For night shooting, this 56mm lens has shown its excellent capabilities. The control of flare is really good. When there are bright lights in the scene, it doesn't cause much interference to the image quality. The sharpness remains relatively stable even under such challenging conditions. The performance for point light sources at night is outstanding. It can capture the details and the beauty of those lights without any distortion. The F1.8 aperture allows more light in, which is essential for night photography. The metal body gives it a solid feel and better durability. Despite a little purple fringing at the maximum aperture, it doesn't have a significant impact on the overall quality of the night shots.
This was a quick simple review,Loved it. I see the focus bouncing 3:41, is it possible if I want smooth focusing. Say for example, I have a subject kept on a table,50cms away from the lens.. then I slowly take it away.. all the way to 2 mtrs, will it be able to hold up the focus? can you please test that if possible, I am planning to get this for food videography. Thanks!
I believe a 35 mm would allow you to capture more of the image and be more versatile than a 56 mm lens. When shooting on a crop sensor the 35 mm becomes an equivalent to a 50 mm and a 56 mm would be something like an 85 mm.
Hey I just bought a used Sony A5100 16-50mm Interchangeable Lens camera with 3inch Flip Up LCD… but because it’s used, it came with no memory card. What’s a good memory card I can get for this camera? I’m trying to use mainly for streaming and possibly filming RUclips videos too. 🙃 please help.
Any lenses you'd like me to review next? Let me know! ⬇
Ttartisan 35mm F1.8 please. Compare photos/videos using old body like a5100 🙏🏻

Honestly, this is the best lens I’ve bought this year. Autofocus is quick enough for my needs, and the image quality is just amazing
Totally agree! A great lens for the price
I recently bought this lens, and it’s been great for portraits. The sharpness really stands out in every shot.
For the price that is a nice lens! It might look nice on my ZV-E10... Another enjoyable video, thanks Arron.

Cant getvonr here in canada out of stock, looks like I'll have to keep waiting
I have ttartisan 50mm f1.2, i think it's slightly too heavy, so you remind i get this one?
Why is it that I am having issues mounting this lens onto my Sony a6400. It seems to not want to attach itself.
Better this or tt 35mm 1.8 for wedding or travell?

It’s not a miracle. On an A6700 My copy has squirrelly AF unless the light is good. Won’t shoot sharp unless shutter is fast (
You say the sigma 56 would be better then this one?
That's $200 more even used
It's natural for that to be far better and it is
You just compared a high end budget lens with a low end budget lens. Go home.
