be returned and the warranty requires shipping to NL which will be expensive as well as the “repair” fee.

    • @wristwatchdave422
      @wristwatchdave422  2 года назад +1

      That's unfortunate- I'd be surprised if there was a fault as the quality control with Glycine is usually very good. Maybe the battery is low which could effect the operation.
