Games count as merchandise to the film productions or the film companies that finance the studio. Through licensing, game studios can produce what ever they want. Licensing back in the 2000s was very lax. Just sell X IP license to Y video game company, with very few conditions set for the quality itself, which meant a lot of these games were just produced to make a quick buck. Only after the 2010s and through companies like Warner Bros. having their own dev teams were games more authentic and comparable to their films. Assets and content are shuffled by the mother company to benefit some of their biggest games. Disney had this approach much earlier through Buena Vista Games, but they were pretty much closed by the advent of AAA games. Licensing today is also a lot more strict. Not saying they cant be cash grabs now, but that they are much more tied to the IP holder now a days than they were back in the Wii days, were there was game for EVERYTHING!
was gonna say this brought war flashbacks to the fact that a game was made a video game about my comfort movie. the only good thing was that it gave bonus and unseen content HOWEVER, that does NOT excuse it from not only not being needed AT ALL but was not the same thing at all. I would love to see a high budget game of Hell's Kitchen with actually good looking food, a story with developed characters maybe like a visual novel, and Gordon saying more than 3 lines of dialogue.
I've always wanted a competitive Hell's Kitchen game. You and 9 other players, duke it out in 5v5 kitchens with people being eliminated one by one like the show. Would need to be a well paced game as the last two chefs could be playing for an hour otherwise, but I think it could be a really solid bit of fun if done right.
There is a technique with sound design for to specify what part of decibels you turn of. If there are distinct background sounds you can sort of stretch the audio by sort of nullifying the 50 decibels while keeping the 75 decibels.
For the PC version there exists an official uncensored update because too many people complained about not hearing Gordon curse you out. Unfortunately the game's website doesn't exist anymore and using wayback machine isn't helpful because you needed to enter your email in order to get it so the uncensored update is pretty much lost media. I cannot find it anywhere.

(about the part at 10:50) as someone who works in the game industry, the term "AI" has been used forever to describe the NPC being able to "take a decision" based on the events that's happening (with the code) more or less. It is not used as the same definition that the average person use the word "AI" (aka like chat GPT and other tools that are virtual assistants) To give an example: You walk next to an NPC and they give you the same dialogue everytime: scripted You walk next to an NPC and they will comment on your appearance if you are in underwear or you put a bush on fire next to them: AI (Note, for any game dev reading this, i'm simplifying and might be using the wrong terms, i'm not a coder, i just know we use the term "AI" in a different meaning that what most people is used to)

It's in a way similar to cereal box cd games with either Timon and Pumba, Stuart Little, and other big blockbuster animation movies. but more "comprehensive" and longer. The ones that did it RIGHT were games of the 2000's: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Game of Life, etc.
They did also release this as a mobile game! Idk if it’s still available, but it was my jam in high school. I didn’t even know it came out on other systems!
2011 RUclips has finally come back full circle. This was like THE game to play if you were doing random gaming videos back then everybody ripped this game a new one.
The sheer amount of shovelware on the Wii was out of control. Gordon will happily promote his books, his restaurants, and his shows in exchange for the rights to his likeness, while game companies are more than happy to have the license to a popular IP with celebrity appeal.

The fact that you can staff an entire restaurant by yourself and make any meal with the same three ingredients makes me think that you’re actually some sort of ultra-powerful cooking deity and have been trapped in a simulation of Hell’s Kitchen to stop you from wreaking havoc on the world at large. It's in a way similar to cereal box cd games with either Timon and Pumba, Stuart Little, and other big blockbuster animation movies. but more "comprehensive" and longer. The ones that did it RIGHT were games of the 2000's: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The Game of Life, etc.

The fact that you can staff an entire restaurant by yourself and make any meal with the same three ingredients makes me think that you’re actually some sort of ultra-powerful cooking deity and have been trapped in a simulation of Hell’s Kitchen to stop you from wreaking havoc on the world at large.
This would also explain why Gordon only has like five voice lines.

Gabi you should get component cables for your wii, it makes a world of a difference if you're not already using them! I got some for mine this past year and it makes games a lot easier to read and see

I dont need a 21 minute video to know that a Hell's Kitchen game on wii was gonna be basic shovelware. But I needed to subscribe to know that Gabi just released a fire video crossing over into one of my favorite YT genres! This was hilarious. I was holding in laughter durinig the defeated leaning on the wall but I laughed out loud when the level cleared screen and jingle came on XD subbed
