What’s annoying is seeing a game that was once plentiful as a teen. Then you become an adult (not 18/19) and the game is nowhere to be found. So many Dreamcast games that are rarer Ethan hens teeth in my case 😂

Tell me about it I used to trade action figures and comic books for Nintendo games and had almost all of them and a lot of SNES and Genesis games and traded everything for the Nintendo 64 when it released and I go to replace a few of my favorites a decade ago too play with my kids and they were from $40 and up cartridge only I was thinking wth glad stuff like little Samson and The Flintstones didn't mean anything to me costing several hundred dollars these days and I had them before too tmnt tournament fighters was hard enough to find an pay $115 for the nes

ya know, as a hobbiest, I always wondered why I never have fun at these kinds of retro game conventions anymore. Watching Caleb buy out an entire dude's stock of Melee to flip it on Amazon really put things into perspective.

Yep, resellers like Phoenix are the absolute worst. They haggle small business owners and independent sellers just to benefit themselves, and he doesn’t even care about the hobby and nostalgia like others. Retro Rick is amazing tho and I feel like those jokes they make about Phoenix are honestly a joke, but also a real jab nodding towards how he is.

I feel like all this videogames collectors think that its they right to collect cheap? If you don’t want to spend money for Your cool don’t have one and let otherslive their life
@@esskeetitpump4165 He’s certainly not the absolute worst. But I think it’s a huge difference when it appears the individual is purely profit driven without a lot of perceivable nostalgia. For example, I started collecting primarily for Dreamcast in my early 20s because it’s my favorite system, then I have other consoles - I simply want the games from my childhood along with cool titles I either couldn’t afford or didn’t get. When folks are buying up everything, creating tons of demand, it makes it harder for Average Joe’s simply looking to have a small collection of their favorites.
It's his business. But I think the hobby suffers when too many are in it PURELY for business sake.
@@esskeetitpump4165 he is definitely not the worst, there are definitely worst collectors out there that people have no clue about, but he’s up there and it’s more of his demeanor and the fact that he haggles so hard on prices that are already at market value or below. I can understand wanting a good deal and negotiating, but most of people are already selling their games at pretty dang good prices that are like I said market value or below because they already want to give good deals and share their love for the hobby, but also like what Dexter said above, imagine you wanting to look for a game you loved in your childhood and you can’t find it simply because of people like Caleb who bought out an entire inventory just to flip for more money and make profit, it’s pretty disrespectful for other collectors and enthusiasts and makes them look bad, he just wants a good deal to flip a product he has no interest or knowledge in to simply make a buck off someone else. It’s more of a disrespect towards other collectors and like I said there’s reason why other RUclipsrs like Retro Rick and etc. all make fun of him in a kidding way, but also are serious with the jokes they make. He’s like that one friend in the group you constantly tease and make fun of and they can’t tell whether or not you’re actually kidding or not.
The guy he bought the Smash Bros and Mario Sunshines for I bought some Switch games off of and he was NOT negotiable on day 1. I spent maybe $300 and he knocked off maybe $10 to make it an even $300. Shows that Caleb gets preferential treatment at these events.
Yeah it’s cuz of the camera honestly. Point a camera at someone and they have to act nice for their reputation.
Yeah I dislike a lot of these guys for that reason. I'd probably spend more than caleb at a specific booth but because I don't have a camera pointing at them with a large following I get laughed at for suggesting if "going a little down on sticker prices".
So glad when we set up at conventions we do deals regardless of if we are on camera or not (never actually done a deal on camera )
Smash bros and Mario games will always sell for market value and rise in prices. You can be mad you didn’t get a good deal on an everyday high seller.

Love the early 00's graphic engine aesthetics of some of these games; reminds me of the immortal Arcade places from back in a day. This vid in general makes me miss the quality of tech 'Made in Japan' in 90's n early 00's . I was so close to visiting it at one point. Had xp with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama and movies like 'Akira' and 'Ghost in the Shell'.

@@sevilleweathington6931 I guess they could have wrote him a ticket with name of stall on it and some unique number etc and put it on one side. But as said its still a hindrance as he would have to find time to post it to himself. Besides he might not feel comfortable giving people his address considering that is also his place of business etc. Then again i thought he made an app or something so i guess that is the case. So yes he could have shipped to self but maybe he didn't "trust" people enough to ship it for him and he didn't have time after the convention to ship it before flying home.
Could've just sent it straight to Amazon also. Seems silly to leave that profit behind.

I found 4 gamecube games at a pawn shop by my house for $5 each and one was Luigi's Mansion complete with manual and inserts. The walmart by my house also has Cult of the Lamb for the Switch.

Physical edition man, it’s about actually owning it. The 3ds and Wii U shops closed, which will eventually happen with the switch.

@thecookies6109 not really. The level balance is weird on the orginal. I guess if you really cared for Liliths og design that's only in the base version of smt v but lol it's better to go for the re release.

hey its probably too late now but I own this game / only sold it this year on ebay lol I picked up all the games from super rare up when they first came out and when I learned that they were this rare I sold them off one by one
