A few suggestions to your tour: Ask some key questions like , What’s the favorite house drink? What’s the best 86’d story? And Laud the longest or favorite Bartender, ask them to tell the BIGGEST TIP I ever got STORY & of course I’m GLAD you reminded folks to ALWAYS tip the bartender!
Check out Wolverine Gardens in Buchanan MI. They have a Busch Light as their thumbnail. So much history and it literally looks condemned. The mayor is there almost every night
The cement shortage have been around for 8-12 months. The shut down of coal produces slag and fly ash that goes into concrete. Mexico had limited its supply of concrete. Lack of labor, high fuel cost and concrete plants broken down all add to the issues. A lot of small contractors are going to big box stores and getting 5-10 pallets of bag concrete and mixing will small equipment.
I want the food! Since moving to the city some 30+ years ago you can’t find bars like you can in the Midwest. Spent most of my 20s in Wisconsin and frequented those small town bars a many of time
That bar is awesome! Dog house..ehh not my thing. Would just love to hang there, relax - perfect bar food eats too. I’m so jealous of the people that live nearby.
Check out "Brothers on Oak" in Baraboo. Stopped by there for a late lunch on vacation this year. It was epic. From the drunk girl at the end of the bar 2pm to the cheese curds to the Spotted Cow's. Five out of five stars.
How about ya come down to the southern Midwest in Brunswick Missouri and check out dirty Sally’s Saloon. Only small town bar in town you can still smoke in!
You know you're a YouBetcha fan when you're a non-drinker* and you still watch all the channel's bar content. 😜😂 *= guess I never graduated from the kiddie Nehi / knee high soda pops at the church picnic. But seriously. Why would you? 😁
All white walls in a bar is something you see mostly far far north up in the Yukon or Northern Territory, or at a hydro, mining or resources company town
If you make it to Iowa for this tour I'd suggest going to 209 Main Paton Iowa for something a little different than small town bar. Mulligans in Gowrie
I know where Hixton is. It's between Wisconsin Dells and Black River Falls on I-94. I live near Milwaukee but have family in Minneapolis so Der ya go. Tell your folks I says Hi.

Schwartz Tap in Pilot Grove, IA... from what I recall the entire roof is covered with snapping turtle shells.
These are really good!! I’m from the south and there isn’t much difference besides what animal is hanging from the wall 😂.
Cant wait till yoiu make it to Picksbourge (Pittsburgh) and dig into some of those gems of the Yinzers and all the craziness that house bars pack in.
You really need to check out Michigan's oldest bar: Shiel's Tavern in Hubbardston, MI.
Where is hubbardston?
@@toddo4329 Hubbardston is about 45-ish minutes north of Lansing. Just south of Carson City.

Yup its time to bring this show on the small town bars of America tours. You skip all megatroplises and come to towns with less than 70k..
