    I love this so much! very good instructions on how to fillet the black cod with the removal of bones and extra tips on how the bones can be used for later! thank you so much for teaching techniques on how to cut them to prepare them for marination, how to cook the miso, as well as very detailed instructions on how to cook marinated cod and store the other cod pieces for later! Also, how to plate the cooked cod! I appreciate how very organized and detailed you are! Excited to try your technique!

    Dude this is like one of the most polite cooking videos I've ever watched 😂 So convenient that this recipe also came with instructions on breaking down fish because I bought a whole cod from Costco!

    This is the most instructive video I have seen on this recipe. The cutting of the fillets on the diagonal was enlightening. Double wrapping the marinated pieces of fish for freezing was new to me.

    Oh my, this cod is a thing of beauty! Perfect in its simplicity, and perfect to make for a small dinner party. Prep it beforehand, and then put it on the sheet pan, and pop it into the oven. Dinner is served!

    Glad I watched this. I've gone through a few other recipes, some western, some Japanese. But I find this most workable and making sense. It also ensures the idea of being able to save leftover fish for another day - of course, based on your purchasing fresh fish to begin with. Enjoy it thoroughly. Thank you.

      You can use a frozen one too. But make sure to defrost completely and get rid of excess moisture before marinating it, otherwise, you will ruin the marinade.

    Your recipes are great and your skill with knife is amazing. Since miso has beneficial enzymes should it be added after the other marinade ingredients are boiled? The cold miso will cool down the cooked marinade. Even though it is baked at 400 degrees later, perhaps enzymes can be absorbed into fish before cooking, and the final garnish will have the uncooked miso also. By the way, what brand of knife do you recommend?
