How to make a Self Balancing Robot Car Using Arduino Compatible Uno R3, L298N driver and MPU6050

  • Hello All, In this tutorial we are going to explain you how to make a DIY Self Balancing Robot Car using 2wd chassis, arduino compatible uno r3, L298N motor driver and MPU6050
    Note: You do not have to adjust the Kp, Ki, Kd and Original SetPoint values in code if you are using the exact same car chassis.
    If your car chassis size is different then you need to alter the PID (Kp, Ki, Kd) and OriginalSetPoints values

    I think it has to be tuned further as the robot is dancing all over the place but with bo motors it's difficult

      As you have mentioned with BO motors it is very difficult to achieve the level of accuracy and balance.

    Your project is awesome .....and I have selected this as my project I have all the material..... mentioned in ur discription
    But I don't have bo motor
    Can u tell me the rpm and voltage of following motor so that I can buy it ....

      Dear Naman Mittal, We are not using any controllers here. The car balances itself. You can check the parts list which we posted in the beginning of the video.

    I had built a almost exact robot with the same hardware and the same code, yet when i upload the code and run it, it only shows on the monitor "DMP Ready! Waiting for first interrupt...." any ideas what might be?

    I have made this project but my l298n motor driver motor port is not giving voltage
    Hence the ptoblem is motor driver is not giving voltage to motors and motors are not working

    Hey there.... I have decide to buy urs product .....may I know Enloop battery is(ie 1.2v)is important to use... Or we can prefer to buy any AA other battery(ie 1.5v)duracell one.... Pls tell

      You can use any standard 1.5V batteries for any reputed brands.

    Actually we wanted to build this circuit so we got this kit from amazon but after connecting the robot isnt balancing itself,so can i get u guys number so that we can sort the issue and balance the robot

      Did you install all the 4 libraries before you uploaded the code? If not kindly install these libraries from library folder. My guess is you have not installed MPU6050 libarary.

      Then you might be having two different versions of mpu6050 library installed. Please check your libraries folder inside document and delete all the mpu6050 libraries and install once again.

      Check if you have installed all the required libraries. Also it would have been great if you could posted what error you have received so that we can help. Without posting the error it is difficult for anyone to assist.

    The kit is highly overpriced. I built the same thing with less than 50% of the price with a better quality Arduino compatible board.
