I’m still having my HeartGold and SoulSilver. First all, my dad paid $40 for a new HeartGold for my late birthday at Walmart then, I had been saving my allowance for a few weeks and paid $40 for a new SoulSilver when I was in high school in the state school for the deaf.

I've unfortunately misplaced my childhood copy of Soulsilver and I'm hoping I can find it somewhere in my house. Appreciate you Ty! Yeah I had the realization of USUM being CIB post video, so sad that they stopped putting a little manual in there.
I played Sun when they came out and was so turned off by it that despite buying both Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon I never actually played either. I played both USUM fairly recently (I want to say 3 or 4 months ago) to catch stuff for my living dex in Home and I can honestly say they are miles better than Sun/Moon to the point where I'd honestly consider USUM some of my favorite games in the franchise. Would definitely say they're worth playing through. Awesome haul, HGSS and Platinum are massive pickups.

Popplio’s final evolution almost solos the entire game. I wasn’t a fan when the design was revealed, but I stuck with my choice during the promotional period and I love Primarina. I just made sure to soft reset for a female.

I’ve got that big box copy of Emerald. Walmart exclusive that came with a Rayquaza GB SP case. Very rare and expensive. Most collectors aren’t aware of it. I believe it’s the most expensive Pokémon game with that big box followed by Pokémon box.

Banger after banger after banger! Dude the con experience looks amazing, from the grabs to the gift from the fan, the vhs even as well! That japanese copy of emerald that you saw was so clean. Wish i couldve made it to the con myself, some great pickups to be had. The collection is looking great!

I could not imagine spending that much on pokemons individually, I got extremely lucky 5 months ago found someone locally selling Literally every ds pokemon game ether cib or just missing the manual

Congrats on the pickups today! You’ll love platinum and SS for sure! And I just picked up my CIB copy of SS for $180, but was willing to pay a bit extra because the game shop gave my kids a bunch of figurines and Pokémon cards for free.
Yeah that emerald price is insane lol. That is awesome to with SS. There is nothing better than a game shop that takes care of its customers and truly cares. Not too bad of a deal either!

This is cool! I’m going for the same, and after grabbing 6 more at SEGE, I just need Soulsilver now. But, I would recommend grabbing Green. I know it’s Japanese only, but it’s the only one in the mainline series to be so, so it doesn’t alter the goal too much. I got mine nice and cheap at a local store.
That's awesome! Hopefully you snag a nice deal on Soulsilver. I'm definitely going to grab Green! I haven't seen it out in the wild too often, so sadly may need to order it lol.

yeah it was a tough overpay, most vendors had it for 200+ and I can just get the manual later lol
Ultra sun and moon are amazing. Story line is great honestly. And the battle against ultra Necrozma is epic

I’m happy that I still have my (almost) complete set of Pokémon games from when I was a kid. My brother and I used to play Pokémon when we were young and when he became a teenager he gave them all to me for my game collection. All CIB except for the Game Boy/Game Boy Color games and Leaf Green. Fun story; I sold my copy of Yellow and Crystal as a kid for $10 because I wanted to save for Pokémon Platinum… I rebought Crystal on the eshop and a Japanese copy when I was in Japan but I still don’t own a copy of Yellow bc I genuinely don’t care to rebuy it.
Got a CoWorker who's been willing to sell a bunch of his retro games. Got a Pokemon Colosseum Box & Disc, but No Manual from him. But while going through the totes I saw pretty much every DS Pokemon Game Box and Manual... but no games. I asked this man in an absolute panic, "did you have a carrying case as a kid that you kept the games in," and he said he's pretty sure. I begged bro with my soul to look for those games. I go to sleep and pray every night that he finds them. 🙏🙏🙏

That’s definitely a reproduction and not an official, real copy of Emerald. But if you want to play and don’t have the cash for the real copy a reproduction should play just fine.

$10 for Pokémon vhs is criminal. They are easily found at thrifts for $1 each (I use to buy 5 for $1 until Covid 😢)

I went on Sunday to SEGE with a similar mission as you. I did get Retrowolf's Sapphire that needed a battery. I saw a copy of Soul Silver but passed. Nice finds. Good luck with your hunts! I have to find most of the GBA ones, Crystal and some DS games. I'm getting there though!
