a few years ago I experienced the same thing: my foot peeling off, except I didn't do anything on purpose for that. The strangest thing is that I thought it was a dermatitis but as it shed I noticed it was beautiful, soft, nothing that looked like a foot illness, on the contrary.
But how? I tried to remember what did I do to make this happen and the only thing I remember was to use some acid to clean an old floor (I was not using foot protection, I know it was wrong).
