    @DustinAbbottTWI with all of the amazing 56mm aspc lenses, I would love to see a quick roundup of everything out there. Everything from the Fuji f/1.2 to the Sigma f/1.4, to the new Viltrox options. You have great reviews on everything, but a quick round up with your scores on things like image quality, AF performance, corrections, build quality, and value for money would be awesome.

    Awesome reviews and so glad ttartisan is moving up to AF for Fuji X as they're otherwise so expensive. Tried the 35mm vs the Fujinon version and it was quite good.

      I used to really like the 50/1.4, but then I stopped enjoying the 3+4 design planar style lenses so much. I've had a soft spot for the 4+3 design planar lenses for some years now and it's not going away! This one has way too many elements to have that kind of bokeh, but it's still nice and compact and can do cool things!

    Thanks for doing these detailed real-world testing and reviews for the TTArtisans 56mm f/1.8 and Vitrox 56mm f/1.7.
    (Edited)... I had gotten the suspected focal plane curvature backwards from the Vitrox review... it was indeed the Vitrox having better consistent focus from centre to corner than the TT (which has a slight issue at the corner). Thank you to Dustin for pointing that out within 2h of me posting a comment.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  3 месяца назад

      Ironically I think the TTArtisan actually has more field curvature than the viltrox.

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Thank you for responding and clarifying. I went back to watch the Vitrox review again and realized I totally got it backwards. Now I know which is the winner for me. Thanks.

    Dustin, you're always so thorough in your reviews that I can see some of the difference with your other reviews like with the TTArtisans 56mm F/1.7 (which is a lot sharper in the corners than this). I know it would be a lot of work, but given your overall knowledge, would you be able to do a summary on what you think comparing amongst these: 56mm lenses for APSC: Viltrox (F/1.7), this TTArtisan, Sigma 56 F/1.4, Fuji 56 F/1.2 WR (even with the Fuji 50mm F/1.0, Viltrox 75mm F/1.2).

    • @christopherchung1858
      @christopherchung1858 3 месяца назад +1

      I watched both reviews... So it looks like the Viltrox beats out the TT. I worry a bit about the focal plane curvature of the TT that Dustin showed in his Viltrox review, though I like the TT's closest focus distance/max magnification that is in line with the Sigma 56mm f/1.4 at 40% of the price.
      I'm not into astrophotography, but the chroma may be a deciding factor for those who do.
